at how the announcers last night talked over and over and over how the rays would chip away at the astros lead? (almost uphoric when the home run was hit) and how the rays were used to coming back...and finally maybe thinking if they did not get on base they might not win the game? almost seemed like they were in the stages of grief

I only had the volume up at moments when I wanted to hear the crowd.
3 man booths are terrible. Especially if both color analysts are jackwagons.

Of all the stupid fucking shit those guys said, that was the closest they came to actual commentary.
That's how announcers keep the game interesting when one team is winning decisively.
However, asking Joe Girardi about the 2017 Yankees 150 times, is not how you keep it interesting.

I was amused considering the outcome of that series, and his growing annoyance at it being mentioned.

Is it much of a surprise that Girardi would be rooting for the Rays to face the Yankees?

How about trying to wheedle an answer about where he'll be managing next year about a dozen times?

Only thing that drove me nuts was how they kept sing hat Cole was the best pitcher and having him not pitch till game 3 was such a disadvantage. Never even mentioned Verlander.... his game 1 was masterful. He’s still the ace.

This is so true and I don't, for the life of me, understand why networks don't get that.
