Charlie can't find the plate with a map and a lantern.

Charlie can't find the plate with a map and a lantern.
He put 4 in the zone against Guzman but still didn't get a strike out... but yeah, he is all over the place.
-
Altuve did not help matters.
-
No hits, but feels like score could be so much worse.
-
Ugly half inning. Two runs on NO hits. Walks, error, 2 HBP....U G L Y.

Altuve did not help matters.
I'm at the game. Altuve clearly pissed at himself as he came off.

As he should be.

Yes and yes.
Deshields covers ground.

Yes sir, good chance we would have a couple more runs.

Charlie Houdini

Hope this outing does not destroy his fragile psyche.

When did people decide it was OK not to pronounce the t if the final syllable of a word begins with t? It drives me crazy. I used to think that it was a Puerto Rican thing since that's the way most New Yorquinos talk, Ma-HA-ehn is where a lot of them live. But then suddenly you start hearing it all over the place. Not long ago I heard some radio story about a bunch of high school kids in Utah and every one of those kids did it. UTAH. I wonder if they call it U'ah.
Nice at-bat there by Ga'is.
-
And that's it for Charlie. I hope Peacock doesn't do his "groove the first pitch fastball" routine.
-
Important bullpen session with Strom coming up for Charlie.
-
Did the umpires union just decide to continuously fuck Marisnik? He's had SO MANY bad strikes called on him.

I’d like just like to say that I like made like an awesome pork tenderloin like on the grill with like a fig and balsamic glaze. It was like awesome and stuff.
-
Kemp stranded on 2nd after his no out double.
Grrrrrr . . .
-
Bring on the electronic strikezone.
-
Bregman got seriously screwed on that strike call.
-
One of you burgeoning t-shirt moguls out there needs to make a Stassi T designed like a stussy shirt they used to sell at Yaga in Galleria III back in the day. I’m sure there are at least 7 or 8 40-somethings with fading ying yang tattoos on leathery sunburnt skin that would love to rock one of these to a game complemented by a nice hemp necklace.

I have a 12 year old niece who talks just like that.

Fuck Marwin...did you not realize you’re allowed to turn a double play?

Twice deshields has hit a turnable dp ball.
Double grrrr.

When you fucking jog out of the box, you got no gripes about close plays at 2B.
-
Lot of dick stomping tonight.

Home run trot or he thought it was foul. Either way, a fuck up.
-
Good grief Brad.

Good grief Brad.
What’s that, 8 walks, 5 HBP in 5 1/3 innings...
-
13 LOB for Arlington.
Most of them made zero contact to get there.
-
Sipp cleaning up the mess.
Time to string some hits.
-
Sipp walks Choo, Devo in.
This game . . .
-
Sipp did a good job.
-
Devo gets it done.
Meanwhile ranger fan in front of me pulled up the Odor/Bautista fight and played it for his 4 year old son.
-
Mar’in on the mound for the Rangers...

That's what you do when you haven't won anything worthwhile for a some time.
-
ying yang tattoos
I'm so glad you did this.
Also, I don't know shit about the Rangers' roster (why would I?) yet I somehow knew that today, just today, would play a fellow named Mar'in.
-
Another double-play. Yikes.
-
Astros are a GIDP machine.

Here's another thing that pisses me off. I can't listen to NPR podcasts on my iPod anymore because it doesn't fast forward very well. I have to listen on my phone. The reason I have to fast forward obviously is because those geeks finally woke up to the fact that they could put ads in on and around the podcasts. And I cannot fucking handle ads. So. The guy that NPR chose to read all of these ads, I'm sure he's a nice guy and I'm sure he's nice to old ladies and stray dogs and all that shit, but his job is to speak and he has a fucking speech impediment. I am all for diversity, you know, but come the fuck on. Thith NPR podcatht ith brought to you by Thquarethpace.

I don’t remember ever seeing six HBP in the same game
-
Jesus, if we're going to hit Profar three times, let's at least hit him.
-
That dude can strike out with the best of em.
-
Jesus, if we're going to hit Profar three times, let's at least hit him.
If you’re gonna hit six guys, at least it’s the Rangers. Silver. Lining.
-
Well what do you know.
Another gidp.
-
A machine, I tells ya...
-
Rondon on the bump.
-
Rondon has become the closer? Used Giles up 5-1 last outing.

Is this two straight save opps for Rondon?

I used the internet, and, yes, Rondon saved the last game of the M’s series, which was the previous opportunity to tonight.

5-4-3!!!
-
The team doesn't seem to miss Correa all that much.
-
That may be the least deserved win of the season. But I’ll take it!

Why wasn’t Giles last one a save? 5-2 and he pitched an inning.
-
Dang, that was closer than it needed to be, glad those two freebies we gave them at the start didn't bite us on the butt.
-

One of the runs was his. He came in when it was 5-1.

I think the tying run must be on deck when he comes in. He entered 5-1 and gave up a run.
ETA: I am worried about how Morton will respond.
-
Back in a tie for first with the Mariners in the AL West.
-
They keep talking about all of the Rangers' LOBsters, but the only reason those guys were on base was because the got walked or got HBP. It's not like they were mashing the ball all over the yard all night.
-
ETA: I am worried about how Morton will respond.
I understand your concern, but I think Morton has turned a corner and will respond well.
-

The Astros’ pitchers tried to hand them this game and the Rangers couldn’t take it. Similar to how the Astros lost the game in New York where the Yankees committed five errors.

He is a fragile dude, and this is two bad outings in a row. I hope JV is talking to him right now.

Yes and yes.

That was the last thing they won.

Proudest moment in rangers history, back to back world series? No. 3000 hits for Beltre? No. Odor being a little shit stain? Yes wasn't that awesome?

Important bullpen session with Strom coming up for Charlie.
To me, Charlie looks like he could use a little break, like one of those 10-day DL stints.

Oh I know. I’ll take em anyway I can get em.

So top of the 8th this guy and his daughter (looked about 4 or 5) come down the aisle right to the 3rd base end of the dugout and start screaming "Springer, hey Springer!! Turn around, she's got a sign!! Springer!! Springer!!!"
And so on and on and on. George never turned. Kemp makes eye contact with them and kind of smiles/nods but his eyes say "um, you're crazy, he's not gonna look."
The girl was cute as a button so I tell the dude to sit next to me, the folks who were there left. Told him wait until they're coming in off the field, that's the best chance to get acknowledged.
It got them out of the aisle (and to stop yelling at Springer). She had a poster made with glue and glitter: yay springer yay Altuve yay Reddick.
Girl: do you like the Astros?
Me, wearing orange jersey/ blue H star cap: yes. They're my favorite team of all time.
Girl: really?!! They're my favorite too. Why didn't Springer turn around?
Me: they get in trouble if they look away from the field.
Dad: Ohhhh.
Me thinking to myself: dude, you're wasted.
The ranger fans around us tolerated this guy well.
In the 9th I point out to the girl that the guy on second could tie the game and the guy on first could win the game for the rangers. Dad helpfully chimed in "yeah, and then we'd have to really coine back hard . . . Or something)." All I could do not to slap my forehead.
Mercifully Beltre then hit into the 5-4-3.
Anyway, don't most parks have ushers to stop that crap?
