Keep the line moving!
-
Go away, Mitch Haniger!
-
Three pitches in, M's have runners at 2B and 3B...
-
1-0 Mariners
-
Bases juiced, one out...
-
Getting ugly early.
-
It would be nice if we could get another out.
-
3-0 M's...runners on the corners, one out...
-
Completely exhausting watching Keuchel in the first inning this year.
-
This is a sub-optimal beginning.
-
T1:
Haniger singles to CF on the first pitch. Imagine that.
Segura doubles to LF, Haniger to 3B
Cano singles to LF, Haniger scores, Segura to 3B...Reddick was there coming in on the looping liner, but it hit his wrist
Cruz...infield back...0-2...1-2...strikes out swinging
Healy...3-0...walks, Cano to 2B
Wild pitch...Segura scores, Cano to 3B, Healy to 2B...right through Maldonado's legs
Seager...infield in...3-0...3-1...3-2...lines one off of Keuchel and it ricochets all the way into RF...Cano scores, Healy to 3B....looks like it hit him in the head...trainers out...gonna stay in the game
Zunino strikes out swinging
Heredia flies out F9
3-0 Mariners
-
Someone will have to do some PBP for a while
-
Dallas was lucky he got his glove up, really close to getting one in the ear.
-
What is this umpire's deal? He won't call a strike for Keuchel, and now all of a sudden the zone just got huge for Springer.
-
Some bad luck that inning. Haniger with kind of a shiftfuck single, Segura with a seeing eye bouncer over the 3B bag, Cano's looping liner that Reddick got an arm on...the only ball struck well was the liner off of Keuchel.

They were swinging early, sometimes good things happen when you swing the fucking bat.
-

He probably just sucks.
He gifted Dallas a strike 3 inches off the plate.
-
Why is Dallas so bad when we need good?
-
Why is Dallas so bad when we need good?
Maybe we can just go ahead and start with the 2nd inning.
-
Maybe we can just go ahead and start with the 2nd inning.
Dallas needs a first inning opener.

The hard hit ball came when he couldn't afford it.
He sucked that inning.
-
I prefer it when Keuchel gets his "Oswalt" inning out of the way early.
-
Ball 6 (or was it 7?) gets Josh to first.
-
Alright, since you all missed me so much...
B3:
Reddick...full count...walks...Astros first base runner
Maldonado...0-2...1-2...strikes out swinging
Marisnick...0-2...grounds into 5-4-3 double play
3-0 Mariners
-

