McCullers all over the place...getting squeezed isn't helping...walk, line out, walk...two BJs on, one out...

I can only see Gameday, but almost every "ball" is within the square.

Jays load the bases, one out...

It is tiny. Getting squeezed big time, but McCullers is all over the place too.

McCullers on pace to get through 4 IP if the bounces go the Astros' way.

31 pitches in the first.

The Great Escape, I had a dread feeling there.

It's vauntin' time!

Marwin!!!!
1-0 Astros
-
Alright Marwin!
-
All hail the King!!!

I was trying to be optimistic and not merely extrapolating a run rate 1st inning pitch count.

I move that the King simply put "MARWIN" on his jersey, soccer-style.

True, and at times like this I reflect how I'm most thankful that Millsy and his reign of "y," "ey," and "sy" terror is over.

Why did Altuve look like he was running in quicksand on that CS?

T3:
Springer strikes out swinging at a pitch in the dirt
Altuve with an infield single on a slow bouncer up the middle
Altuve caught stealing 2B...on a curve ball...and a lollipop throw...he didn't take off until Liriano released the ball
Correa, naturally, walks on the next pitch
Beltran grounds into FC...Correa out 6-4 at 2B
1-0 Astros
-

The answer is: poutine dessert
What are two words that should never be uttered in the same sentence?

I like that Marwin is the only player we routinely refer to by first name.
Yuli?
It sure beats some of the other options...
"George!"
"Alex!"
"Joe!"
-
Stanton is never going to shut up, is he?
-
T4:
Marwin grounds out 5-3 on a diving stop by Donaldson
McCann grounds out 6-3 into the shift

I have no idea how fried bread covered in cinnamon and sugar, cheese curds, and a meat product can possibly be a palatable combination, no less a culinary creation worthy of a 10th birthday celebration.

Yuli?
I don't. Often referred to by his last name. But Marwin is virtually never referred to as "Gonzalez".

I like that too. King Marwin from the House of Gonzalez.

Defense letting McCullers down in this inning. He should be out of it

Jays get an unearned run on an E5, wild pitch and single...we're tied 1-1

Yuli?
He's "Yuli G!" to me.

I like that too. King Marwin from the House of Gonzalez.
Who besides Marwin, Altuve and Keuchel is left from 2013?

Stanton is never going to shut up, is he?
I think he is not able to.

More defensive dick stepping puts runner at 2B and 3B with two outs...
-
B4:
Smoak grounds out 3U on the first pitch
Morales grounds to SS, where Bregman is on the shift...Bregman boots it...E5
Morales to 2B on a wild pitch that went right between McCann's legs because...well, he just doesn't block pitches well
Tulowitzki grounds into perfect double play ball, but it's simply a 6-3, with Morales moving to 3B...because...well, McCann simply doesn't block pitches very well
Pearce singles to CF, Morales scores
Pillar with a ground rule double on a fly ball to RCF, as Springer and Marisnick just look at each other but neither actually catch the ball as it drops between them. Luckily it bounced over the fence, so Pearce has to stop at 3B
Goins grounds out 4-3
Lots of traffic, lots of pain in the collective penis...we're tied 1-1
-

Per Daren Willman, Springer had an 86% catch probability; Marisnick only 21%. That one was all on George.

The radio guys thought it was a terrible jump, but maybe because Springer missed the hit and run.

Altuve with an RBI single to give the Astros a 2-1 lead
-
Who besides Marwin, Altuve and Keuchel is left from 2013?
No one else, unless you want to count Stassi.
-
The radio guys thought it was a terrible jump, but maybe because Springer missed the hit and run.
Springer probably missed it because he was in the dugout...Correa was at the plate. And it wasn't a hit and run on a 2-0 count.
-
Altuve with an RBI single to give the Astros a 2-1 lead
He's pretty good at poking the outside pitch to RF.

Correa grounds out 4-3, Springer to 3B, Altuve to 2B
Beltran pops out F4 on the first pitch
2-1 Astros

Seniority.

Single, Single, passed ball, single...3-2 Jays...nobody out in the 5th...

