Beckham sent a cement mixer into orbit.
2-0 Mariners with Astros batting in the 2nd.
-
Brantley and Yuli walk, Chirinos Ks, then Brantley scores on a smash off the 2B's glove by Josh.
Jake clears the bases with a double.
3-2 good guys.
-
Home plate ump squeezing the Seattle pitcher and awful Seattle defense nets the Astros 3 runs.
-
I have only just now begun to contemplate the “Y” in “Myles.”

Girardi talks too much.
Kikuchi isn't getting any help from HPU.
-
Verlander is supposed to be carrying this team. He is doing anything but.
Pick your internet hot takes wisely.

I have the volume down and Nebraska on the Sonos UP.

Straw has acceptable speed.
-
Verlander is supposed to be carrying this team. He is doing anything but.
This is a load of bullshit.
-
Altuve has looked like himself since returning.
-
Kikuchi’s must have fedexed his hat to Hideo Nomo to have the bill shaped.

Nebraska?
-
2 pop ups from Bregman so far. Granted, he barely missed a home run in between.
-
Nebraska?
The sequel to Oklahoma.
-
Mariners with 2nd/3rd, no out in the 3rd.
-
The sequel to Oklahoma.
Performed by Kansas.
-
Does Girardi get paid by the word? Goodness gracious.
-
JV is not sharp so far. I wonder if his command will sharpen up when his velocity increases later in the game.
-
Run across on a 5-3 FC. Runner advances to 3rd when Straw is slow getting there.

Never thought I'd see "Straw" and "slow" in the same sentence.
-
Damage: 1 run and a bunch of pitches from JV.
5-3 Astros

He forgot to cover 3B. Got caught watching the game.

He forgot to cover 3B. Got caught watching the game.
I wonder what’s more effective at fixing that. A kangaroo court fine or a steely stare from JV as he gets back to the dugout.
-
I liked last inning better.
-
Apparently covering bases is optional tonight.

Shocked that Bregman didn't go home

No chance. Gordon was flying on contact.

Thought he had a good shot at him. But he got the out to limit the damage.
-
Horrible AB by Marisnick ends the 3rd. Flailing at sliders out of the zone.
-
Marisnick saw four straight off speed pitches in the dirt. And struck out.
-
Reddick's ball on his first AB was ruled an error, that last one was a hit by default.
Doesn't exactly even out since there's no rbi.
-

No excuse from Gordon. Geez, youre the second baseman, you should know to cover 2B with a runner on 1B and a ground ball to SS.
-

I'd rule that one an error too. Should have been an out with ordinary effort
-

That replay looked like he had a shot to me too, but I'm guessing he was running thru it in his head before the pitch and knowing Gordon was the runner he was going to first on any ball that wasn't sharply hit.
-
Anyone else want to join me in a class action lawsuit for the ear cancer I'm going to sue Fox for?
Also, a friend of mine asked me earlier today, "hey, guess how the Yankees game ended?!" I knew it was 6-6 after one, so my first guess was 35-34. After he said "more realistic than that" I guessed 17-12. I was off by one.
-
Looks like Gordon got benched.
-
I wonder if Gordon is getting yanked for lollygagging.
-
Man, what a slog for Verlander tonight.
-
Narvaez has his road turtle outfit on.
-
Straw really doesn't like to swing the bat.
-
Straw really doesn't like to swing the bat.
And was shaking his head at the call when the ball was easily in the strike zone.
-
Wow, that was a fucking pipe ball for a Santana home run.
Sure would be nice if the starting pitching would stop sucking ass more than one game at a time.
-
Another HR.

Wade Miley can't pitch em all.
-
JV just not putting guys away.
-
Another HR.
1/3 of all hits allowed. Kind of mind-boggling.

Have they all come with two out?
-

Some of them are lead-off shots.

He does not discriminate as to 0, 1 or 2 outs: 8-8-7

This is literally the worst broadcast of all time. What the fuck are these two clowns babbling about?
Not even sort of talking about the action.

It is profoundly bad.
-
Joe Girardi is an absolute bowl of diarrhea on this broadcast. Jesus Christ, WHY?!
-
Girardi - "If the ball had broken like he thought it might have, it could have been on the barrel and went where he wanted it to."
WHAT?! Why is this on national TV?!
-
Rondon has turned into a third-rate mop up guy.
-
Rondon is a highwire act every appearance these days. Nibbling down and wild up.
-
Rondon is fucking awful, in comes Harris.
And Girardi is Weapons Grade Word Salad.
-
Hope the five the Astros scored early are enough, because the offense is fucking putrid now.
-
And we're tied. Another blown save.
-
2 outs, 2 strikes, time for a home run.
-

Welp

And we're tied. Another blown save.
Time for a fat pitch right down the fucking middle.
Great.

