Awesome. I tried to rally up some locals, but don't know any that made it.
-

If you mean that the preponderance of fans are there to support the Astros, I can go with that.
Order your next beer in a loudish tone of voice so I'll know where you are.

Someone please tell me what Altuve was doing?
-
So is Altuve taking the night off?
That was weird.
He had no intention of swinging the bat, that's for sure.
-
Someone please tell me what Altuve was doing?
I understand taking strike one after two quick outs. Maybe even the second. But someone needs to tell him you only get three in this league.
-
Game on TV today, bonus!

Where were you last night, that Irish bar we go to? Yeah, it's probably twice as crowded as that Irish bar.
-
i don't know if it looks this way on TV but it seems to be at least twice as crowded as last night
It definitely looks like more people there. They mentioned it on the broadcast.

Best record in the league...huge division lead...
I know, I know.
Those are the same thingsI keep telling myself.
Plus CC back this weekend.
-
The Astros haven't been no hit in either of these games, so I choose to view it as a significant improvement over previous Hurricane rebounds.

It's been a while since I've disliked an Astro as much as I dislike Fisher. I suppose you could point to Gomez but I never really thought of Gomez as an Astro.

-
what the fuck is Napoli complaining about?
That's been a strike all night, and you're up a billion heading into the 9th against a team of zombies.
-
Kalas involved in an absorbing discussion concerning the Astros' likely post season opponents.
It's crazy enough that they assume the Astros are going to make the post season, but it's mindboggling that they're still talking about finishing with the best record in the league...before the final series with Boston.
-
This team needs heart. Miles and miles of heart.
I assume they'll mail in tomorrow's game, then get back to Houston as quickly as they can. Hopefully getting that day off on Friday will help.
-

so i asked him when he thought he'd be non-tendered. he gave me the finger.

For added tortureI get the rangers broadcast.
Can't stand Dave Raymond.

Bregman...0-2...1-2...grounds out 5-3
Altuve with an infield single
Reddick flies out F7
Davis...full count...flies out F8
Astros go down 8-1
-
Once again, the Astros gave no effort mentally, physically, emotionally or competitively.
Hopefully the day off and Friday and a chance to get home will help.
-
This team needs heart. Miles and miles of heart.
Their hearts are back in Houston. With their families and friends.
-
At least with the early start tmw they'll get back to town early evening.
They look emotionally and physically sapped. Hopefully CC will inject some energy.

That's it. Where's my rope and my boulder?

I was being facetious. I've been saying for a month that the Astros are in trouble.

We'll you're only saying that because it's true.

Don't worry,...Blummer just guaranteed the Astros will win the division.
-
This team needs heart. Miles and miles of heart.
Holy shit. I was thinking that exact Gene Hackman quite while umping and occasionally checking scores tonight.
Presently, this team has ZERO heart and ZERO character. It's fucking pathetic.

I'm on someone's calendar page just now trying to set up a call and I see
Times are in Bogota, Jamaica, Lima Time
Damn right they are! Lima Time!

Any game the Astros give up 8 runs is definitely in LimaTime.

The Gallo AB was unbelievably stubborn by Keuchel.
Agreed. Fisher's bonehead throw and this AB were crucial parts of the loss.

Lots of things contributed to that lousy inning, not the least of which is the home run to Napoli who'd been in a weeklong slump of epic proportions. But it started with the throw from Fisher which did not allow Keuchel to really try to work Beltre and more or less forced him to load the bases. Ball four to Gallo was a strike, but Keuchel really nibbled that whole at bat. He then more or less gave in to the free swinging Gomez. Just a really bad plan that run through the order.

Napoli was 1-27 or 28 and hit a 2 strike pitch. The pitch to Gomez was middle in. Ball four to Gallo was the same pitch which was strike 3 to Choo, but he cannot leave the pitch to the discretion of the umpire. The 2-2 was not close.
