Memory is flawed, but it seems the Astros have been catching a lot of key players fresh off the DL. Freeman at 3B should be interesting to watch. He hasn't played there since HS, IIRC and worked on it during his rehab.

Reddick and Altuve switched in order. Interesting.
-
Reddick and Altuve switched in order. Interesting.
I'm guessing it has to do with no DH and a lefty on the mound?
-
nothing more exciting than a rain delay.
-
And we're off!
-
T1:
Springer...0-2...doubles down LF line
Altuve...0-2..flailing at pitches at his eyes three feet off the plate...1-2...strikes out flailing at a pitch at his eyes three feet off the plate
Reddck...0-2...reaches on an E4...Springer to 3B...now rules a base hit, why no one knows
Correa soft grounder to 2B, Reddick runs right into the tag and it's an easy 4-3 double play, costing the Astros a run.
No score
-
I don't understand how Major League players cannot understand the simplest of base running fundamentals.
-
B1:
Inciarte...0-2...1-2...2-2...3-2...flies out F8
Philips with a nubber back to the mound...1-3
Freeman singles to CF...good diving bid by Springer, but came up just short
Kemp taps back to the mound
No score
-
Kemp has put on a few lbs.

Yuli with an RBI double...Astros grab a 1-0 lead
-
Gurriel is so damn good right now- he's everything Carlos Beltrain is not.
-
King Marwin and da Yuli G show.
-
Yuli does not give a damn.
-
T2:
Marwin with a flair double down the RF line
McCann pops out F2 behind the plate
Gurriel...0-2...1-2...doubles down LF line, Marwn scores

Is he sitting next to a hot Latina?

That would be cool.
-
Is he sitting next to a hot Latina?
No, some white broad squarely on the Buckhead - Dunwoody axis. Apparently she is quite the fucking conversationalist.
-
Springer Dinger!
2-0
-
Springer ding dinger!
-
Altuve was truckin'!
-

I know one of the original Buckhead Fuckheads.
-
Yuli is missing out if he doesn't wear fully matching jacket and pant velour jumpsuits.
For the last ten minutes I've been amusing myself thinking about him walking up and down the dugout asking idiotic questions and making completely inane comments. He does sort of have the glasses.
-
Astros with runners on the corners, one out...
-
For a brief moment I thought that crazy bounce might elude the center fielder.
-
Jesus, Marwin almost killed Reddick.
-
Astros with the bases juiced...one out...
-
If you get hit twice with one pitch, you should get second.
-
Stop sucking McCann.
-
It pays to be 6'4"
-
Bad luck line drive for McCann...two out...bases still loaded.
-
That was some rotten luck for McCann. He hit that ball hard.
-
You can't throw it inside to Gurriel.
-
Yuli "Don't Give a Shit" Gurriel with a 3-run double!
5-0
-
At some point people are going to learn that they're not going to beat Yuli on the inside part of the plate. He's like the right-handed equivalent of a left-hander on down-and-in stuff.
-
Yuli does not give a damn.
-
T3:
Springer...3-0...hacking...3-1...3-2...homers to RF
Altuve grounds to 2B...Philips is in no hurry...infield single
Reddick grounds into FC, Altuve out 4-6 at 2B
Correa...3-0...3-1...3-2...singles to RCF, Reddick, running on the pitch, easily makes 3B
Marwin...3-2...hit by pitch...Reddick to 2
McCann...quickly 0-2...lines up the middle...with the shift it's right at Swanson who dives for the bag at 2B...Correa able to di e in right ahead...tough luck there
Gurriel doubles to LF, Reddick scores, Correa scores, Marwin scores...Gurriel to 3B on the throw to the plate
Bregman intentionally walked
Peacock grounds out 3U
5-0 Astros

Tony DeFeancesco, isn't he still managing Fresno? And where's Pettis?
-
Tony DeFeancesco, isn't he still managing Fresno? And where's Pettis?
Pettis is having some sort of surgery, I believe. Tony D is taking his place temporarily.
-
Pettis is having some sort of surgery, I believe.
Shoulder?
-
Shoulder?
Yeah. He threw up a stop sign and something popped.
-
B3:
Swanson...0-2...strikes out swinging
Newcomb...0-2...strikes out looking
Inciarte singles to RF
Philips lines out to LF
5-0 Astros
-
Shoulder?
Knee surgery. Torn meniscus. He'll be back a bit after ASG break.
-
Astros with bases loaded and one out in the fourth, chasing Newcomb...
-
Correa's attempt wasn't a great calculated risk.

