Having trouble in the 5th. How's he looking? Making good pitches? Flummuxed by the error? What?

He looks fine. Errors killed him. And, that wasn't a wild pitch... the ball went right between Munson's legs.

Great, thanks. Getting out of that mess with only two runs scored saved the game (assuming they can put some wood on Morris).
Kid seems to be cut from the same unflappable cloth as Oswalt (gum throwing excepted).

He got Frankenbarry to pop out in foul territory.

Springer just relieved Buckholz. What's the deal? Why didn't he go more than 3 innings? I assumed he'd go as far as possible once Backe left.
-
Probably because he has a certain amount of work he does in between starts and he has one on Sunday.

Just a guess, but he came in the game off his schedule and they may want him to start again in a few days.

Probably keeping him available for another day, or his next start. Oswalt will be given a lot of rope tonight, I suspect. Not that that's usually a problem.

Holy Mary Mother of God and all Her wacky nephews. Garner hates puppies and children that's why.

Plus they still have Nieve as the other long reliever out of the pen if needed for game 2.

Dont think so, Nieve may have to start.

I have absolutely no idea what that means.

I think it was a visceral reaction to the question.

It means pravata is suffering from withdrawals because of 2 days of no baseball.

morris has our number today. should be able to complete this game.
-
it means quit bitching.

Buchholz looks fine. In the 5th when they scored their runs...they were on soft pop ups that just found seams. He pitched exactly how he wanted to.

I got home and watched the 'wild pitch' again... wasn't exactly between his legs. Just an awful, awful play by Munson. He did a back handed peck at the ball, didn't move his body a bit. I hope shitzilla is taking notes.

That's two posts today where the word "peck" was used to describe defense:

I'm suspecting a conspiracy.

My old man called it something different when I was playing, but I thought pravata's description was perfect.

The words certainly fit the picture well.
