Mike Stanton. He never shuts up. Never.

Mike Stanton. He never shuts up. Never.
I realize it's a hard thing to do, analyzing. But it's easy to tell yourself, "Don't talk too much."

Alright...someone else do some pbp...try to get some runs
-
Guys, how about we make the playoffs before worrying about the rotation.
-
Alright...someone else do some pbp...try to get some runs
I'm on grandson duty. Best I can do is occasional snark.
-
Alright...someone else do some pbp...try to get some runs
I give it an inning or two, just to see if it makes a difference

These Cleveland eats are giving me the heebs.
Broadcast crew oughta qualify for hazard pay, eating all that shit.
-
Who the fuck eats a peanut butter and banana sandwich?
I do. Not too often but a couple of times a year. Elvis liked his fried. Once loaded up his crew on the Lisa Marie and flew out to Denver on a whim because he thought some place there had the best fried peanut butter and banana sandos
-
This second-Kluber-in-a-week reminds me of Kluber v. Chicago, 2016. We may not get to him much today but lotsa good ABs. They’d fuck him up in a hypothetical third match-up in a couple days.
ETA: “much” or “at all”.

It sounds terrible, but odd combinations work sometimes... you would be surprised how many things go great with vegemite.

Had the good fortune to visit Bon Appetit’s restaurant of the year couple weekends ago: quirky little sandwich joint in New Orleans’ garden district by the sort of annoying name of Turkey and the Wolf. I had a fried bologna sandwich with potato chips on it because I can’t hang with head cheese tacos and because Mrs banedoodle was getting the only other meat sandwich (ham) on the tiny little menu—the tiny little menu being the only untattooed employee, naturally. It was exceedingly busy and very good, if a smidge overhyped. The Gnarly Barley Jucifer IPA was superb. Mrs banedoodle had an outstanding blue cocktail I may have availed myself of more than is strictly fair.

If the Astros can't score, Kuechel is on the way to a 3 - 7 record.

If the Astros can't score, Kuechel is on the way to a 3 - 7 record.
Some dipshit in the media (damned if I remember who) said Kuechel has been unsuccessful at gathering run support... huh?
-
Melky looks like he has slimmed down.
-
Shit. An inch away from sitting down and now this.
-
It's easy for me to just say this now, but Yuli should have thrown home on that play.
-

That was my initial thought.
-
I thought he did the right thing but his throw was poor, handcuffed Correa.
-
Yeah, should have gone home. Hard to say though because Encarnacion had a big lead at third and running on contact.
-
DK showing some grit. Encarnacion’s single was the only well-struck ball.
-
It's kind of a minor miracle that Keuchel has only given up two runs.

I thought he could go the distance, but he must have throw about 30 so guess he's about done.
-
I wonder if Marwin’s one of these guys who alternates good years with bad. If memory serves, he started to put it together in ‘15 and took a step back in ‘16 before unleashing last year’s shenanigans and thus far this year essing the bed.
-
I really like this Stassi.
-
Let's break Miller here.
-
Am I correct that yesterday’s game was the first of the year in which we we won after trailing by more than one run?
-
Fuck, Davis hit that ball hard, but to the wrong spot.
-
Tough luck for Davis. He smoked that ball.

Holy shit. Davis in left and Marwin in center? That can't be very reassuring for a pitcher.

I got to step out for a while.

Is she on vacation?

I mean, she would find any excuse to miss the Cleveland trip, considering. Right?

Is she on vacation?
Covering the Rockets games I think.

Jose Altuve!!!!!
-
Nice hit by Altuve. He's been swinging it well tonight. And he gets Keuchel off the hook. good job.
-
Bringing in Allen here shows you how little Francona believes in his bullpen.
-
Nice bunt!!
-
Great job Marwin!!!!!

I love that Jose spit while he was running home. I don't know why that amuses me.

No, it’s awesome.
I spit this morning walking into work at 5:30 under a partly cloudy sky and a kamikaze rain drop fell on my head at the very moment. It was hilarious.

You have to jettison weight to obtain optimal speed.
-
Damn! JD smoked it twice, with nothing to show.

Damn JD! Keep your head up! Smoked the ball twice in a row!

Hard luck, again, for Davis.
-
Springer was robbed. Hopefully, it won't matter.
-
On a side note, Joe Musgrove made his first start tonight for the Pirates. Dude went 7 innings, 5 hits, no runs and struck out 7 for the win. He only threw 67 pitches in 7 innings. Congrats to you Joe!

Good for him.

So no PBP and they score 4 runs...

J.D. Davis has the head of a Lego man.

I love Jose Altuve.

It's going to really help if Altuve is coming out of his funk.

The Chief Wahoo logo looks stupid.

Yuli singles to load the bases.
Cro Mag at the plate...

Nice hit Jake!

He absolutely obliterated that pitch.

He absolutely obliterated that pitch.
And that, gentlemen, is vaunting.
-
Looking a lot like last year. Wear down the starter then eat the bullpen.

You know what, I WOULD be surprised at how many things go great with vegemite. The only thing I can think of offhand is cardiac arrest.
-
Good win. Just needed to get to that Indians pen.
11-2 is the final

I never tried it. Every time I mentioned it when I was there, I was told that I would hate it. Not one person encouraged me to try some out.
-
Well, it’s at least two games now coming back from a multiple-run deficit. These wins will help cushion the blow a little when we invariably lose the year’s most anticipated game in a couple days, since we cannot and will never defeat Bauer.
-

Imagine making a sort of paste out of whatever solids remain from the process of brewing beer. Then imagine adding maybe three times that volume of salt. It's right around in that area.
Feel free to mix it with peanut butter and banana. If Elvis had known about this shit we'd never have seen him make it out of the 50's. Which, frankly, would have been a tremendous loss for Scientology.

That was very good advice.

I would think knowing when to not talk is the hardest part of being an analyst. Same as with sales.

Studio analysts are like sprinters; there's a short time to get it all said. Color guys should be distance runners. Pacing is key.
(I like Stanton; he's one of the few notable sports alumni of my college alma mater)

I did radio color for a year with Mike Capps and the Express. I tried to get in a rythym with Mike so i’d Know when he wanted me to talk and so I would not step on him before he finished. One learns to make the point clearly and to be brief and succinct and to turn it back to the pbp guy. He would let me know when he wanted more or a conversation.
