Title: Pitch Framing Observation
Post by: HudsonHawk on May 30, 2018, 08:38:28 pm
I posted this in the GZ, but thought I’d post it here for more discussion. Stassi is good at framing pitches because he funnels the ball to his chest and is fluid. He doesn’t try to “stick” the pitch like a lot of guys and as a result his movements appear natural. He lets the ball come to him and catches the ball close to his body when he can. Brad Ausmus was that way. Stassi’s recieving reminds me of Ausmus.

Agreed. Snatching and pulling is not framing. He is all in one motion fluid.

I noticed that too. In fact he bought a couple of calls that way in this series.
