Pure tripe. I never even considered this possibility:
"Something is just not right about Clemens. The productive arm at the age of 43 is odd enough to raise eyebrows and suspicious thoughts around the baseball world."

...and, this guy is an unmitigated doofus. No wonder you houstonites rale (sp? How do you spell that anyways?) on the guy all the time.

The Wayne State college newspaper? How did you end up THERE?
Interesting how the author proclaims "I can tell you the reason" Clemens didn't come back in the spring, but never actually comes out and says steroids at any point in the article.

Rail. Rhymes with "whale." Which eat plankton. Which is what Justice is.

Richard Justice loves writing Astros stories about Richard Justice. Hilarious.
-
I've got a 5-spot that says Richard Justice wasn't even in the stadium yesterday, much less in Garner's office. That "conversation" only occurred in Dick's head.
-
Mmmmmm...plankton!
-
people inside of baseball say this also.

Don't worry about the 5, but Fox Sports Report interviewed him from inside the stadium yesterday after the game.

Young, stupid kid coming up through the minors trying anything to get his shot; this I understand to some degree.
Clemens late in his HOF career with a basement full of cash, even with his texas-sized ego, I fail to understand the compelling motive.
-
just telling you what i heard from someone in a position to know.
-
Understood. There's lots I don't understand in this world.
If true, on some level i hope he's outed.

Clemens compiled a 1.87 ERA during a year he was tested at least twice for steroids. I'm not convinced that he cheated.
-
not trying to convince you of anything, petey. you love Roger. just telling you what a friend of his said.
-
Who the hell is Bruce Mason? Using his 'logic', you could also point the accusing finger at Nolan Ryan, along with several others. Pure BS, in my opinion. Training techniques have improved over the years, no? Nutrition? Medical advances? Legal drugs? Innocent until... accused guilty?
And CY was never considered the best pitcher as far as I know, just the most durable.
Screw Rajah, juiced or not.

NYCU stands for News You Can Use. A non-entity writing for a college newspaper using phrases like "Don?t kid yourself" is not something you can use. There's been all kinds of articles written about Clemens on steroids. Fine, if you've got proof stop whispering about it. Or they could get serious and apply the calipers to his head.
Notice, I didnt link to Pin Wheels "column" neither. He's on the same level as the "Voice of Wayne State University".

Why on earth is it "inevitable" that he's pictured with Emmylou Harris?

Because he's from Texas. You just can't call yourself a real Texan till you have your picture taken with Emmylou Harris. It's kind of like getting your picture taken standing in a field of bluebonnets. It's a requirement.
-
I've had a crush on Emmy Lou Harris since I was 19, only predated by my crush on Emma Peel. My wife knows this. My IPod is a good 30% Emmy Lou Harris. I'm from Texas.
When do I get my picture taken with Emmy Lou Harris?
-
me too, Neil, and she is a HUGE baseball fan. at each concert, she damns the DH.
-
How do you expect her to want to take a picture with you if you keep splitting her first name in two?

Well, she doesn't seem to have a problem posing with guys wearing Yankees jerseys.
-
She just wanted to wear his ring.

Other than her appearances on Austin City Limits, what is her connection with Texas?
-
Ain't that enough? Geez...

Um, she sang background vocals on Willie's "Teatro" album? (Great, great album, by the way.)

OK, now I'm in love.
We know Billy Gibbons is a fan. Lyle Lovett, too, I think. And IIRC, also Bushwick Bill.
Now that would be a hell of a concert.
-
Totally concur. Teatro was an excellent album. Good for drinking beer or wooing women of questionable reputation.

I've met both Billy Gibbons and Lyle Lovett. Gibbons is every bit as cool as you think he'd be and Lovett is every bit as weird. Never met Bushwick Bill.

Bidge has always been my favorite player. Throw in the fact that Wells has always had a big mouth and I'm ready to dismiss this shit without another thought. For those that have ears, am I playing favorites?

Boomer explains all, see The Link apparently it's all a big (expletive) mis-(expletive)-understand-(expletive)-ing.

Is that the problem? Emmylou. Now then, what do I need to do for Emma Peel?
There is not a good thing out of Country Music generally or Nashville particularly in the past 3 decades that she hasn't been part of or friends with or a mentor to, in my opinion, from Gram Parsons to Steve Earle and Gillian Welch. And she looks great.
I'm not sure what she's got to do with Texas, except that she's sung some Texas songs.
I didn't realize she was a baseball fan. She sang
God Bless America in the 7th inning of one of the Yankee/Diamondback series games, and it was what I still remember about the Series. We came no where close to that good with our singers.

Plus, she's shown over the last decade and change that she ain't all about country, either.

I think HH was absurdly replying to a question regarding an absurdity.

Plus, she's 59 years old and still a hell of a lot of woman.

Emmylou fans who have not grown friendly with the GP/Grievous Angel double CD are denying themselves a wonderful experience.

I have met Bushwick Bill - about 15 years ago at the Galvez Hotel. Too Short was there as well if I recall correctly. My brother claims to despise rap but is in reality quite knowledgeable about the various characters, issues, fads, trends, patois and accoutrement of the hip-hop world. This is occasionally helpful to me. Very occasionally.

After they devour that, they can check this out. It's a raw recording but some cuts are fantastic.