Segura’s was a screaming line drive past Bregman. It did not bounce.
-
Segura’s was a screaming line drive past Bregman. It did not bounce.
Nice to have you around.
-
Wow, what a catch by Reddick!
-
T4:
Seager flies out F7
Zunino flies out F7 on a leaping catch by Reddick at the wall
Heredia grounds out 4-3
3-0 M's
-
Segura’s was a screaming line drive past Bregman. It did not bounce.
Guess I gotta get my eyes checked.
-
Josh flashing it!
-
Nice to have you around.
Went to kd lang last night. She looks like 9 miles of bad road but sings like an angel.
-
Maybe a hit this time thru the order.
-
Infield hit.
I'll take it.
-
Damn...I didn't even get to enjoy that infield single
-
Of course.
-
Oh shit...I forgot to drink rum
-
Went to kd lang last night. She looks like 9 miles of bad road but sings like an angel.
Yes. Yes she does.
-
Another looked like he couldn't wait to gidp.
I know that's not his mentality, but for crap's sake why have in to the pitcher on the first pitch?
-
B4:
Springer dribbles one up the 3B line and beats it out for an infield single...not hit hard, but "well placed"...Astros first hit of the ballgame
Altuve grounds into 6-4-3 double play on the first pitch
Bregman...3-0...3-1...walks
Marwin grounds out 4-3
3-0 Mariners
-
Marwin half-assed it down the line.
-
Marwin half-assed it down the line.
Yes he did.
-
This game is pissing me off.
-
This game is pissing me off.
Not hustling pisses me off. He had a chance to beat that out.
-
Not hustling pisses me off. He had a chance to beat that out.
Marwin tends to pout sometimes.
-
The fuck is he doing?
-
The fuck is he doing?
He thought he tagged him. He did not.
-
Maldonado has given them two runs tonight.
-
Machete butchered that.
-
Maldonado has given them two runs tonight.
Now three runs
-
T5:
Gordon taps back to the mound
Haniger...full count...walks
Segura flies out F8
Cano...0-2...1-2 on the corner...doubles to LCF...Marisnick fields it, Marwin makes the throw home...Maldonado has it...Haniger slides wide of the plate and Maldonado never touches him as Haniger crawls back and touches the plate...should have been an out
Cruz...full count...singles off the RF wall, Cano scores
Healy flies out F9 on the first pitch
5-0 M's
-
Dick stepping from an unlikely source.
Fucking stupid not to pursue the tag with 2 outs.
Meanwhile Dallas responds in predictable fashion.
-
Maldonado has given them two runs tonight.
The weird thing is his turning around.
Sleepwalking game. Poor pitching. Poor hitting. Poor defense.
-
He thought he tagged him. He did not.
If he thought he tagged him then no need to look to third. He either forgot how many outs there were or assumed he was already safe. I think it was a two run brain freeze.
-
He had to know he didn't tag him. The big question is why was he paying attention to what Cano was doing on the bases?
-
Don't forget that was a 1-2 pitch drilled to the wall to start that debacle.
Keuchel would have been lucky to get the out at home as much as he was unlucky Maldonado fucked up.
-
I think Seager even got that bounce in the coconut. A two-fer!
-
He had to know he didn't tag him. The big question is why was he paying attention to what Cano was doing on the bases?
He did not know or he would have gone after him but totally agre re turning around.
-
B5:
Warren in for the M's
White grounds out 6-3
Gurriel singles to LF
Reddick with a pop up single down the 3B line, just out of Seager's reach, Gurriel to 2B
Kemp, pinch hitting for Maldonado, works the count full...flies out F9, Gurriel to 3B
Gattis, pinch hitting for Marisnick, strikes out flailing at a pitch three feet off the plate
5-0 Mariners
-

