I doubt it. Trying to consciously avoid an injury in the midst of an athletic feat is a good way to get injured.

I doubt it. Hinch has said he doesn't try to interfere too much with the players' instincts on those types of matters, even sliding head first into home.

I don't know...after being hard hit, it's really important to make sure the correct number are still present. Too many or too few are both very bad.

A 5 oz missile in the nuts will definitely make you rethink your priorities... Did Sucre hurl? The MLB.tv feed went to a commercial break prett quick so I guessed they didn't want to show the technicolor yawn.

He didn't hurl, but I'm sure he was wishing someone would shoot him and put him out of his misery. I've had my cup shattered a couple of times, and coughed blood once. The boys are fine now though. As far as I can tell.
