Title: Orioles set a new standard

The Birds have been mathematically eliminated from the postseason. On August 11th. It's apparently the earliest a team has been  eliminated since divisional play began. (Information gleaned from telecast of Yankees@Rangers, so if it's wrong, I"m blaming them.)

I saw the same thing. Earliest elimination since the 62 Mets

Wonder if they've exhausted Buck Showalter's allotment of sticks to shove up his butt yet.
