Bregman up and in, ball 1. Congrats blue, you finally figured out where the inside corner is, you fucking scrub. Weak ass fly ball to straight away center.  Sexy Dexy hauls it in.

Mid 1, 0-0, Astros look shitty.

Bottom 1

Urquidy (spell check nightmare) on the mound.

Yairo Munoz, apparently pronounced like gyro, starts it for the Shitbirds. Fouls back strike one. Low, ball 1. Camera cuts to Correa, who has a butterfly chilling on his left shoulder. Grounder right to him, 6-3 easy out number 1.

Fowler up. Butterfly still is chilling on Correa's back. Ball one up, strike one, swinging. Doinked down the 3rd base line for a single.

Butterfly STILL chilling on Correa's back. Jose Martinez, Urquidy throws over, back in time. Again, safe. On the inside corner, called a ball. What the fuck, blue? that was 2 inches closer than strike 3 to Springer. 1-0. slider on the knees, 1-1. Way low and out, ball 2. Overthrown there. 2-1. Kalas can't count (called it 3-1). Fly ball, Springer takes 1 step and camps under it.

1 out.

Butterly has made it's escape. Goldschmidt (another spellcheck nightmare) up with a runner on 1st and 2 outs, ball 1, low.Strike one. Goldy murdering the ball in July .500 BA with 1.654 OPS. Throw over, safe.  Grounded in the hole at short, Correa to a knee, pops up and guns out Goldy by a few steps.

End 1: 0-0

Home plate ump is the rookie that Boone yelled at recently.

This makes a lot of sense.

He wasn't overall awful, but man, strike 3 for Springer was not close.

Jesus Christ, the slurpjob on the Cards fans is nauseating. Lots of Astros fans in the seat tonight.

Chirinos takes a fastball, strike 1. Fouls back a belt high FB. 0-2. Inside (hold your breath!), ball 1. Out, ball 2. 2-2. Slider on the outside corner, Chirinos drives a ball to right, Martinez on the track hauls it in. A little bit of an adventure, but 1 out.

Urquidy strike one on a curve. Dick. Bailing on a fastball on the outer 3rd, strike 2. Takes ball one JUST low. Just low again, 2-2. Urquidy has no interest in standing in the box. He's flying out. Chopped foul behind home while somehow stepping almost out of the box. 2-2. Way inside, 3-2 as he bails out. Fouled off down the 1st base line. Martinez at the wall, almost makes a play but the BFIB take it away from him. And now being booed. Still full. Fouled again! Flaherty at 85 pitches. Fouled off AGAIN on another FB. Here comes a breaking ball (the bench is loving this), inside corner, strike 3, but still a great AB by a guy that had no interest hitting.

2 outs.

We can’t get the big hit in the top of the inning, they break it open 5-3

Bottom 8

Stepped away for a second and came back to Fowler fouling a ball off his foot, 2-2 count. Trying to walk it off. And holy shit, he's got some ugly kicks on. Look like something you'd win in a happy meal. Chopped foul low again, same pitch he fouled off previously. Bounced, ball 3. Another foul. And another. Ball 4, up and out. Fucking fuck. Shit ass at bat.

Fowler limping heavily on the way to first. Martinez low, ball 1. Breaking ball, strike 1. Roped in to the corner down the left field line, 2nd and 3rd nobody out. Pressly not fooling anyone so far.

2nd and 3rd, no outs.

Harrison Bader comes in to run for Martinez, Fowler thought he was coming out, but nope.

Infield mostly in with Goldy up. Outside, ball 1. This game is ripe for losing. Sad that the offense has been so shitty. Fouled off, strike 1. Bounced, ball 2. Deep fly to dead center on a hanging breaking ball around the thighs. Springer jumps but can't bring it back, home run for Goldschmidt. Pressly is absolute shit tonight.

5-3 Cardinals.

Makes Correa swinging through that shit ass slider even more painful.

