(Beg pardon if this is old info and since it comes from a foreign source.)
As JV was announced, we were told while the team arrived around 5 AM from CA, JV came early. When offered the same travel deal, Altuve declined.
After going 0-5 with 2 ER, Hinch joked that he was having second thots about encouraging him to get some extra rest....

Man that ball was absolutely crushed!
Nice to see him making up for last night’s effort.

Odor flies out F8 at the track in CF
Cabrera walks, Pence to 2B

Kemp grounds out 3U on the first pitch
Straw strikes out swinging
Springer bounces back to the mound

Just saw the Yordan bomb... wow. Just wow.
You'd be hard pressed to find a ball more destroyed than that one. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not exactly round anymore

Altuve is awful.
-
T5:
Choo grounds meekly to 2B, no one there as Altuve is in RF...Altuve runs it down, but can't nip Choo. Shiftfuck single
Santana grounds to 2B...Straw there in the shift, but no one to cover 2B...Straw runs down Choo, but too late to turn two...score it 6U.
Andrus grounds to SS, Straw fields it, double clutches, flips to Altuve at 2B and Altuve bounces it into the stands, Andrus to 2B on the TE4.
Gallo...full count...strikes out swinging
4-0 Astros
-
Altuve is awful.
Should have come home early...
-
Gallo's plate discipline is impressive.
But it's still hard to hit 97 mph cheese.

Bregman!
Only two MLB players w/ 25+ HR & more BB than SO:
Trout 30 HR - 77 BB/70K
Bregman 26 HR – 76 BB/56K – w/ a 34.9% swing rate!
Both are in the bottom five for swing rate: Trout #5 & Bregman #3

Didn't the first one hit just above the line? Maybe I'm just not paying enough attention. That's my bad

Runners advance on a wp.
Still no outs.

Having watched the video... yeah I was wrong about where the first one hit. Thought it hit a few feet over the line. So I'm just a dumbass, we all know this already. I apologize for not being fully engaged

Good one.
-
Rangers didn't hit anything hard in that inning.
Aside from the wp, Harris was good.
(I'm assuming the Pence walk was unintentional-intentional)
-
Surprised to see Pence not bite on four pretty good sliders. I haven’t watched him close this year, but that isn’t the Pence I remember.
Time to get the bats going again.
-
James warning up.
Let's get him some more runs to work with.

Is one of the Pressly/Osuna pair not available?

Are we in for Minor?
7 Innings, our lineup can be damn good with homers, but he's got 10 SO this evening. Is this an audition?
Prolly not gonna trade with the Gers, but something to consider I guess.
-
Minor really settled in and carved the Astros up after the homer frenzy.
-
Good grief, Altuve. Do you care?
-
Buckle up.

Suck it, Odor.

Yordan reminds be of McCovey. His number sure but his swing too. McCovey’s was longer.
I was thinking a little like a cross between McCovey and Stargell.
-
James got it done.
Offense, please feel free to do a little more work.
-
Nice.
Pet peeve. If a dude is 6’8” or close, that rectangle needs to go above his belt. They use the same one regardless of the batter.
-
James got it done.

Osuna needs the rest.

Bregman hit in the head with a FB.
Scary shit.
But he's ok.

Did he just take a bow coming off the mound? In the 8th...of game he was losing...in July?

He should be thanking God Bregman is OK.

But the Astros did not play well.
Hope they get rested up.
-
Well, someone tomorrow is gonna pay for that--- LeClerc's antics.
Probably Shin Choo in the hip with a 4 seamer
If not that then Col Mustard in the conservatory with lead pipe.

Has anyone heard who’s on the mound tomorrow?

Has anyone heard who’s on the mound tomorrow?
Rogelio Armenteros.

Orbit.
If I were the Rangers, I’d see if he can field a bunt.
Armenteros is listed for Sunday
-
Has anyone heard who’s on the mound tomorrow?
Urquidy. Tyler White was just DFA’d and Urqiudy will take his spot and start tomorrow.
EDIT: Urquidy is being called up and will take White’s spot on the roster. No confirmation as I type this that he is starting tomorrow.

Hmm. He’s kind of hot and cold. Hope he’s due for a hot outing.
-
Well we all knew that was coming.
I hope White finds success somewhere that doesn't negatively impact the Astros.

Whoever it is Sambito wants him to bean the first guy he sees.

474 feet? The right fielder didn’t even budge.
It’s a shame there was no statcast for the Bonds era.

A beauty to watch! So effortless, like swatting a fly.
Shouldn't be long b/f there will be 10 minutes of Yordan highlights on YouTube.

Not sure I said that exactly. I think it is difficult to attribute "what I want" from one post -- other than an Astros win.
Was saying that hitting Houston's best hitter in the head on 3-2 and then behaving like an ass might get a response.
This was more speculation that we might see more fireworks tomorrow (now today).
LeClerc might be the spark is all. Why? Well half of our nation is experiencing a literal dome of heat. Tempers flare and get hot. Probably on the baseball diamond too.
