It’s cold.
-
So that is about the third time in the last couple of games that George has watched a fastball for strike 3.

Lance Lynn gets bigger each year. He looks a least 270 lbs.
ETA: He is listed at 275
-
T1:
Springer strikes out looking
Bregman walks
Altuve...3-0...3-1...flies out F8
Correa trikes out swinging.
No score.
-
Man, Correa just cannot catch up to a fastball right now. Not even a slow one.

For one dollar, Sphinx will guess your age, your weight, or your sex.
-
Sano looks about 255 lbs
ETA: He is listed at 262. I'm off my game but we professionals prefer to guess to light instead of too heavy.
-
B1:
Dozier grounds out 5-3
Maurer doubles to LCF...Jake laid out for it, but it was struck pretty well
Sano...full count...strikes out swinging
Rosario grounds out 4-3
No score after one

That was a bad, bad, bad swing.
-
T2:
Marwin works the count full...draws a lead off walk
McCann singles to LF, Marwin to 2B
Davis...full count...strikes out swinging
Marisnick strikes out swinging
Fisher...full count...strikes out looking
Well that inning crashed and burned.
-
Wow, that looked like ball 4 on Fisher.
-
All of these strikeouts look more like 2016, not 2017.

Someone else will have to do PBP

Agree. Definitely looked off the plate.

He took the pitch because the ball was inside.

Illness according to Hinch. Could pinch hit.
-
Why is Reddick not playing?
he only plays north of the Mason-Dixon in summer.
-
I attended a game in Baltimore in April once. It could have been Camden Yards' first year. It was fucking cold. Not 35 cold. Maybe 45 cold. But it was colder than it needed to be strictly speaking. And I was woefully unprepared.
Of course I went to a football game in Green Bay one December when the temperature at kickoff was like minus 5. That time I WAS prepared. But it wasn’t enough.

Thanks

Top of 3
Lynn pitching
Springer strikes out swinging
Bregman flied out to center
Altuve with a broken bat single.
Correa strikes out trying to check his swing
still no score
-
George has a hole in his bat.
These strikeouts are nauseating.
-

After the Great Snowball Battle of 1864, great-great-great grandpappy Reddick swore that neither he nor any of his Georgia born progeny shall ever hurl a projectile at foe or friend in temperatures approaching zero degrees Celsius and that oath has been passed down among generations of Reddick men.

I got to break from PBP to shove some food down my throat.
-
Man this team is in a hitting funk
-
Looks like Bregman injured his hand on that slide.

WTF Jose????

Verlander is a goddamn wizard
-
“Big boy baseball right here.” - Steve Sparks on JV
-
Verlander is a MAN. He's no boy. He's a full grown MAN. And I like it.
-
Verlander out for the 7th. Literally love this guy.
-
So exciting to watch this team pitch. And then they have to bat.
-

I'll take "Grown Ass" for a hundy...
-
Marwin! Correa scores!
-
Marwin with an RBI double. If it’s 5 degrees warmer that’s a home run.
-
Rosario in LF has not had a good night for the Twins.
-

I don’t think many LFs make that last play. Marwin put a good charge in it.
-
I’m not a fan of PA gimmicks for when the home team pitcher strikes someone out, but I do like the “When Doves Cry” flourish there in Minny.
-
How does Peacock move the ball this much in the cold?
-
Not a good decision by Bregman there. Gotta get an out. Now Twins with the bases juiced, one out.
Peacock out, Devo in
-

I stand by my comment. Thank goodness for theCoD.
-
Just like we drew it up.
-
Rosario is ready for this game to be over.
-

My only regret from the last 5 minutes is not having a last name that begins with a “D” so that I might one day father a son with a name that gives him the initials C.O.D.

Devo will try to close it out...
-
I haven’t seen this many Astros with bags on their heads since 2013.
-
Twins with the tying run at the plate, one out...
-
That’s it for Devo. Giles in to try to get the final out...
-
Giles in to face Buxton. Hinch must have a feeling.
-
Giles in for the final out.
-
Are those scarf/neck roll things heated?
-
Damn. One long foul ball.
-
Foul
-
Giles is such an exciting pitcher.
-
Astros win,,
-
I could use less excitement.
-
In their MLB-leading ninth win, 6 guys in the Astros' batting order for the night finished the game at or below the Mendoza line. What a pitching staff this team has.

Thanks Rodney Dangerfield.

What's the line below Mendoza?
The first run came thanks to a single by an 0.068 hitter.

The line between the Mendoza Line and the Blutarski Line? Hmmm...
-
Giles is such an exciting pitcher.
Before Sunday's game, Giles worked on sharpening his mechanics with starter Justin Verlander in the outfield. It looked like Verlander was reviewing the importance of staying on top of the ball and squatting deeper with his lower half.

A few years ago we had the Men Dozing Line -- .083 -- because that was Tony LaRussa's blood-alcohol content when the police found him asleep at the wheel.

Holy shit that's great

I didn't see that foul ball until after the game on the At Bat game recap. Whew.

It was a popup compared to Sano’s off Peacock.
-
I turned the game off when Giles came in. I told my wife that the expected value of the Giles appearance on the agony-to-joy spectrum would be harder to sleep on than the uncertainty of knowing what happened.