-
Nice try by Correa. Almost caught them napping.
-
T4:
Springer lines a single to LF
Altuve flies out F9
Reddick singles to RF, Springer to 2B
Correa...3-0...walks, Springer to 3B, Reddick to 2B
And that'll be it for Newcomb, Jackson in
Marwin...turned around batting lefty...3=1...infield single up the middle...Philips knocks it down, but no play anywhere, Springer scores, Reddick to 3B, Correa to 2B
McCann grounds out 3-1, on a hard hit ball, Reddick scores, Marwin to 2B...Correa tries to score rom 2B for whatever reason and is easily thrown out 1-2 to end the inning with the hottest hitter coming up.
7-0 Astros
-
Correa's attempt wasn't a great calculated risk.

Yeah. It's the one flaw in his game, but, damn, aren't they aggressive.
-
Correa's attempt wasn't a great calculated risk.

7-0 lead...it wasn't great, but it wasn't the worst thing in the world.
-
Nice try by Correa. Almost caught them napping.
Cause you didn't really think Gurriel could get much done with runners at 2B and 3B?
-
I don't know if you guys saw but Hinch came out to argue.
-
Hinch challenging something about that last play...possibly whether or not Jackson held on the to ball at 1B...whatever it is, play stands and inning over
-
Cause you didn't really think Gurriel could get much done with runners at 2B and 3B?
I like that he saw the pitcher and firstbaseman dicking around and took a chance in a 7-0 game,
-
I like that he saw the pitcher and firstbaseman dicking around and took a chance in a 7-0 game,
OK. I thought it was more stupid than aggressive, especially with your hottest hitter due up.
And now Correa hurt...and out of the game....
-
Shitfuck.
-
Correa out after the slide at 3B...looks like a hand or shoulder...Marwin to SS, Aoki to LF
-
B4:

Kemp...0-2...strikes out swinging
Markakis...0-2...flair single to RF
Adams...0-2...flies out to shallow CF

-
Bregman joins the RBI party...8-0
-
And Peacock...who is 0 for his career, draws a four pitch walk
-
Correa update...left thumb "discomfort". Doesn't sound too bad
-
"Left thumb discomfort" is the word on Correa.

Astros with the bases loaded and nobody out...
-
Altuve missed a grand slam by 4 ft.
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
-
Altuve with an RBi double...Springer right behind Peacock yelling "GO!!!" is thrown out because Peacock barely made it to the plate...from 2B...on a double to deep CF
10-0
-
T5:
Gurriel singles up the middle...but nobody is one base...cause he's leading off the inning...after Correa was thrown out at the plate with runners at 2B and 3B to end the last inning...on a ground out in the infield...and injured himself in the process
Bregman...0-2...1-2...2-2...doubles down the LF line...Gurriel scores
Peacock...3-0...walks on four pitches...first time in his career being on base
Springer...then swings at the first pitch in the dirt...now 0-2...1-2...2-2...full count...walks, Bregman to 3B, Peacock to 2B
Altuve doubles off the CF wall, Bregman scores, Peacock scores, Springer thrown out 8-4-2 about a foot behind Peacock.
Reddick flies out F8, Altuve to 3B
Aoki flies out F8
10-0 Astros
-
Not a great read by Peacock on Altuve's smash.
-
*Springer looks back, sees the ball go over CF'ers head* "Yeah, I can score on that, no problem." *Looks ahead of him* "Oh SHIT!"
-
Not a great read by Peacock on Altuve's smash.
Had Springer not ran up to him at 2B and yelled "GO!!!", I don't think he'd have made 3B
-
Chamito hit the ball 400 feet into the gap. Peacock should have been in the dugout by the time the outfielder actually got to the ball.
-
B5:
Flowers...3-2...strikes out swinging
Swanson...3-2...walks
Adams, pinch hitting for Jackson...another full count...strikes out looking
Inciarte flies out F9
10-0 Astros
-
That whole Springer-Peacock thing reminded me of the play in some White Sox game about 20 years ago when two guys came steaming in like that and *both* of them were tagged out.
ETA: I was wrong, it was in 1985. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QqupB5DpnU4
-
Didn't Pence almost plow into the runner in front of him as they both slid into home once? Luke Scott maybe?
-
T6:
Someone else is pitching for the Braves, I'm getting strawberries, so I didn't pay attention
Marwin pops out F4
McCann grounds out 4-3
Gurriel strikes out swinging
10-0

