Title: so now who'll be the fifth starter?
Post by: OldBlevins on August 23, 2006, 12:12:53 pm
I'm not sure why I care, but old habits die hard.  Surely they won't send Hirsch out again in 5 days, will they?

Sampson was brought up.  Maybe he'll get a turn.

It's not Nieve, he's on the DL.

Why not send out Hirsh in five days?  He's not the first Astro this year to have a bad game.  Seems like the rest of the season is a good time to see what he is made of.

I tend to agree.  See what kind of stones he has and if he can bounce back from this.  Besides that, the Reds are a pretty potent offense, especially at home.

Sampson has been working out of the pen in RR. I bet he's up to take Nieve's spot in the pen.

That's my guess, too.  Specifically, long relief, which has been in too much demand recently.

I hope they send him back out. He needs to have some success...feel good about himself. YOu don't want him going into the off-season wondering if he can pitch at this level.
