Seattle throwing BP for the Rangers this weekend.
-
Game is on ESPN.
Worrell button activated.
-
Well, after the farce that was the Rockets game, I'd like to see a well-umpired contest this evening.
-
2 out walk goes unpunished.
It has to be hard to see with the pitcher in sunlight and home in the shade.
-

You just reactivated my ulcer.
-
Half assed pbp update:
Scoreless as we head to the bottom of the 2nd.
-
Correa flashing some leather tonight.
-
And he extended his hitting streak to 8.
-
Correa stranded.
Carrasco with a nice slider to get Josh.
-
Bregman brought his glove too.
-
MLB sure is pushing Vlad Jr. I'll never understand why they haven't done the same thing for Trout.
-
That was a helpful turn of events.
-
4-3 dp ends the inning . . . Or does it.
TV viewers wouldn't know because ESPN went straight to commercial.
Sparks/Ford say runner at 1st was safe.
-
Oops, not as helpful as I originally thought.

ESPN sucks, and every batted ball sounds like a shot.
Miley cleans it up.
-
Wade takes care of it himself with a K.
-
Oops, not as helpful as I originally thought.
Miley don't care
-
ESPN sucks <snip>

They really should. It can't be that hard to build a campaign around "think of any baseball player you've ever heard of, now go watch Mike Trout be better than all of 'em."
Then again, Vladito is breaking into the league with sky-high name recognition from his pops. Add that to his insane talent and he's a marketer's dream.

If he's any good.
-
Carrasco looks sharp tonight.
-
George.
The bat.
Swing it.
End 3
0-0
-
Carrasco looks sharp tonight.
Yep.

From what I understand, Trout does not like the spotlight and is a very low-key guy. I guess you could sell him as "Come see Mike Trout, he's got the talent of Mickey Mantle and the charisma of Jeff Bagwell."
-
Shit.
-
That was not a good changeup
-
That was not a good changeup
No, not at all.
-
They're starting to figure Miley out.
-
Can we figure Carrasco out soon please?
-
Can we figure Carrasco out soon please?
Generous strike zone.
-
He's nasty tonight.
-
He's nasty tonight.
Yeah, in his 5 starts 3 were very good and 2 he got bombed. We get the former tonight.
But on the bright side he's only averaging 13 pitches an inning.
-
Santana oppo taco makes it 1-0.
Headed to the 5th.
-
Broken bat bloop hit and a slow roller to the vacated SS position gets 1st/2nd with outs.
Lindor lines out to Kemp...
-
Now juiced with 2 outs
-
Miley induces a tapper to get Santana 1-3.
Whew.
To the bottom of the 5th.
-
Exhale.
-
I flinched at a tapper.
-
Looks like we may get to start talking about the home-field offense again.
-
Carrasco is untouchable and only 65 pitches or so to get thru 5.
1-0 Indigenous Peoples.
-
Springer got on his horse for that one!
-
Springer on his horse to track one down off the bat of Kipnis near the wall in center.
Miley done.
5.2 IP
1 R
Responsible for runner on 1st.
-
I'd really like the astros to score a lot of runs in this game.
BTW, arky have me his tickets so I'm sitting close to the ball boy praying no fouls come at me.
-
I wish I had as much confidence in Devo as AJ does.
-
Devo strut!
-
I wish I had as much confidence in Devo as AJ does.
He was sharp in that AB.
Bet he'll get the start of the 6th too.
-
Looks like we may get to start talking about the home-field offense again.
Jose Altuve has the 9th highest batting average on the team...so there's that.
-
Chirinos gets a walk to start the 6th
-
Perfect sac bunt by Kemp gets Chirinos to 2nd
-
So late on that first FB
-
Bouncing grounder to SS moves runner to 3rd.
2 outs for Altuve.
-
Weak flyball off the label.
End 6
1-0 Cle
-
At some point the leaders of this team have to drive in a run.
-
Ugh
-
Cubs and D-Backs are going to going to wreck their bullpens for the rest of the week.
-
Framber gets the ball for the 7th.
-
5 pitches.
3 outs.
Nice, Framber.
Now let's get to Carrasco.
-
I had to make a short jaunt up 59 to western Louisiana this weekend. We stayed at a big convention hotel in Shreveport. There’s always some municipality-subsidized activity going on there to justify the place’s existence. In addition to a bunch of velvety-stached kids in white tuxedos hoping to dry hump prom dates, there were many youth (middle school?) travel teams staying there for a tourney. I don’t know if I saw every team that played, but every team I saw wore some riff on the Astros navy and orange digs. Some were better than others, but they were all some sharping looking ballplayers. Anyways, the symbolic representation of how far this team has come and how many fans they’ve won over wasn’t lost on me.

