Going for 11 in a row...
-
White and Springer both had putrid at bats that inning. Lucky to have a run.
-
Everyone grabs shades en route to the field, but White doesn’t need any to miss a pop up.

I didn't have much faith he was going to get there either way.

Correa!

Correa! Laser

That was an absolute bomb!
-
CORREAAAA!!!
-
Yippie!
-
Correa's opposite field stroke is ridiculous right now.
-
I guess the Red Sox will never get a new stadium.
-
Vasquez is a butcher behind the plate.
-
Josh's offseason work on driving balls to left has paid off big time.
-
Jake demonstrates the ultimate in not being able to identify a pitch as he strikes out swinging at a ball that hits him in the leg.
-
Springer K’s for the third time today.

Springer K’s for the third time today.
Might need to give his playing time to Jake.

Marisnik clearly has no idea where Sale's sliders are going. He's taken two cookies and flailed at some pitches that weren't even close.
-
Tyler White moving quickly to his right for the final out. - Things you don’t hear every day. Or like ever.

Eh, he’s allowed a down day once in awhile. Hopefully he can avoid the golden sombrero.
-

He’s been pulled. Hopefully it’s a precautionary measure.

That was to his left.
-
That was to his left.
He's so fast that he took the long way to his right and wound up on his left.

Yuli flashed some leather to retire JBJR

Good thing too, because the next guy didn't leave much doubt.
-
The butcher giveth and he taketh.
-
That was a nice snag by Yuli.
On that tater Miley glanced up and asked for a new ball 12 seconds before it landed.
No doubter.
-
Springer our of the game. He has been grabbing at his back since the last home stand.

Nip that in the bud, por favor.
-
And that’s what happens when you run out of second basemen

Damn it.
-
Good grief.
-
Well, this has been an unfortunate turn of events. Jake needs to get on his horse and take command there. He loped over.

I thought yuli had that until right before the end and then I started thinking he may not get that ball. Bad luck.
Stupid stadium.

Josh too.
That ball ended up in the worst spot possible.
-
I am thankful we had a fallible human and not a computer behind the plate for that strike 3 call against JD.

Yes.
That was generous.
-
Yuli continues the assault on the centerfield wall.
-
Yuli's like, "Sorry guys."
-
I hope the Tyler White experiment is just about over.
-
Tyler needs to apologize for that AB.
-
Here is that Jake swing from earlier:

Man, Sale we missing his spots by a mile to Chirinos.
-
That was to his left.
Oops. So it was.

Zero pitches over the plate to Reddick in that AB.
-
Lower back tightness for Springer. Maybe Correa can help him out.
-
Ugh GIDP ends the threat.
-
Worst possible outcome from that Jake AB.

I was actually thinking that we would probably be ok because Jake would strike out and give Kemp a chance.
-
I am skeptical that Valdez's tightrope act will work against Boston, but I guess we'll see.

If he ever throws strikes consistently, look out.
But I guess that's the story with a lot of young pitchers.
-
Time for Bregman to pick everybody up.
-
Another GIDP
-
We had been mercifully free of GIDPs recently. I'm not happy to see them return.
-
GIDP ends the 6th and 7th innings.

There's the familiar replay kick to the junk.

Astros got a couple of breaks the last few games that had big impacts. I'm not sweating that one.

It looked like he was out.
The nut shot was the brief relief when he was called safe being replaced by the gidp.
-
There's the familiar replay kick to the junk.
Sadly, I think that was the correct call.
-

That’s a replay tap on the arm.
Altuve’s “fan interference” was a replay kick to the junk.

Jesus, you'd think that by now they would have figured out that popups are moving back toward center field.
-
It's the fucking Bad News Bears on the right side.
-
Yuli 2.0
-
I can't wait for the team to leave this shit-hole.
-
Is that Boston's first lead in the series? I can't remember if they ever had a lead yesterday.
-
This game has been teetering on the edge since the first pitch.

They led 1-0 in the 1st.
-

It ain’t the field.
-
They led 1-0 in the 1st.
Duh. Remembering is hard.
-
It ain’t the field.
It is where they are playing.

We are down three players. Luck we are close.
-
This is part of the problem with 13 pitchers. You get three extra position players, and when two are out, you end up with White and Gurriel on the right side. That's two runs the Sox don't have with a competent second baseman.
-

Yes. The score might be different if Kemp PH for Jake after Sale was pulled. Springer would have been waiting on deck. Instead, there was no alternative to Jake, and he GIDP.

Kemp was not going to PH for Jake, no matter what.
-
Kemp was not going to PH for Jake, no matter what.
I would have been tempted to squeeze with Jake at that point.
-
That last pitch to Correa should have traveled about 500 feet.
-
I would have been tempted to squeeze with Jake at that point.
Me too.
Yuli was the runner and the was a force at home so higher risk.

Yes, but less likelihood of the double play, I think.
-
Now would be a nice time for White to hit his first homer of the season.

You're a funny guy.

Exactly.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd squeeze with the bases loaded. Jake hit it to the one spot they could turn two.
-
Reddick with a 1-out walk is the tying run for Jake...
-
Jake still can't handle the breaking ball.
-
Kemp up with two out...tying run on base...
-
Well shoot.
-
Time to forget this one and get ready for the White Sox. If you don't pitch well against them, they'll put some runs on the board.
-
On to the White Sox.
Here's to quick healing.
-
If George really needs a few days off, I wonder if they'll send Diaz to the IL so that they can bring somebody up.
-
Damn shame to lose one on defense after you got to Sale early
