Title: NLCS
Post by: astrojo on October 12, 2018, 07:57:40 pm
Machado 2nd inning HR off Gonzales, Dodgers lead 1-0. Woodruff in to pitch the 3rd with the pitchers spot up 1st in the bottom of the inning.

Annnnd Woodruff bats for himself and drills a HR to right center off Kershaw. Tied 1-1

Catcher Grandal struggling. 2 passed balls so far and now catchers interference gives him an error.  Bases loaded 1 out

Grandal is having a rough night behind the dish. Error and two passed balls...by the third inning.

These two fucking idiots in the booth are shocked that the umpire caught a plain as fucking day catcher's interference.

How can there not be a few more knowledgeable people that can call a baseball game in this whole world? HOW?!

All that and Brewers get only 2 runs, could have used a big hit from Moustakis, but he struck out on 3 pitches.

Imagine the Astros bullpen with Hader in it. In fairness, however, the Astros might not have been where they were last year without Fiers' mid-season contribution. Gomez is the total zero in that trade.

I read where Counsel said he before hand he was pulling out all the stops to win Game 1.  He felt it was the most important game of the series, and he would do anything to win it.  Not sure of the wisdom of that, but that may have been his thinking there.

Surely any elimination game is the most important.  I may not be keeping up with current events, but I'm pretty sure it's impossible to get eliminated in game #1.

If you win every elimination game - like the Astros did last year - you win the whole fucking thing.

I absolutely understand this sentiment. I remember the whole "renting first place" thing in '86 and the tumult of '80 and I stand behind no one in my loathing of all things Lasorda.

It can only be surpassed by one person: Selig.

I hate the idea of Selig's Brewers (and they'll always be Selig's Brewers to me) having a NL pennant to go with their AL pennant. That should be only for Astros. I hate the idea of any baseball joy coming to Selig or his demon spawn.

Therefore I am rooting for a rematch in the WS.
