Peacock got the first 2 outs quickly, then forgot how to throw a strike and walked 2 before getting a flyball to deep center.
No score after 1.
-
I like that swing by Yuli.
Yes, the result probably colors my opinion, but I like him being not trying to lift that.
-
Chapman with an E5 on a dp ball.
Please take advantage.
-
Wtf Yuli?
-
Yuli takes off way too early, gets picked off.
Boneheaded play.
-
White battles from 0-2 to a full count. Fouled off several but eventually flies out to center. That's the inning.

"Cripple fight!"
-
Kinda crickets tonight.
10-pitch AB, White made him work.
-
Single, walk, gidp, flyball for the A's.
-
Jake with a 1 out walk and a stolen base.
Slide was very ploppy.
-
Fisher Ks (foul tip).
Up to Bregman.
-
Lineout to short.
Rats.
-
Run production is inconsistent with the split squad.
-
0-2 meatball.
2-0 Oakland.
-
Shit! Two run jack from Grossman.
-
Middle middle on an 0-2 pitch.
-
Very nice sliding catch on a foul pop by White to end the inning.
-
Brantley leadoff single followed by some stuff that did not result in any runs (had to step away).
A's get a 2 out single and nothing else.
Still 2-0. Heading to the 5th.
-
Shit! Two run jack from Grossman.
Grossman singled and scored on homer by Chapman.
-
Kemp caught stealing to end the top of the 5th.
Got a face full of Siemian's leg for his trouble.
-
The little league base running is infuriating

A's stand one.
Still 2-0.
End 5.
(Any time now, offense)

Matt Olson’s stance reminds me of Shawn Green. Holds the bat high and over the plate. I hated Shawn Green...
Eta: anyone remember the time he basically left his elbow IN the strike zone. Got hit. Then proceeded to throw a hissy fit that ended up in some crazy nonsense between the Dodgers and Astros?
-
Fisher walk leads to bubkus.
-
Red dick
-
Reddick blast makes it 2-1.
-
White got under a true center cut 90 mph FB.
Even he was frustrated he didn't cover it.
Worked a walk, but he will not see a better pitch to hit all season.
-
Kemp/Straw 2020!
-
Kemp doubles over Grossman's head in left.
Straw (running for White) whizzes around to score from first.
He fast.
Tied 2-2.
-
What a beautiful baseball moment that was. Great call by Hinch to put Straw in that situation, Kemp knew exactly what he wanted to do and did it. Bravo.

Gotta luv it!
-
Two cookies from Rondon to Laureano put a quick damper on the festivities....
-
Super Jack!

Tough play!

Tough play!
Great play!
-
Leadoff double, sac bunt, Blue star 6-3, and 4-3 ends the threat.
Still tied at 2.
-
Fisher homers to center!

Got out in 4.7 seconds if I heard correctly. To dead center.

So your saying it was "well struck?"

Play wasn't even close.
-
Yuli ruled out on a close play ... on review he's safe.

Not sure yet. I could use another statistic to confirm what I saw...

Mid 8.
Astros 3-2.
Pressly time.
-
Kemp gets into the act.
Nice diving stop/throw for out #2 in the 8th.
-
Merely an observation, not a complaint:
HPU's zone has been consistently small. Neither team getting calls on the edges.
Consistency is appreciated.

Yes!
White, Mayfield, and Kemp came through on the field, Straw on the bases, and Fisher with the bat.
Good backups!
-
Top 9
Chirinos, Mayfield, Kemp due up.

Way to take a crap on my post, blue.

No joke. That was bizarre considering the other 8 innings. Oh well...
-
To the bottom of the 9th.
3-2 Astros.
Osuna in with Cahana, Profar, and Laureano due up.
-
It’s a good thing nobody has suggested the nickname “Assume-a” as that would certainly anger the BBG’s.
Astros win!
-
Perfect 9th.
Astros win 3-2.
Every call up made a play.

Astros win!
Zero hits from the A's after Mayfield's great play in the 7th, one hit since the 5th inning! (Courtesy of the A's announcers.)
The games are tighter w/o the MBP's, but they are sweet with the surprises from the subs....

What a fantastic team win. What a horoughly enjoyable game of baseball that was to watch, great grilling and beer drinking weather on the backyard deck too. That 5pm shower really made for a pleasant night.
