They are deeper than GSW, but the role players have to make that depth matter.   Make open 3s, move the ball,  make layups to complement Harden.

So yes,  another win.

But not another 3 wins.

I was wondering how this would come up. You know, it would not surprise me one bit if the abuse he described as inflicted on him were wholly invented.

Mainly I just wonder why the fuck guys can't keep from harassing and abusing women. In my own experience it's really not that difficult. Which reminds me, Diaz's statement in the wake of the accusations ended with something along the lines of, We have to teach men about consent and boundaries. Uhh, no, motherfucker, we need to teach YOU about consent and boundaries. Don't bring me into this you fucking dickface.

Correa not having a great night. K swinging, K looking and 2 groundouts, the last being a DP.

Rough night.

Rough night.

It still blows my mind that almost every position player on the team has taken a step backward this year, while at/near their primes and healthy.

They've all also had hot stretches.

When Altuve's average dropped 40 points he was still above .300.

Everything about this ESPN coverage is shit. Complete shit.

I have had the Worrell button on the entire game.

I'm glad to hear that everyone else is appalled at this fucking dogshit smoothie ESPN is serving up.

ARod is so bad/creepy/terrible it defies description.

Mendoza is actually pretty solid. Put her with someone that actually gives a fuck about calling a baseball game, and I'd watch/listen.

Bottom 8

Bregman lines sharply to short,  fielded on a hop on the back step, Bregman safe at first (throw was late and dropped)
Altuve singles sharply to center,  Bregman to 2nd
Correa gidp 6-4-3, Bregman to 3rd
Carrasco is done, Tyler Olson (LHP) coming in
Reddick 0-2, then drives a ball to the wall in center,  Bregman scores,  Josh on 2nd with a double
Cody Allen comes in fron the pen
Gurriel after battling,  flies out to Lindor in shallow left

End 8
Indians 0
Astros 3

Those 2 walks in the 7th ratcheted the top of the order up to the 9th.

It’s completely puzzling.  They are embarrassing themselves now. Warriors up 34 w 3min remaining

Final 126-85

There should be a mercy/incompetence rule in the playoffs: you lose by 30+ points in a game, and that round is over.

It bounced on the track in front of the LF wall. I was shocked it wasn’t caught.

The drawback to having a utility player there rather than an everyday left fielder.

Play at 2nd was close too.  Wonder if hitter thought the same.

Top 9

Devo on the bump

Brantley doubles to the scoreboard in left
Ramírez lines out to Springer who catches it on the run over the shoulder, Brantley to 3rd
Giles comes in
Encarnacion grounds out 5-3, Astros concede the run
Alonso grinds in to the shift, 4-3

Final
Indians 1
Astros 3

Lance was outstanding tonight.

At one point the pbp guy said Carrasco was matching him pitch for pitch.  That was crap.  Carrasco wiggled off the hook a few times early,  while LMJ ws perfect thru 5.

McCullers: 8 7 (thanks Jim) IP, 0 R, 1 H, 8 K, 2 BB

These ESPN broadcasts are just horrid.

Whoever decided baseball needs three people in a booth is a moron. Late in his career Scully worked alone but I wouldn't recommend that for many. I was on vacation last week and could only get Astros baseball on  satellite radio and I decided I am really missing out by not listening to Ford/Sparks. They are terrific. I am growing less interested in hearing Blum and Kalas, especially Kalas. Add Bagwell to the mix and it becomes a monthly tribute to Bagwell. And its' not his fault.

Mendoza's greatest contribution to the broadcast was calling out Vasgursian and pointing out what an incredibly stupid statement it was when he said the Luhnow-era Astros had not missed on any of their overall No. 1 draft picks.

After last nights' game McCullers has the lowest MMP ERA among Houston pitchers with at least 175 IP at 2.30.  Clemens and Oswalt come in next at 2.55. I never would have guessed that.

The development of his change this year has been huge.  He already had dominant skills, but this addition has taken him to a new level.  Knock on wood about his health.

Ford and Sparks are really good, Kalas and Blum are much better than Ashby and Blum. I like Kalas' sonic qualities and think he does well at calling the action on the field, but his banter between calls is pedestrian and clichéd (Not just Kalas, it's a problem that permeates sports announcing). I don't need personality, I want play by play, the game is the show.
