Title: spring training
Post by: NeilT on March 15, 2006, 10:00:08 pm
I can't remember when I've been less interested in spring training.   The bullpen is set, the rotation is pretty set, the only thing of great interest is Bagwell, and that's just, I don't know, something I want to know the outcome of but don't want to watch.  Is it just me?  I can't even get interested that Prior's arm has already fallen off.

I'd feel the same way if it weren't for the box seat next to the Astros' dugout I have for today's Janquis game.

I'm with you.  I just want it to be over so they can play.

They're playing now.

Good gravy, do they need a fantasy baseball short season for spring?

Maybe that would help.  I'm glad it's there; I just want it done with. I want games where a 11-1 loss to the Janquees really means something.

Awwwww, nevermind.

What's the line on the Astros/Yankees game today?

Jason Hirsh has just KILLED my fantasy spring training team.

Seriously... if Steve Sparks is pitching, I can't consider it a game.

Based on that logic, the Reds only have 63 games scheduled.

I totally agree with this.  Sparks hasn't just been terrible he has been putrid.  How is he still considered an option for the rotation?  I don't even see him making any minor league team!  It is a shame too, cause he is a really nice guy and I would like to see him do well, but holly cow has he been bad!

I can't imagine Holly or Steve Sparks would be pleased with your statement.

I'm swearing off real fantasy baseball this season. (by "real fantasy," I mean regular season, as opposed to the ST, which is fantasy fantasy baseball.) I found myself scrolling over the stats of middle relievers I'd never heard of WAY too much last year (never play in a league that counts "holds"). I need my life back.
