I like leadoff doubles.
-
Based juiced, 2 outs.
Come on Marwin.
-
Big at bat here by Marwin. Last year’s Astros would make a team pay in this situation.

Well Gattis did not fail in the rbi situation.
-
And then he steps on his dick.
-
Well Gattis did not fail in the rbi situation.
Now he’s gotta lead off the next inning. At least could have cleared his spot.

Well, he didn’t succeed either. Hopefully, now that he has a second chance when leading off the 2nd, someone will tell him not to watch a fastball go by without swinging like he did on the first pitch.

Isn't it May 7th? I guess it will be May 8th by the time this game is over

I guess no one told him. But Reddick singles and Stassi with a 2-bagger.

Springer Dinger!

One of these things is not like the other.

Safe

Nice to see Dallas get some support.

What's that "5" next to the the H-Star logo?

Turn your sarc meter on.

Turn your sarc meter on.
All these runs have me confused.

Yes, it is.
-
Marwin with another hit.
-
Jesus, Gattis. It's only a matter of time until he hits into another triple-play.
-
Gattis makes up for not not coming through in the 1st.

Burn.

Astros hitters have made 8 outs. Gattis has made 3 of them, Altuve 2 of them.
-
Dallas looking good.
-
Nice recognition of Reddick by the A's fans.
-
Whack, whack, whack. Everybody hits...
-
And nice double by Stassi plating Josh from first.
Then Springer promptly singles (that's double, homer, single already for George).
-
Whack, whack, whack. Everybody hits...
Altuve says yo tambien.
-
Altuve with a hit. Does that leave Gattis as the only no-hitter?
-
Aluve with an RBI knock sending Anderson to the shower. 7-0 Astros

Gattis and Bregman.
-
Total knee jerk decision.
I'm sure he would have settled down after another 3 or 4 innings.

His ball really starts to get some movement after the first 120 pitches or so.
-
One of those nights for the As.
-
mmmmmmmm....vintage vauntin'!
jes lik dem ol' daez back 'n seb'teen!
-
Gattis and Bregman.
and Gurriel?
-
and Gurriel?
Forgot about him. He and Bregman have been in base though.

"What's that like?"
- Gattis
-
Marwin bomb!!
-
Big night for Marwin! The last couple of games he has had some better at bats. If he starts to heat up and produce our lineup is going to look a WHOLE lot better.

Return of the King!

Damn, Gattis with a hit!

Gattis joins the hit parade!
-
Yes!
Evan, please build on this.
-
Bregman erases his errant throw by starting a nice 5-4-3 dp.
-
Wow, this A’s defense.
-
They elect to leave first uncovered.
We'll have to see what the advanced metrics say about that.

Leaving 1B uncovered on a ground ball increases the hit percentage.

He wrote advanced. He didn't write useful.

Blum apologized for some remark concerning Pettis. What did he say?

Fans had some GP signs; Blum said they were Gary Pettis fans.
Momentarily forgot they were the initials of Gretchen Piscotty who died yesterday of ALS.
-
Fisher goes deep to lead off the 8th.

Fisher goes deep to lead off the 8th.
He’s had some better at bats lately as well. Hopefully this thing is starting to turn as far as the offense is concerned. One night does not a season make though. I want to see this on a regular basis.

Marwin with 5 rbi
Springer has 5 hits (and another AB upcoming)

Ah, I see, thanks.
Gattis is hilarious.
-
Keuchel to pitch the 8th.
-
Just to add insult to injury, gunned down at the plate for the third out.
-
Marwin Gonzales is "The Shootist".
-
Hit #6!
-
You don't see that every day.
The bench is trying to get him to go for three.
-
Springer 6th hit!
-

That's the only reason I stayed up.
Glad I did.
-
He has more hits than the A’s. Also, the only other Astro with 6 hits was Joe Morgan, but it took him 12 innings. George gets his in 9.
-
Now triple granny proof.
-
It's a slob-a-knocka....
-
Springer may get another chance.
-
Now triple granny proof.
They could possibly send Sipp in. Or even Smith.
-
Fisher misplayed that ball.
-
Here's a shocker, Sipp is fucking terrible.
Two fucking smoked lasers to drive in a run, even if Fisher should've caught the first one.
-
Marisnick misplayed that ball.
-
Sipp is terrible. But instead of focusing on the negative like SOME people I will instead incline towards the positive as is my wont and celebrate the six hit effort. Not to be morbid, but it is entirely possible that none of us will ever see another Astro get six hits in a game.
That was way better than a cycle. The only individual offensive achievement I can think of that would surpass it might be a four home run day.
-
Astros win a laugher: 16-2
-
Springer raised his average 40 points!
-
Springer raised his average 40 points!
I liked Altuve bowing to him from first base.
-
I am hoping the A's are helpful in waking the bats for a long time. They may be just what the WS hangover (or whatever the reason is for the pre-2017 batting issues are) need.
-
I liked the Astros Twitter account asking MLB if they could count three of Springer’s singles as one triple.
