I've got about an hour and a half till beer-thirty. That should leave me with enough time for the alcohol to kick in and calm my nerves before game time.
They gotta win...I frick'n hate catching shit from people in the Ted after we lose. It's worse than say STL. At least there you know that the guys giving you shit actually have invested a little time in the team....here you know there's a better than 75% chance that the fan giving you shit can't even name a player on the team that isn't named, Jones, Jones or Smoltz...that shit just burns me up!
Last year was great though....late at the end of game one, as people were filing out of the stadium...I picked up an old foam tomahawk off the ground and started chopping at those idiots as they left in defeat. Hope to do it again too, Lidge'm all!

Sucks for me. 3 hours of classes, hour and a half of tutoring (I'm the tutorer), then who knows how long on a group project starting 5:15, and then an hour drive home. Thank goodness for DVRs. Nobody email me the game results, please... I'm going to refrain from even tuning in to 740 on the drive.

Our receptionist is out on vacation this week, so I'm lucky enough to fill in for her today. No tv, no radio, no getting up to check the tv in the kitchen/break room...I'm hoping to find an internet stream somewhere. At worst is Gameday.

Stoopid Tammy has rearranged my work schedule. I'm driving the guys towards a 4pm (eastern) deadline while discreetly peeking at OWA. I've heard two of them mutter, "what's gotten into him, what's so special about 4pm today?"... I feel a little bad. But only a little.

Work. Setting up the last batches that lock up the system and make it look like things are being accomplished.
Gameday for the first hour or so with a slim chance of radio, then home by 4 to catch the exciting conclusion.

Trying to wrap up all the shit I need to get done today so I can pay as much attention to the game. It's not looking good though so I may have half a mind on the game and take care of the simple tasks at work so I don't screw up anything important. I don't know how anyone gets anthing done without multi-tasking anyway. It just so happens one of those multiple tasks will be Astros/Braves starting at 3pm.... too bad it's on ESPN. Anyone know who's doing the tv coverage? Please let it be anyone but Joe Morgan or The Swammi. The Swammi will figure out some way to throw in a Barry Bonds figurative blow job as usual....

I used to work in an office with two secretaries, Lynn and Vicky. Lynn was super-hot and rude, but totally flat-chested, while Vicky was pretty and sweet with humongous milk jugs. Us lads were joking around about a "pearl necklace" and were overheard by Lynn. She had no idea what we were talking about, so I told her to go and ask Vicky.
Two minutes later I got a stapler thrown at my head.

I took a sick day yesterday. In between my bouts of sleep and delirium, I watched the better parts of all 3 games. Unfortunately, I'm better today which means I'm back at work. I'll have to listen to the first part of the game on the radio and watch the remainder on the DVR after I get home from class tonight. It might be late tonight cause the wife will want me to watch Lost with her when I get home from class. Damn the suspense.

something unsuall actually (imagine that.. besides the annual cnadle leit) i will be on my duaghters couch in austin while on the phone with my daughter in natchitoches who wil be in the student union watching the game with a group.. hard to be apart from your children at times like these. but we wil make do

It's almost checkout time. I'm heading to the school to pick up my sons so we can watch the game at the house. 60" HD turning down the center speaker (Milo) and cranking up all the field and croud noise. A little popcorn, peanuts, rootbeer and cold cerveza make for a great opening day of the playoffs with the kiddos! If the little one gets away when it's diaper changing time we even have our own streaker!
