Apparently there are no more right handed pitchers in baseball
-
What the hell? Protect the plate with 2 strikes.
-
T1:
Springer...full count...strikes out looking at a meatball right down the middle
Altuve...full count...strikes out looking at a meatball right down the middle
Correa strikes out swinging at a pitch in the dirt
Holy fuck that was pathetic

Ugh.
Really, really hope the hitters get over this K epidemic.
Controversial stance, I know.
-

Gordon...strikes out swinging ...Uncle Charlie in da house!
Segura grounds out 4-3
Cano grounds to 3B...shift on, no one there...single
Cruz...0-2...strikes out swinging
0-0
-
Ball in play.
Progress.
-
The team seems to have emphasized a 'go with the pitch ' mentality this series.
-
T2:
Gattis flies out to shallow LF..hit it right on th hands
Bregman...0-2...1-2...slaps a single to RF
Marwin strikes out swinging
Bregman steals 2B...slides past the bag and nobody is covering 3B on the shift, but he goes back to the bag instead of going to 3B
Reddick flies out F8
Scoreless
-
B2:
Seager...0-2...1-2...checks his swing for ball two...3-2...flies out to shallow LF
Haniger pops up to 2B, but shift on, so no one there...single
Gamel flies out to shallow CF
Vogelbach lines one into RF...but into the shift as Altuve fields it and throws him out 4-3...shift giveth and shift taketh away

-
T3:
Stassi...3-0...3-1...3-2...strikes out looking
Marisnick...0-2...strikes out swinging
Springer...full up...strikes out swinging
No score

Is the Astros.com in-market video working for anyone? It just gives me the old 404 Not Found which is probably just the same as watching the Astros offense anyway.
-
B3:
Freitas...0-2...1-2...2-2...3-2...strikes out looking
Gordon strikes out looking
Segura grounds out 5-3
No score

I'm using att soortsnet app; Astros feed is working

That caught Correa on the patella. Ouch.

Yeah, that's working for me too. But the link from MLB.TV does not.
-
Well we just found the new low point in the season.
-
T4:
Altuve walks
Correa...fouls one off his knee...not good...stays in the game...lines one off the face of Gonzalez...infield single...Altuve to 2B...Gonzalez ok
Gattis check swing...grounds into triple play...Altuve out 5U at 3B, Correa out 5-4 at 2B, but Gattis inexplicably leaves 1B, thinking he was somehow out and is tagged out for the third out of the inning.
Wow

Was the 1B coach asleep too?

Yep. I'm giving up PBP on that one.

The Mariners are trying to kill our guys.
-
routine 1-6 line popout

Thanks for the sportsnet heads up. Got it going just in time to see the massive cock up.

The Mariners are trying to kill our guys.
While our guys shoot themselves in the foot.

He was yelling at Gattis to get back on the bag, but Gattis ignored him.
-
Seager having a rough game for the M's
-
Astros manage a run...somehow...in a really fucked up inning
-
Does this game count as baseball?
-
Poor Jake. I really feel sorry for him. He can't even bunt one into play.

That was the most predictable at bat imaginable.
-
That was the most predictable at bat imaginable.
At first I thought the first bunt hit him it out of the box.
So lost he can't even bunt when the sac is a given.
-

Two foul bunts and a wild swing and a miss.
But Gonzalez out for Altavilla. Righty.

That would have been fitting...put a ball in play, but strike out anyway.

Altuve with a 3-run double!!!
-
Bases loaded double for Altuve. That pop fly just kept going, just past a terrible run by the Mariners right fielder.

Haniger’s route was Pence-esque. But I’ll take it.

He was daring Altuve to hit it over his head. So Altuve hit it over his head.

Haniger may be our series MVP
-
Charlie Morton is the only person actually playing baseball in this game and he is doing it very well.
-
Bottom 5
Haniger Ks swinging
Gamel flies out softly F7
Vogelbach grounds out to shifted Correa 6-3
End 5
Astros 4
Mariners 0

I knew Evan was one of the greatest of all time at hitting into double plays, but I never suspected he had that in him.
-
Charlie Morton is the only person actually playing baseball in this game and he is doing it very well.
they tried to kill him too.

So, I just signed up to volunteer to hand out replica rings on June 20th. I should be able to get one! and hopefully a ticket to the game! Score one for me.

That's awesome! Clever route!

Top 6
Gattis breaks his triple play streak, battles back from 0-2 hole to walk
Bregman (previous 'hit' actually ruled an error, for now)
gidp 6-4-3
Marwin now batting lefty grounds out to 1B
Mid 6
Astros 4
Mariners 0

I wasn't clever enough (or timely) to register for the Yuli gnome though.
-
Gotta go pick up the girl child. Pbp up for grabs.
-
Stassi is better than I expected.
-
Max Stassi continues making catcher the most productive offensive position on the team with an oppo taco.
5-0,T7.

Stassi is better than I expected.
He's a much, much better catcher than I thought he was (admittedly I hadn't watched him much prior to this year), and he's not a waste at the plate either.

If you happen to stumble upon an extra ring or three, Ty and Jim want one. Me too, I guess.
-
Morton cruises through the 7th despite an end of the bat single.
Altuve leads off with an 0-2 single up the middle.
-
Gattis just doesn’t want to run the bases.
-
Correa walks.
Gattis knocks in Altuve on a grounder down the RF line. Gets thrown out trying to stretch it to a double.
-

+1

I cannot recall a better stretch of starting pitching, this is amazing.
-
+1
And if you would send a hand full overseas too, that would be cool.
-
I was expecting Morton to come out for the 8th.

I've been using this for every game

I think maybe A J is wanting to see what he has in a couple of pitchers with this much of a lead.
-
Who started the 8th? Rondon just came in with 2 outs.
-
Sipp
-
C'mon Hector.. two outs man!
-
*whew*
-
woooo
-
A decent amount of vaunting here in the 9th
-
Dee Gordon plays center field like a second baseman.
-
a 3 spot in the 9th.. And Brad Peacock on to pitch the bottom of the ninth
-
Dee Gordon plays center field like a second baseman.
he had no chance on that ball..
-
Dee Gordon plays center field like a second baseman.
He only throws it 60 feet?
-
and that'll do it. Peacock freezes Romaine with a fastball down the middle.
9-2 Astros.
-
Hey there, Astros. Great to see you guys again.
-
I cannot recall a better stretch of starting pitching, this is amazing.
2.26 rotation ERA after today if my math is right (second only to Boston).

It’s good to have a strong #1 and 2.

This is part of the problem with carrying so many pitchers on this team. There may not be enough innings to keep them sharp. McHugh pitched last night for the first time in over a week. When did Giles last pitch? Hard to get everyone work. Meanwhile, your best right handed outfielder, other than Springer, Is allergic to contact.

Giles has been dealing with back pain. He last pitched in Arlington.

You mean Houston? Wasn't it just last weekend?

Yes. That series still has me flummoxed. https://www.mlb.com/astros/news/ken-giles-sitting-out-due-to-back-injury/c-272935948