Unfortunately, not enough.

Mammoth Titanic, I believe were his exact words.
-
I blame that HR on the stupid wave. The BBG’s are not to be trifled with.
-
Idiotic wave passing home plate just as the game tying HR is hit.
The BBGs were displeased.
-
According to the ultra slo mo replay, all the fucktards were doing the wave during the wind up, pitch, and home run.

And here's the buttertub that hit the homer waddling through their dugout begging for someone to talk to him.
This broadcast, Jesus Christ.

And then Girardi proceeds to tell us about 4 times that Brantley doesn't strike out much.

Did Yuli touch the bag at all?
-
Guys, you have to TOUCH THE BASE
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
-
There's an epidemic of bag-missing.
-
Ok, so I was JOKING about not forgetting to touch 1st base.
-
Discomfort and base missing are approaching contagion levels.

Yuli missed 1B. Awesome.
-
This is mind boggling. Twice in two nights.
-
Unbelievable.

Jesus Christ, Girari.
He's not sure it's reviewable if the guy toched the bag or not.
You fucking moron.
Also, fuck you, Yuli. That's fucking horrific.
-
He was EASILY fucking safe if he just stepped on the bag.
That is inexcusably fucking terrible.
What the fuck is wrong with this team?
-
Why did Yuli look in at the throw?
-
Why did Yuli look in at the throw?
THAT was the problem. He didn't touch first base because he simply couldn't reach it. And he couldn't reach it because he had shortened his stride in the middle of the run when he looked at Seager making the play.
-
It's a good thing the Astros have a coach like Hinch and not me. I'dve been out of the dugout with a bat to hit Yuli after that stupid fucking shit.
-
Why did Yuli look in at the throw?
To get to the other side.
Oh, wait. Never mind.
-
I'dve been out of the dugout with a bat to hit Yuli after that stupid fucking shit.
Probably would have missed. Or popped him up.
-
Nice inning from McHugh. I wonder if he can work himself back into the rotation?
-
McHughs sweeping slider looks great tonight.
-

Don't get ahead of yourself.
We need pen help too.
-
That half-inning was the brightest spot of the game. Maybe it will inspire the bats.
-
This guy gets REALLY excited over pop ups.

Well, then, he's come to the right place.

How Bout another Walk Off?
-
Walk off
Walk off
With hope in your heart
and you'll never walk alone
You'll neeeeev-er
Walk
Alone

Dammit.
-
Fucking goddammit. Any other part of the park, Springer.

Springer sure thought he had that one

Bregman took a thigh high fastball right down the fucking pipe for strike one.
His habit of taking meatballs for first pitch strikes is fucking infuriating.

YNWA! Talk about Six Baby.
Gamecast on Altuve & Bregman looked like if they hit it to right center with Elias' velocity, it could have been over.
True, am I imagining things from a computer keyboard?

One of these days he might consider ambushing once of those.
But not today.
-
Extra innings. Yay.
-
Man, I am so fucking over the shitty balls and strikes this season.
There have been SO MANY pitches that have caught the plate entirely that have been called balls this year. Umpiring has been extra trash this season.
-
Nice inning, Devo.
Now 1 run for the home team, please.
-
Devi looked good. Get him a run, please.
-
If Brantley had run hard right away, he's on 3rd right now.
-
LA
FUCKING
PINA
-
Doesn't matter!
-
YULI!!
-
Yuli clearly has some discomfort.
-
Red Lobsters
Two (3 LOB's) in front of Gurriel
Two (3 LOB's) behind Gurriel
Reddick has 2 LOB's
Gurriel is the Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I wonder when the last time a player had walkoff RBI on consecutive nights was?
How about that followed by going on the IL?

Yes, you would not be a good manager. If you had beaten the shit out of Yuli with a bat, he wouldn't have won it.
-
Yuli clearly has some discomfort.
Day off tmw most likely.
Well deserved.
-
What's up Gurriel? Discomfort?
-

That's why I'm sitting here drinking beer watching the game.

Clearly limping. My guess is he pulled something on that lunge for not-quite-first.

I'm hoping it's just a jammed ankle rather than a pull.

MLB Stats on twitter says that Biggio did it 1991 (probably not the IL part, though).

It's clearly a pulled pineapple.
-

Definitely jammed something coming down hard missing the base. The trainer was attending to him after he returned to the dugout after the review.