I hate Smoak. He used to play for Seattle, and the he's still got seaweed in his teeth.
-
RBI double...4-2 Jays...runner at 2B, one out...
-
Not one of McCullers better efforts.
-
McCullers just throwing puss now...Feliz in...5-2...one out in the 5th...
-
Another LONG night for the bullpen. Nobody is gonna enjoy the ASB any more than this bullpen.
-
Another ROOT stat claiming league average for inherited runs scoring is 9%...Can someone who tweets ask them to explain themselves?
-
What the fuck? That is your AL All-Star starting middle infield?
-
Un fucking believable...don't bother to cover 2B

There sure are a lot of blonde women in Toronto. I wonder if they're all vegans?

Terrible, and not Feliz's fault, but he compounded it by not recognizing it and taking the out at first.

B5:
Bautista singles to LF
Martin singles to LF, Bautista to 2B
Bautista to 3B, Martin to 2B on a passed ball
Donaldson...3-0...singles to RF, Bautista scores, Martin scores
Smoak strikes out swinging
Morales...full count...doubles to RCF, as Springer just stands and watches it...Marisnick has to run it down...Donaldson scores easily
Tulowitzki hammers a single to LCF, Morales scores
And McCullers is done... Feliz in
Pearce...3-0...3-1...walks, Tulowitzki to 2B
Pillar bounces back to the mound, perfect double play ball, Feliz throws to second base, but nobody bothered to cover 2B...Tulowitzki to 3B, Pearce to 2B...it's scored a TE1, but that's all on Altuve
Goins hammers one off the CF wall, Tulowitzki scores, Pearce decides not to run, and is eventually thrown out 8-4-2 by 80 feet because Pillar had already made it to 3B...scored a single, and to 2B on the throw
Bautista strikes out swinging
What a fucked up inning...6-2 Jays
-
Terrible, and not Feliz's fault, but he compounded it by not recognizing it and taking the out at first.

Not recognizing it? He turned and threw the ball over the bag, like he's supposed to do. That's 100% on Altuve.
-
I thought National Hangover Day was yesterday....
-
The Astros are playing like the Astros of not so long ago. I wonder which one slides face first into Tulowitzki's butt.
-
Lots of bitching...Marwin tossed from the dugout...Hinch out to have a word...
-
Lots of bitching...Marwin tossed from the dugout...Hinch out to have a word...
The HPU has rabbit ears.
-
T6:
Marwin srikes out swinging, bitches to ump about the strike zone suddenly expanding three orders of magnitude.
And Marwn is tossed
McCann reaches on E6...holy shit...they scored it a hit...after Tulo bobbled it like 9 times, then threw it in the dirt
Gurriel grounds into 5-4-3 double play
6-2
-
The HPU has rabbit ears.
That's not rabbit ears. Marwin turned around in the box..twice...then bitched as he walked away from the plate, then kept it up from the dugout. Ump finally had enough. As he should have.
-
And Diaz announces his presence by giving up a leadoff home run on an 0-2 pitch
-
Nice 0-2 pitch
-
Not recognizing it? He turned and threw the ball over the bag, like he's supposed to do. That's 100% on Altuve.
You're right. After watching it again, I think he recognized no one was covering but it was too late and he couldn't hold up the throw that he already initiated, which led to him kind of floating it.
-

I don't know what Marwin said but the action didn't look like it warranted him being tossed.
-

Not exactly announcing one's presence with authority.
-
I don't know what Marwin said but the action didn't look like it warranted him being tossed.
He was lucky he made it back to the dugout. Ump told him multiple times to shut the fuck up.
-
I don't know what Marwin said but the action didn't look like it warranted him being tossed.
He said that Angel Hernandez called better strikes.
-
Not exactly announcing one's presence with authority.
Oh, but he was heralding Martin's presence

The Astros should quit poutine about the bad calls.

Springer hits one 8 thousand miles an hour, but right at Pillar, who is nearly knocked over by it at the track
Altuve grounds out 6-3 on the first pitch
Correa...full count...taps back to the mound...1-3
And a really, really ugly night mercifully comes to an end...Astros go down 7-4

Well, I hope they got that out of their system.

If you want to hear true BBG taunting that Kalas could only dream of, listen to the Dodgers home Tv broadcast... one of them said they were going to sweep the DBacks tonight in the bottom of the second inning in a scoreless game. Later, when they acknowledged that some of their fans were complaining that they were" jinxing things" they responded with (in a tweet to a tweeting/complaining fan) "you have a 100% chance of getting abducted by aliens tonight".
Yes, it's funny, but damn... the reaction around here to that behavior would be epic.
