2.25 million? Good deal.

Still waiting for "something exciting."
If not? God I hope Bagwell can play.

I think they'll sign Sammy Sosa.  That would be exciting.  Weird and ill-advised, but exciting.

Byrnes had a horrible season last year.  Putting that aside, he probably had enough teams interested to pick the place he was certain of a starting position.  That's not necessesarily the case in Houston.

Yes, he did.  I'm not sorry the Astros didn't get him.

Yes, something stupid would not be exciting, i.e. Griffey Jr., Sosa or any trade involving Lidge.

Texas, and TB still need to trade one of their OF's,
that would be exciting.

Byrnes will always lead the league in unnecessary and oversensationalized dives to catch fly balls.  His game is ridiculous.

He also essentially cost the A's the ALDS in '03 on a ridiculous play where he missed home plate, then shoved Jason Varitek and limped toward the dugout as Varitek retrieved the ball and tagged Byrnes out. Cemented his reputation as a cement-head for many who watched that series.
