Leadoff man on.
Let's go.

Well, there goes the no-hitter for Sanchez...Springer with a leadoff infield single

Fuck. That was a nice play.

You've gotta be fucking kidding me. What do we have to do for those to start falling in?
-
Needed a few more weeties.
-
You've gotta be fucking kidding me. What do we have to do for those to start falling in?
Well, Springer's was a lucky break
-
Geez what a catch to save a run 2 batters into the game.
-
Well, Springer's was a lucky break
Sure, but it feels like every last hard hit ball in this series has been within the range of a defender.
-
Well, Springer's was a lucky break
We're don't count that.
-
Get em out, Zack.
-
Astros get a leadoff single and a stolen base, but a spectacular catch in CF, fly out and another Bregman strike out mean squat.
-
MVP
-
We have our first risplob of the day.
-
Sure, but it feels like every last hard hit ball in this series has been within the range of a defender.
Meanwhile, expect to see lots of 60 mph hits falling in for the charmed-life Nats.
-
Well, that would've been really bad.
-
Man, tiny strike zone tonight. Not good for Greinke
-
Fuck. Had Rendon struck out, then gives up a double.
Nationals had base runners in every inning last game. Looks like that will continue.
-
That one was lower than I thought.
And of course it turns into a double for Soto to try to drive in.
-
Chalk up a double for blue behind the plate.
-
Let's get some hits.
-
Gets Soto on a first pitch ground out. No score after one.
-
Hey, we're tied in RISP LOB!
-
Let's get some hits.
I wonder if they still can. Or if they're trying too hard.
-
Fuck. Another line drive stung right at some one.
-
Another one on the screws, right at a defender.
-
Correa with a 1-out double!
-
Correa doubles!
-
Carlos hit one where they ain't.
Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
-
They're hitting Sanchez hard. Of course, they were hitting the ball hard in Games 1 and 2 as well. Let's hope for a different result.
-
Of course for Reddick, the strike zone doubles in size.
-
Windmill pettis pays off!!

Outstanding! Risky, but outstanding!

Soto ain't a 5-tool player.
-
Nice, Reddick comes through.
-
I'll take it of course but man what an awful throw
Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk

Thought he may have sailed that throw higher.
-
That would have been a base hit if they'd had their shortstop out in right field somewhere like a normal team.
-
2 for 4 w/RISP that inning, but only get one run.
-
George should have crushed that pitch.
Sent from my GM1915 using Tapatalk
How you take a 90 mph get ahead fastball down the middle with 2 on and 2 out is a mystery I'll never solve.
-
A zero is asking too much, isn't it?
-
Altuve, Yuli, Correa, and Springer have all blistered pitches.
1 hit among them.
-
More Nationals baserunners.
-
One run is paltry payoff for the barrels Sanchez's pitches have found. Hopefully those balls find green or seats on the second time through the order.
-
A zero is asking too much, isn't it?
Don't fucking kid yourself.
-
Fucking Assdribble Cabrera.
-
This is just depressing.
-
Two hanging change ups just hammered...two on, nobody out
-
I can't remember the last time an Astros' pitcher put up a zero after we scored.
-
Another hit.
He was sitting on breaking balls.
-
Another hit.
He was sitting on breaking balls.
If Greinke doesnt adjust his gameplan, it's gonna be 4-1 Nats in about 8 minutes.
-
Another hit.

His postseason thus far

He should have been sitting on a fastball. He obviously wasn't.
-
Blum said today the bigger the spot, the softer the pitch - these Nats are only going to give them offspeed with 2 strikes. So they need to be looking for fastballs earlier in the count or sit back and crush the offspeed.

I don’t know if this or something like it was already mentioned in this thread, as I was fortunate enough to get to watch with my dad tonight—who is visiting for the weekend—and so did not have to constantly retreat here for succor, but tonight really reminded me of how hard it can be to lose when you’ve been on a winning streak—by which I mean that you kind of have to make yourself do it, because opportunities keep befalling you, and that after you’ve gotten over that hump, and lose, why you often lose a couple more right quick.
What an outstanding job by the run-suppressing machine, tonight, and what an interminably-paced thing the first six innings were.
Happy birthday, Juan!

Somewhere inside Alex Bregman is a primal force begging to be unleashed. Let us hope it happens soon.
-
I appreciate the fact that he's a very technical sort of player. I've always been struck by his saying that he worries about where the knob of the bat is during his swing, and if the knob is where it needs to be, he knows his swing will be good.
But I do find myself wishing he had a little bit more of Altuve in him, see the ball, hit the ball, maybe not two feet off the plate, but swing at it without thinking too much.
He overthinks things, I believe.
-
Bregman fizzled in the bases loaded AB, but he also tomahawked a ball right at an outfielder and lined out to Turner (the nice leaping grab).
Another flyball was fairly well hit.
Let's hope he keeps hitting the ball hard and has some land on the outfield grass. Preferably with runners on.

The slumbering Bregman farts, murmurs, and rolls over.
Will he wake up tonight? We can only hope.
-
Posing after his home run in Game 2 took a lot out of him. He's saving his energy for his next pose.
-
Last night's win gets the Astros to Cole in Game 5 which theoretically gets them back to Houston. Of course, theoretically the Astros should be up 2-1 since the offense put up 4 runs against Scherzer.

The one that tied the game, just before the Nats blew it open?
-
Somewhere inside Alex Bregman is a primal force begging to be unleashed. Let us hope it happens soon.
He is getting there. He was hitting the ball hard to the wrong places last night*.
* Is it just me, or have the Astros got this far despite, not because, they're hitting them where they ain't? It just seems that there have been hard hit balls straight at people for totally undeserved outs, and it's been going on the whole post-season. Perhaps last night was the first time in a while that (a) we found some gaps with bloops and bleeders, (ii) bounced some hits off fielders, rather than have them gobbled up for outs; (3) had some shots down the line fall just fair instead of just foul and (IV) had more than one hit in a row.
The HP ump still tried to shoo this one Washington's way with some extra strikes (with an assist from the 3B ump at one point) but, with so many LOBsters over the last few nights, it had only to be a matter of time before the Astros delivered the second hit that scored some runners. I hope the evening out of the luck continues tonight as, with this dead ball, we can't rely on homers to bail us out.
-
The one that tied the game, just before the Nats blew it open?
That homer was in the first inning.
-
The one that tied the game, just before the Nats blew it open?
It took a few innings for Washington to blow it open. After the awesomeness of his pose, Bregman went 0-3, left a couple on and made the error that was to a some degree responsible for the blow out.
-
He is getting there. He was hitting the ball hard to the wrong places last night.
