Title: AL Wild Card
Post by: Col. Sphinx Drummond on October 03, 2018, 06:34:45 pm
The pregame chit-chat has started on ESPN. And who are they talking about??? …  Jeter, of course. So what about the that alternate channel I heard about?

I thought it was going to be on TBS. I’d try there.

I’m glad we have a GameZone-ish thread for this game like the NL thread from last night. Makes watching the game that much more enjoyable.

Is there a single Astros fan out there that would prefer the Yankees to win over the A’s?  Even one?

Wow, this is Stanton’s first post season appearance.

This is a craptastic start.  Why start a guy with a 4+ ERA in a win or go home game? Terrible decision imo

It was extremely satisfying to watch the Astros beat the Yankees last year. I'm not sure the A's would be the same.

Fiers or Edwin Jackson were the other options I think.

Good thing the A’s are known for their offense.

If you thought that the Cubs fans were insufferable...

“Whoooooooaaaaaaaaaaaa” on a pop fly to shallow center.

Fiers not even on the wild card roster, I guess holding him in case they advance?

11 pitchers: Buchter, Familia, Hendriks, Jackson, Kelley, Pagan, Petit, Rodney, Treinen, Trivino, Wendelken

If you thought that the Cubs fans were insufferable...

The thesaurus might be needed to do them justice.

Win or lose,  at least they all have to go home and live with each other.

Having to watch the game on my iPhone, for some reason I can't get it on my TV app. I have to sign-in using my mom and dad's Uverse username and password. Maybe I'm being too cheap...

Oakland has two on via an error and a walk. One out in the top of the 4th.

2 on, 1 out for the A's on the 4th....

Piscotty flies out to shallow RF, 2 out 2 on.

Laureano works the count full. Ball 4. Bases juiced, 2 out. Still a no hitter.

That's bizarre. I'm in NC but am watching on Roku's TBS app. Your friend is saying it's blacked out on cable?

Not sure. That sure seems like a more likely explanation.

Yeah, you have to actually get the channel and turn your TV to that channel to watch the game.  You can also watch it on MLB.TV, but again, you have to actually get TBS on your cable or satellite package.

I am not a fan of the A's strategy of striking out w/RISP.

Hey Oakland,  you might want to think about actually scoring some of these baserunners.

Excuse me double for Judge to leadoff the 6th.

Initial bounce was 6 inches foul but it corkscrewed fair over the bag.

And he's promptly doubled home.

3-0.

As the Yankees seem to be on a roll now, you could have bought this bottle of Macallan whisky to drown your sorrows in:

Maybe there's something to be said for getting the shitgasm of BOS/NYY out of the way in the ALDS.

I hate the Yankees.

Still built to win at home.  I think last year they won all their post-season games at home and lost all of them on the road.

Yep, questionable starting pitcher, wasted opportunities in the middle of the game, and Treinen waiting until this game to not be Treinen-like.

The A's can gargle my mayo, bunch of fucking small market, shit stadium playing, pain in the ass, no stealing, love walking, sideways hat wearing motherfuckers.

I look forward to watching the Yankees get undressed by Boston. In prime time, I imagine.

Good news: Yankees-Redsox for a maximum of 5 games.
Bad news: Yankees-Redsox for up to 5 games.

And if, BBGs willing, the Astros play beyond the LDS, an arduous task only achievable by hard work AND the grace of the BBGs, they will have to play one of them.

This speaks well of the 2015 Astros that went into the Bronx and won that WC game.

Well, despite 5 hits and 5 walks, you went 0 fer 6 w/RISP and 13 punch outs.  How'd that work out for you?

Well... FTA’s anyway. They were the Cincinnati Reds from the NL central from years past this season. Green uni’s but red asses in the end.

Can’t wait till Friday.
