God, there's egotistical then there's this assbag.  Should Roger go somewhere else, I'm dreading Reeshard's reaction.

Go resign Clemens.  Great call Karnak.  Why didn't someone ELSE think of that?  Oh yeah, there was the whole "Promising upwards of $20 million in salary for a guy who may or may not come back next year" thing.

Does this confirm that Houston has the worst print sports coverage of any major metropolis?  In the WORLD?

More, from today,

"If it were not for the tremendous start the Cardinals' Albert Pujols is having, all eyes would be on Berkman."
John P. Lopez

Did New York, Illinois, California, and Massachusetts secede from baseball?

"There might have been longer and more majestic home runs at Minute Maid Park on Monday night, but none of them had the impact of Jason Lane's pop fly that found the first row of the Crawford Boxes.
Lane put a season's worth of frustration behind him ..."
Brian McTaggart

I think Brian misplaced his perspective monocle.

Boy, that crap would be lucky to fetch a "D" in a college creative writing class.  Although I must admit I enjoyed Richard's first assignment, about a man who is killed by the mob and comes back as a tree to wreack his vengeance.  Very creative.

BOOOOOO.  I doubted the article could have been as bad as advertised.  I was, as usual, wrong.

I don't know what is worse, his "manufacturing" of the Astros Want Bagwell to Retire story or the "Drayton didn't do enough to sign Beltran" story.

Between the Comical hacks and the radio schmoozers it would be easy to forget Ensberg even exists...

Let alone recognize he is having as good or better a start than Berkman...

"To find a petrified man, or break a stranger's leg, or cave an imaginary mine, or discover some dead Indians in a Gold Hill tunnel, or massacre a family at Dutch Nick's, were feats and calamities that we never hesitated about devising when the public needed matters of thrilling interest for breakfast."  - Mark Twain's Letters from Washington, Number IX, Territorial Enterprise, March 7, 1868
