This is an obvious statement: Lance needs to get back on track today.

What a terrible beginning. This is getting painful to watch. Strom out to kick him in the ass.

Somehow McCullers escapes the 1st inning without giving up any runs, but he threw about two innings' worth of pitches.

Fisher grounds out with the bases loaded to end the top of 2nd, still 0-0.

Fucking Iglesias with a two-out single to give Detroit a 1-0 lead.

McCullers put the runner who scored into scoring position with two outs by hitting Romine and then throwing a wild pitch.

Ohy, by the way, the guy who scored was on base because of a HBP.  Detroit leads 1-0 after two innings.

No. Fucking McCullers.

We have a JV lineup today.

This umpire seems to be unclear about the concept of the strike zone.

(1) Lance is still injured, or (2) June was a fluke, or (3) Lance needs time to get his sea legs, or (4) Lance is tipping his pitches.

At least Altuve has worked through his batting slump.

He is flying open.

His mechanics could be messed up because he's favoring something and/or throwing properly hurts.

A pair of lead-off singles leads to nothing except a couple more stranded baserunners (6 in 3 innings). Detroit still leads 1-0 in the middle of the 3rd.

someone had to have been yelling at Marwin to go to 2nd with it. Good heads-up ball.

Strom did all the talking on his first inning mound visit. Milo would have said something about a Dutch uncle.

I would really like to see an outfield of Fisher-Springer-Reddick next year. Or even this year.

Perhaps, but it also costs about $20mm per gallon.

If the Astros had played Martinez straight up yesterday in the 7th like they just did, it would have been a DP also.

McCullers has allowed at least 2 base runners in every inning, and it's finally catching up with him. 3-0 Tigers with 2 down and runner on 2nd in the 5th.

The Astros have a lot of starting pitching depth, but they need an upgrade in the worst way by the end of tomorrow.  Doesn't matter whether its Gray, Lynn, Darvish or Verlander.  Any of the four helps them now and in October.

Offense a problem now with the injuries and Gurriel's slump. We may be shut out twice in the last four games if we don't do something soon.

Get this damn thing over, and wait to see who we get. I hope Hinch and Strom have McCullers sitting between them on the flight home.

Tony Sipp has outlived his usefulness on this team. He cannot get major-league hitters out anymore. It doesn't matter if we have to go to an all-righty pen if the alternative is having Sipp in there.

That's not really among the several questions I was asking.

I'm going to piss myself laughing if they stand pat tomorrow.

Unbelievable even for you.

ETA: I do not care if you don't like the Astros because of some sort of hard on you have for the owner. A lot of us do like the team, and you do not need to come here to root against them.

Time to get on the plane and lick the wounds. Bregman avoids the shutout with a solo homer, but that's all they can muster. Detroit wins 13-1. Ugly, ugly, ugly.

List all pitchers (starters and relievers) you have confidence in if playoffs started tomorrow against NY or BOS or CLE.
