A couple of 1 out singles by the Royals in the 2nd but Greinke gets a K and a 4-3 grounder.
The KC bench coach, Swaim, was ejected in the first (night have been top 2) for arguing balls/strikes.

I think it's spelled "Sveum" but pronounced "Swaim". Go figure.

That's grounds for ejection right there.
-
Springer with a 1 out walk but that was it.
Altuve got one near the warning track. Hit it just off the sweet spot.
Mid 3
No score
-
Bregman makes a nice grab going to his left, spins and sails the throw over Yuli's head.
Ruled a hit, runner stayed at 1st.
-
Merrifield hits a rocket to the base of the wall in left, Lopez tries to go 1st to third but Tucker to Bregman to Chirinos balls him at the plate.
Replay looks like he may have snuck his hand in ahead of the tag.
Replay says . . . safe.
Merrifield took 3rd on the throw.
1-0, runner on 3rd with no outs.
-
Tapper to 1st with Yuli in keeps the runner on 3rd.

Big K of Soler.
Came back from 3-0.
-
F8 ends the 3rd.
1-0 KC.
Runner on 3rd with zero outs did not score.

Lots of pressure from the offense but the big swing came with the bases empty.
Let's try it again.

So many crap teams.
Nice exercise by the authors.
-
Merrifield doubles again. This time ge was blown up and hit a blooper just fair down the RF line.
Grienke gets Mondesi swinging to end the inning.
-
Grienke threw a 58 mph curve.

It seems they are all trying to be the "new" Astros. IMO, it's more than just top draft picks, as illustrated by Appell and Aiken. It's developing the system. That's what Luhnow and Co. did and has made the difference.
-
Montgomery wanted no part of Bregman.
4 pitch leadoff walk.

I think you nailed it.
A lot of these teams are still going to suck in 4 years.
-
Yuli hits a drop shot into center, Bregman to 3rd on a nice read.
-
Tucker singles thru the right side; Bregman scores, Yuli to 2nd.
3rd hit of the game for Tucker.
-
I don't know why, but Tucker just isn't a favorite of mine. Something is missing. It could be that I don't see much of a personality.
-
Chirinos hits into a tailor made 6-4-3 dp, but Lopez flat out misses the throw at 2nd. Everybody is safe.
Bases juiced, no outs.
Yost to the pen.
-
Reddick used to hit lefties as well as righties. Did something change?
-
Hill on the hill.
He's a submarining lefty.
Toro quickly Ks swinging.
Diaz hits for Reddick, goes full, pops out near 1st.
Springer F8.
Fizzle.
But it's 2-1 Astros.
-
Reddick used to hit lefties as well as righties. Did something change?
This dude's delivery is almost from 1st base.
-
Reddick used to hit lefties as well as righties. Did something change?
He started hitting lefties a lot better than righties.
-
Single, dp, grounder for the Royals.
End 6
2-1 Astros

As Blum & Kalas google where Nori Aoki’s playing right now (he plays for the Tokyo Yakult Swallows), I saw him play in Tokyo a week or so ago. It was a lot of fun. I’ll write up a longer post about the Japanese baseball experience sometime, but the short version is that I highly recommend it if you’re able to go.
-
Altuve taps out 1-3 on the first pitch.
Brantley lines a single to left
Bregman battles, lines out to right
Yuli flies out to left
2-1 Astros mid 7

I fully expect the rangers to screw the Astros by getting swept.

Just keep winning. No one is going to help us.
Abreu looks like he may skip AAA next year.

Agree. He’s got some serious stuff.
