Title: espn and fairydust
Post by: Fredia on August 05, 2019, 12:15:53 pm
the comentators have used the term(for lack of a better word)that the Astros sprinkled fairy dust over their pitchers to make them better...wonder if Hinch has an in with the tooth fairy or tinkerbell?

Hinch has actually called it “magic dust” in interviews.

With Sanchez, the magic seemed to be: “You have a great curveball, use it. “

And, lay off the 2-seamer in favor of the 4-seamer.

This is, usually in combo with "you have a bad sinker(or other but mostly sinker) don't use that as much" Cole, Morton, Sanchez, Miley had done it before he got here but he used to throw sinkers, Pressly it was, less 2seam, more 4seam and curves/sliders.

I’m waiting for more data.  He pitched well in his last starts prior to the trade, and it was the Mariners after all. It’s seems likely that he is better than what we had, and that curve ball was real nice, but it seems a bit early to conclude much more than that.

Ah, the pitcher of ice cold water has arrived. Sell your TV, and simply rely on data.

You pitch against the ones they send up.  Yeah, the Mariners aren't good but you still have to get them out.

Really, you took my comment as some reliance on data, and not my eyes?  Maybe your TV showed you the next CFM.   My TV showed a good outing against a bad club.

Whatever. You and your data should not watch tonight.
