What a play by Kemp!!!!! I know that is his natural position but that looked like he’s been playing there every day.

He was a two-time All-Star?
He was a 7th round pick, two time Astro. Don't think he was an All-Star. So cross him off the list.

Hamstring discomfort for Diaz. They'll amputate tomorrow.

I played goalie in soccer. That is a close as I want to get when it comes to having things launched at me. Catchers are a special breed.

Yeah, I don't get it. It's May, not August.
-
Rick Porcello is a middle of the road, shitty pitcher. The fact he is dominating the Astros is fucking embarrassing, and the fact that the Astros always suck against him is fucking infuriating.
-
T7:
Gurriel...0-2...grounds out 6-3
Kemp...0-2...1-2...2-2...3-2...swings at ball four in his eyes and pops out to shallow LF
Chirinos pops out F4
1-0 Sox at the stretch
-

Stanton in the lounge chair: Rick Porcello has absolutely carved up the Astros with a 90 mph fastball.
-
Also frustrating that Cole could only get through 5 innings. At least he didn’t allow any runs.
-
B7:
Harris in...
Benintendi strikes out swinging...tried to check but he went around
Betts flies out F9 at the wall on the first pitch
Martinez...0-2...strikes out swinging

He had to work hard. Lots of traffic every inning. Never had a clean one.

Impressive inning by Harris.

Jake with a leadoff double! Let's make him pay, fellas

Springer Dinger!!!

George springer, MFers!

Man o man Correa got a hanger and pulled off of it.

It looked like Carlos missed a cement mixer down the middle.

Brantley seems like the type of dude who doesn’t do much other than play baseball, and he’s very happy with that.

Devers chops up the 1B line, Pressly comes in fields it, falling into foul territory throws it over Devers's shoulder for the 1-3 putout...another blue star play!
3-1 Astros
-
Pressly made a ridiculously tough play to end the inning. I haven’t seen many plays like that.

I thought that was a mistake to try to field that ball, but he make a helluva play.
-
Pressly passes Kimbrel and stands alone w 39 scoreless.
-
These guys are really putting on a show this season on defense.
-
I have no idea how Yuli saw that ball.

Hembree in for the Sox
Kemp...full count...strikes out looking at a fastball right down the middle, flips his bat like he somehow thought it was a ball

Marisnick strikes out swinging
To the bottom of the 9th...Astros up 3-1
-
Kemp...full count...strikes out looking at a fastball right down the middle, flips his bat like he somehow thought it was a ball
I guess that all he could do on that one was hope that the ump missed it.
-
I wonder if Super Jack is on his way to the airport.
-
Maybe we shouldn't throw fastballs right down the middle to Vasquez. Or anybody else, for that matter.
-
Sox with the tying run at the plate...two out...

Don’t need a proprietary model or statcast to know that.

4-pitch walk with two outs brings Betts to the plate as the winning run...

This is a little more stressful than I would prefer.

Osuna in to try to close it out...
Chavis...0-2...grounds out 5-3

Nunez bounces out 5-3 on the first pitch
Benintendi...3-0...walks
Betts...0-2...1-2...lines out to LF
Astros win!!!

Good win! Osuna wasn’t exactly sharp against Betts, but he got the out.

When that ball came off of Betts's bat, I thought we were in real trouble. I'm glad it was hit right at Brantley.

Few are. But the pen was excellent tonight...outstanding work by Harris, Pressly and Osuna against a really tough lineup.
-

Didn’t they used to run a commercial where a fan pulls up some quick stats, takes a seat at the stadium, puts his glove in the air, and a dinger flies right into it?
Anyway, that’s how this team’s positioning feels sometimes.
-
Did Harris get the win?
-
Did Harris get the win?
Yes. Harris with the win, and Osuna with the save.
-
I emerged from the choir concert in time to see that the Astros had a 3-1 lead.
Got the app going as they showed the Pressly replay. Wow.
Watched Osuna finish it as we chowed on cake in the cafeteria.
Enjoyed reviewing the TZ once we got home.
Who was the Name that Astro?
-
That throw on the sac fly from Martinez took its first hop on the dirt between 1st and 2nd.
That seemed to be set up perfectly for the defense. Glad he snapped it.
-
Who was the Name that Astro?
Get back, Lo-retta!
Or, if for some reason you prefer Joe Ely, Cool Rockin' Lo-retta!

Loretta and Blum were somewhat similar players. Versatility on Blum’s side and power on Loretta’s.

FB in, Betts is locked in like Springer. Not sure the pitcher can do much but throw strikes and hope.

I was hoping that we would finish with the Red Sox before Betts found his stride, but it doesn't look like that was meant to be.

Three line drive outs last night. Watch out tonight.