-
Bregman off the label lazily into shallow left center.
Brantley lines one into right.
Second hit of the night for the Astros.
-
Time to quit fucking around.
-
Carlos quickly in 0-2 hole
-
Correa just missed strike one, and he knew it.
-
Ks looking at a pitch at the knees.
2 out 1 on for Yuli.
-
Correa just missed strike one, and he knew it.
He was looking first pitch strike and got one
-
Carrasco is running these balls in toward the handle on the righties very effectively.
-
Why swing at a slider that starts below the knees?
Not picking it up.
-
I guess Yuli got Budgirl's message.
-
Crawford double ties it!
-
I thought he didn’t hit that as far as he did

-
If ever there were a Crawford Box RBI, that was the one.
-
CHIRINOS!
-
Adios Chirinos!!!!

That, however, was a homer anywhere!
-
Damn, that was nice
-
Ladies and gentlemen, Yuli G! Chrinos too!!!!
-
Kemp with the bunt single!
Top of the order, Carrasco stays for now.
-
Half ass pbp clarification:
Josh was intentionally walked ahead of the Chirinos blast.
-
Springer singles. Kemp to second.
5th hit if the inning.
Carrasco done.
-
I guess Yuli got Budgirl's message.
I had just said he was due.
And Robbi hit a bomb.
-
Time for Altuve to deliver.
-
The worm certainly turned in a hurry for Carrasco.
Who started it? Michael Fucking Brantley.
-
Carrasco's statement to the press:

-
The worm certainly turned in a hurry for Carrasco.
Who started it? Michael Fucking Brantley.
MFB
-
Altuve 6-4 FC.
He's 1 for 11 for the series.
To the 8th.
Budgirl's wish has been granted.
4-1 Astros
-
I had just said he was due.
And Robbi hit a bomb.
Quick.
Wish for stellar pitching freon the home team.
-
I hope they're not pushing their luck with Valdez.
-
Framber still pitching.
Jake in CF, Springer to RF, Reddick to left.
-
Handsome Jake in now. A win would make this game great.
-
Radio speculation is Osuna not available, Pressly preferably won't see action nor Harris.
So Framber needs to be effective.
-
Well, Valdez proved me wrong.
-
Bloop single, slow 5-4 FC, a K, and a 4-3 grounder.
Framber with just 4 balls over his 2 innings.
-
So they are playing Bon Jovi livin on a prayer. A lot of the stadium was singing.
Just an observation.
-
Well, Valdez proved me wrong.
We've seen effective Framber before, but that was effective and efficient Framber.
-

Well I hope we're more than halfway there.
-
Radio speculation is Osuna not available, Pressly preferably won't see action nor Harris.

Yep, what I guessed. Both pitched 2 yesterday.
-
So, on MLB app Gameday, there's a pretty good representation of MMPUS. But all of the sign in the outfield are MLB logos...so the big Oxy sign in LF is the MLB logo, the community leaders signs, are MLB logos or MLB.tv logos. Then there is the big sign in CF that reads "Safety's Tacos". I've never eaten at "Safety's".
-
Bregman walk, MFB F8, Correa walk
2 on 1 out for Yuli
-
Rodriguez says Bauer has a great personality.
-
Rodriguez says Bauer has a great personality.
Bauer or Bauers?
-
Tito to the pen for a lefty to face Josh.
Anybody want AJ to counter with White?
Hello?
Anyone?
Is this thing on?
-
A prophylactic with every taco.
-
The guys behind me are taking about things and I really want to correct them. I only know the correct things because of you guys. But I'm being a lady and keeping quiet.
-
Then there is the big sign in CF that reads "Safety's Tacos". I've never eaten at "Safety's".
Well they’re not going to give free advertising to Torchy’s.
-
A prophylactic with every taco.
Better than in every taco.
-
I think he said Bauer. They had a picture of Bauer up on the screen.
-
Safe bet they're better than Torchy's
-
Reddick flies out to left center.
To the 9th.
4-1 Astros
-
Ryan's in
-
Radio speculation is Osuna not available, Pressly preferably won't see action nor Harris.
So Framber needs to be effective.
Radio guys were wrong about Pressly.
-
Well they’re not going to give free advertising to Torchy’s.
Yes. My point was that every other advertisement on the app was replaced by an MLB advertisement. Except that one. I thought it was odd that the most prominent one is not, and the name was rather random.
-
That was an unwelcome development.
-
Pressly in.
Kipnis 4-3, Naquin doubles off the scoreboard in left, Bauers Ks swinging at filth, Lindor Ks at more filth.
Astros win 4-1
Miley was good.
Framber was good.
Pressly was good.
Chirinos with the big blast.
-
Woo hoo!
-
Nice split.
The way Carrasco was going it was looking bleak.
Weird Minnesota/Mexico road trip coming up.
-
Good work by Framber.
-
Rodriguez says Bauer has a great personality.
I doubt Rodriguez even knows what a personality is.

"Do I get that in liquid or pill form?"
