Title: Scalpers
Post by: Moz on October 23, 2005, 07:09:29 pm
Just picked up my game 4 tickets at Minute Maid. Bunch of scalpers parked outside the Will Call windows down there. Looked like they were holding a bunch of tix, which pisses me off. I thought that if they were on Astros property they were breaking the law?

Anyway, their first, and only, offer to buy my SRO tickets was $250 each, got the feeling they would have gone a lot higher if I had been interested in selling.

Let me say this publicly, just so it's out there.

If you or someone you know (not Moz; anyone) sell your tickets to scalpers at below-market-value, please let me know so I can rip your fucking skull clear from your body and use your tongue to wipe my ass.

That's what the world needs, more people selling tickets to scalpers at a discount.

Don't worry, I'm using mine, and my buddies ain't going to give me a cent over $51. Although they may buy me a couple of beers. I got four for game 4 with the idea of swapping two for tickets to game 3 or 5, but I know too many deserving fans who just want to be in the building for one game. Couldn't do it to them.

That is to be admired.

Anyone who sells their tickets to scalpers to turn around and drive up the prices so fans like me have to pay $1000 per ticket to a sporting event, should be hung up in the city center and have bits of their body removed using a pair of tweezers and lemon juice.

My soccer team in the UK used to hand out vouchers to fans when they entered at every game. Then when a big game came along you had to turn in, say, 5 vouchers at the ticket office to buy a ticket. Probably far too simple a solution for today's high-tech world where everyone wants to buy stuff off the internet, but it worked well back in them days.

Look, like I've been saying, I'd be happy with a somewhat easy QUIZ to get in or to purchase tickets.

I'm not saying you have to be able to tell me who our middle relievers were in 1967, just something to prove this isn't your first Astro game.

Sorry, pal, I don't know if you've been keeping up or not, but there are some "women" on Craigslist that will let me pee on them upsidedown for tickets.

Fucking Craigslist.

Beauty! I remember Carrol Sembera....nicknamed "The Pencil"
the guy was scary skinny. I remember the other guys barely...god that was a loooong time ago...of course there was Jim "The Stinger" Ray...as well.. but he was more of a closer even if they didnt call it that back then.
