The Astros continue their flirtation with .500. .500 is still being real coy. Wandy Rodriguez didn't pitch bad, the Graffanino homerun in the 1st barely slipped over the wall. On the other hand, as Berkman said the other day, no matter how far it goes, it still counts as one. Wandy's 2 out walk of the shortstop Hall in the 3rd should have been accompanied by an ominous drum roll, 2 doubles later, the score was 3-0.
That was really all Dave Bush needed. Throwing sliders and sinkers, hitting his spots and pitching against an Astros team that accounts for about 1/3rd of the shutouts in the NL, he cruised to a 5 hit, 10 K complete game shutout. The only time the Astros even hinted at scoring a run was in the 6th; Palmeiro started the inning with a pinch hit double, got to 3rd with one out but was stranded.