Devo in to... I don't know, not lose by more? Strike one to DeJong. Way out and low. 1-1. Top of the zone, called ball 2 somehow. 2-1. Same pitch, slightly more outside, strike 2. 2-2, Ponche on a heater. 1 out.

Yeah, that was the first out of the inning.

O'Neill, Strike one, an inch off the outside corner. Ball 1, out and low. On the bottom black, ball 2. This fucking umpire is putrid. Swings through a high fastball, 2-2. Low and out. Full count. Fouled off. Way out, ball 4. Not even close.

Wong, runner on 1st, one out. Throw over, safe. Again, safe. Again, close but safe. Astros challenging the last pickoff attempt.

Shitty camera angles, not sure what they've got here. If they're using the TV angles, no way they turn this over.

Safe on the replay. 0-0 count to Wong, 1 out runner on first. Devo pitching. Ball 1. Strike one, top of the zone (same pitch that was just called a ball last AB). This rookie behind the plate is incredibly inconsistent. Another pickoff attempt, safe. Runner going, fouled off. 1-2. Low, ball 2. This game just reeks of pissed away opportunities for the Astros, which feels shittily familiar. Cueshot to short stop, no chance for a play anywhere. Bregman attempted to throw to first, but safe by 10 feet and the throw was shitty.

1 out, 1st and 2nd.

1 out, 1st and 2nd.

Weiters takes strike one. And my apologies earlier. His homer wasn't oppo, it was a pulljob.  Fly to left, Brantley back. Under it. Throws to 3rd, no runner going.

2 outs.

2 outs.

Edmond flies one to right, Reddick under it.

3 outs. Correa's shit flail at a meat slider and Pressly's puss strike to Goldschmidt loom large.

Top 9, Astros down 5-3.

Chasing 2 runs, Carlos Martinez in for the Cards. 3.76 ERA, 26/11 K/BB.

Averages 95.8 MPH on his FB, and has a bevvy of breaking balls.

Yuli leads it off.

Up, ball 1. Martinez closed yesterday, threw 11 pitches.
Yuli slaps one to left, O'Neill runs it down. 1 out.

Wonder how Pressly’s arm is.

Correa’s AB was the story.

Reddick (0-3 with a few hard hit balls) takes ball 1. Brewers won tonight late against the Cubs. Takes strike 1. Slashes one to left, down for a hit.

1 out, runner on first.

Reddick at first, one out.

Chirinos up. Ball 1, out. Diaz in the on deck circle. Takes strike one at the top of the zone, inconsistent call all night right there. Waves at a fastball running in, strike 2. 1-2. Swings at a pitch 4 inches off the plate outside, strike 3. Chirinos is a fucking liability at best at the plate.

Diaz PH now with 2 outs in the top of the 9th. Swings at a slider off the plate, 0-1. Same pitch, same result. Diaz couldn't hit that pitch with a fucking broom. Shit at bat so far. Reddick moves to 2nd on fielder's indifference. 0-2. Shitty fucking doinker back to the mound, 1-3. Diaz could've faced 100 pitches and never would've gotten a pitch to hit. Horrible last at bat, in a chain of shitty at bats with the game on the line.

Ballgame, 5-3 Cardinals.

Correa and Pressly decided the game, and not in a good way.

Correa's at bat was fucking garbage. He got a meatball to at least foul off, and he swung through it.

Pressly was just straight garbage, and has been trash on and off for the last few weeks.

Hinch is grinding the bullpen to dust the last month and change. The big arms need some time off, and they're not getting it.

Not even a little bit unreal. Didn't tack on when they had the chance and the same guys that Hinch has driven in to the ground struggled. Not surprising.

Cards are hot: 6-game win streak, 1-game lead in 1st place over Cubbies.
Rangers 3-2 over A's in bottom of 4th - in Oakland.

Yuli’s hot bat should have been in Correa’s spot - why not bat Correa lower in the order until he has a few games/hits under his belt?

Pressly has a 4.50 ERA since June 1st after tonight

Edit: previous to tonight but since June 1st he had a 3.00 ERA in 18 innings over 20 games with 26 K's and 5 walks
