I got here a bit late. For some reason, Altuve is leading off, but he did his best George impression and stroked a lead-off homer. Anybody know where Springer is? Seems odd that he'd be getting the night off after an off day.
-
Broadcast just said day off for George.
-
Bregxit!!
-
Wow, fast start, lucky we tuned in early.
-
Correa!!
-
A double?
Come on, Diaz. Get with the program.
-
RBI knock for Josh.

An enterprising sort in the clubhouse would have a box of wheaties waiting for him in his locker.
-
Oops, 89mph thigh-high center-cut is not a recipe for success.
-
Correa Correa!

Wow, the 1979 Astros hit 49 home runs all season, and four of those were by pitchers. They had a .659 OPS as a team.
-
Grienke scuffling.
2 runs in, runner on 2nd with no outs in the 4th.
-
4th straight hit puts runners on the corners.
Strom out to discuss things.
-
Another hit, another run.
6-4.
-
Those hits wouldn't have counted when I was a kid. We often only had six or so, so anything to the right of 2nd base was an out.
-
4-6-3 gets 2 outs; runner to 3rd.
-
Timely double play. Let's hope Greinke's grunting ass can right the ship.
-
Ugly inning finally over. Time to score some more runs.
-
Broadcast said Grienke's ERA in the 4th is 5.87.
Or it was.

Hmmmm. I'm a notorious worrywart, but I have a hard time imagining the Yankees or Dodgers being worried about facing the Greinke we've seen thus far.

For what it's worth, he's pitched well vs the Yanks twice and been beat up by LA twice this year.

The Angels were super patient and Grienke made a few mistakes. The biggest was the 1-2 pitch that Calhoun clobbered into the corner.
-
Freaking Simmons. That guy can really play.

He's a wizard.

He's a wizard.
Burn him!
-
Josh James pitches the 6th.
Flyball and 2 Ks.
-
You know, if they could program Chirinos to lay off of anything above the waist, he could be quite dangerous.
-
Need Brantley to pick up Altuve here. Need to get this run in.
-
Rats, not to be. Lead-off double wasted.

Frustrating.
-
Pressly back to pitch the 7th.
-
There's a sight for sore eyes! Pressly in for the 7th.

Final
Tor 4
NYY 3

3 pitch K!

Frustrating.
With Altuve's bat-to-ball skills, you'd think he'd be at 90% on those runner-on-3rd-and-less-than-2-outs situations. Instead he's at half of that. It's a real head-scratcher.
-
Giles with the save.
-
Man, that was a comforting sight. It'll be great to have Pressly back in the mix.
-
Pressly gets another K!
K, F8, K
-
Holy shit, that's a pretty good ERA: 0.00.
-
Giles with the save.
With a little help from Joe West.
-
Harris pitches a clean 8th.
Third out was exciting as Altuve made an over the shoulder catch that was punctuated by a nice hurdle over the sliding Josh Reddick.

Was I the only one who thought "oh shit" as that was unfolding?

No you were not.
-
I still have faith in Greinke as a big game pitcher.
-
Osuna gives up a 2 out dink then puts it away with a swinging K.
Astros win 6-4
#101
1.5 up on the Yankees

I'm not worried either. He'll get locked in

Do who did what? I am in a plane heading to Munich. Yep

Altuve, Bregman and Correa homered in the first, none were cheap, Diaz missed his by about 2 inches in LCF, Reddick followed his 2B with an RBI single to LCF. James/Pressly!!!/Harris/Osuna went 4 IP, 1 H, 1 BB, 7 K
Have a great trip!
Magic number is 1, Oak is stomping the Rangers early, so maybe they get to clinch it at home tomorrow. 1.5 up on the Yanks for AL home field.

Thanks! Y’all don’t give up on Greinke. I like that it is not coming easy for him. I hope JV and Cole are talking his ear off.
Prosit!

Two years ago I fell off of a table that I was attempting to dance on at the Munich Octoberfest. I was “relaxed” enough that there were no physical consequences.
The only thing that makes this story somewhat interesting is that the “Mayor” of Munich was sharing the table with us. Evidently he had a good laugh.