Forgot the outs. He appealed to HPU on the tag.
-
Now three runs
He has been so good I am giving him a mulligan for tonight.
-
Should the Astros be fortunate enough to make the postseason, Gattis has played his way off the roster.
The last month hitting .054.
-
He has been so good I am giving him a mulligan for tonight.
Rough night. It happens. Just wish it didn't happened on a night when Keuchel was throwing puss.
-
He has been so good I am giving him a mulligan for tonight.
Keuchel made his own mess in the first inning.
3 pitches into the game there were runners on 2nd and 3rd.
-
T6:
Peacock in
Seager crushes a home run to the upper deck in RCF...it may have killed someone
Zunino...0-2...strikes out swinging
Heredia...full count...lines out to LF
Gordon lines out to RF
6-0 M's
-
Bregman just missed the sweet spot on that one.
-
AAA pitchers throw 10 1/3 scoreless innings. Keuchel throws BP.
-
AAA pitchers throw 10 1/3 scoreless innings. Keuchel throws BP.
That's not going to help his free agent pitch.
-
B6:
Armstrong in for the Mariners
Springer grounds out 6-3
Altuve walks
Bregman flies out F7 on the first pitch...now 3 for his last 46 (.065)
Marwin singles to RF, Altuve to 3B
White flies out F9
6-0 M's
-
Hucking Fanniger
-
What a fuckin shit show this game is.
-
This game sucks. Time to go rub some butts for this weekend. I wish it wasn’t pork shoulder I was talking about.
-
Went to do something more pleasant: unclog the kids toilet.
Well that job is done, and now I wish it wasn't.
-
T7:
Deetz in for the Astros
Haniger...full count...homers to LF
Segura grounds one down the 3B line, Bregman with a diving backhanded stop, but can't get the runner...infled single
Cano doubles to RF...Segura rounds 3B...hesitate, stumbles, but Altuve doesn't bother to throw the ball in as Segura scores
Cruz grounds out 5-3
Healy pops out F3 in foul territory
That's it for Deetz, Perez in
Seager grounds out 6-3
8-0 Mariners
-
Went to do something more pleasant: unclog the kids toilet.
Well that job is done, and now I wish it wasn't.
Now if you can fix this pile of crap we would all be grateful.
-
B7:
Duke in for the M's
Gurriel...quickly 0-2...1-2...2-2...singles to RF against the shift
Reddick grounds into FC, Gurriel out 4-6 at 2B
Kemp...0-2...whiffs at a pitch in the dirt 6 feet outside
Stassi grounds ou 4-3
8-0 M'S
-
I am grateful that this type of performance is a rarity these days, and not the norm like back in the dark days.
-
Now if you can fix this pile of crap we would all be grateful.
Well we were out of toilet bowl cleaner so I literally was wiping a pile of crap off the bowl with toilet paper.
My reward was to sit down and see the Ms hit a 336 foot homerun.
-
Brutal. Just brutal.
-
It's nice to see Straw play. I honestly didn't know what he looked like.
-
T8:
Whole shitload of defensive changes...Tucker, Straw and Davis in, Springer, Altuvr and Bregman out
Zunino strikes out looking
Heredia homers to LF
Gordon flies out F8
Gamel strikes out looking
9-0 M's
-
It's nice to see Straw play. I honestly didn't know what he looked like.
He looks like Bregman.
-
One of the shittier games I've seen in person. Off the top of my head, only the Jason Jennings game tops it.
-
B8;
Grimm in...
Straw...first big league at bat...pops out F4
Tucker grounds out 3U
Davis flies out F8
9-0
-
One of the shittier games I've seen in person. Off the top of my head, only the Jason Jennings game tops it.
I think the context of this season and last season is a significant difference.
-
I think the context of this season and last season is a significant difference.
Very true, easy to forget how common games like this used to be.
-
T9:
Devo in
Romine flies out F7
Negron grounds out 4-3
Vogelbach, pinch hitting for Cruz...3-0...3-1...flies out F8
9-0
-
Once again it's hard to tell if Devo looked good or the batters had terrible approaches.
-
One of the shittier games I've seen in person. Off the top of my head, only the Jason Jennings game tops it.
Oof.
Sorry you had to be there, but thanks for taking one for the team.
-
B9:
Elias in
Marwin rolls one towards 3B, some scrub bare hands it and throws Marwin out 5-3
White rolls one towards 3B, the same scrub makes a nice pick up and throw for the 5-3
Gurriel...0-2...grounds out 6-3
And thankfully we're done...9-0 ass whoopin'
-
Let's never speak of this again.
-
The highlight of the game for me was seeing a guy in a Wesley Wright jersey. That’s dedication.

As if getting shutout at home AND losing the season series to Seattle wasn’t sucky enough, A’s just scored 6 runs in the 4th against the Angels. Darn shame we didn’t win that first game 1-0.
-
Bregman just missed the sweet spot on that one.
I hope Bregman finds his stroke in the next couple of weeks.
-
Marwin half-assed it down the line.
Standard procedure for Marwin.
-
Standard procedure for Marwin.
Yes, it is. I've noticed it is spreading though. I suppose it is SOP these days.

This post tricked me into looking at the 2013 Astros roster. Was not prepared.

Altuve has been doing a lot of jogging lately. Is his knee still bothering him?

Nothing to worry about. Probably just discomfort.
/ominous music/
-

Frankly, I kind of hope it is. At least then we'd have a rectifiable reason for his recent hitting woes.

Actually I do think it's less than 100% and it's affecting him.
He looked sharp his first series back (in Seattle), its been sporadic since then. His ability to use that leg for power could be affected.
Of course compared to Correa he's lights out.