Technically a pizza burger. And they talked at length about it the other night.
-
B6:
Someone flies out F7...Kalas won't say, he's too busy with Julia "It's not as big as I thought it was going to be" Morales and the pizza burger
Freeman strikes out swinging
Kemp taps back to the mound
10-0 Astros
-
Anyone know the story of the white boxes seats in RF?
It's Georgia.
-
Bregman with another ball that just misses being a homer. And that brings Peacock up again. He's got to wonder what's going on.
-
I don't like the asymmetrical layout of the pepperoni slices on that pizza burger. The haphazard look of pepperoni slices thrown about the pizza/bun surface is a total turn off. Poor eye appeal, reeks of shoddy craftsmanship.
-
Anyone know the story of the white boxes seats in RF?
I think that's a restaurant area, and those are tables/seats
-
Altuve!!!
12-0
-
Little Big Man!!!
-
T7:
Bregman doubles off the LCF wall
Peacock grounds out 4-3, Bregman to 3B
Springer strikes out swinging
Altuve crushes a hanging slider for a homer run to LF, Bregman scores
Reddick pops out F5
12-0 Astros
-
Didn't Pence almost plow into the runner in front of him as they both slid into home once? Luke Scott maybe?
If it's the same play I'm thinking of, Pence was about a half a step behind Mark Loretta on the bases and had to take a huge turn around 3B to keep from plowing into him on the way home.
-
Dude singing has some pipes.
-
TV guys talk too much. I wish they still valued the "let the picture tell the story" method.
-
Peacock starting to wear down...double, single, double...12-1, runners at 2B and 3B, nobody out for the Braves
-
Ol' two tone wall, an homage to all the Braves fans' favorite 1993 F-150 custom paint job.

This is a bit of a non sequitor, but Kalas has no respect for jinx ethics and it irks me.

No kidding. He mentioned the "no hitter" when McCuller's was throwing one, constantly talks about guys who don't hit home runs, playoffs, etc.
-
Another 2-run single chases Peacock...12-3, Braves on the corners, nobody out...
Tolliver in
-
Tolliver's motion seems pretty jerky.
-
B7:
Markakis...full count...doubles off the RCF wall
Adams with a swinging bunt single, Markakis to 3B
Flowers with a grounds rule double to LCF, Markakis scores, Adams to 3B
Swanson...full count...walks
Santana, pinch hitting for the pitcher, singles to RF on the first pitch...Adams scores, Flowers scores, Swanson to 3B
That's it for Peacock...Tolliver in
First pitch to Inciarte goes through McCann's legs, hits the umpire...Santana, chasing 9 runs, tries to take 2B and is thrown out...score it 2-6
Inciarte flies out F9 in shallow RCF...Swanson holds...Kalas incredulous that trailing by 9 runs, the Braves don't try to force the issue
Philips walks
Freeman lines out to 1B
12-3 Astros
-
I wouldn't mind it if all the Astros fans in attendance started a "let's go Astros" chant.
-
T8:
Aoki nubs one back to the pitcher...1-3
Marwin...full count...strikes out looking
McCann...only starting position player without a hit...pops to shallow LF
12-3 Astros
-
I gotta get to bed...someone else close it out for me
-
my neighbors spent a lot of money on
fierworks fireworks this year.
-
Kemp scores on a sac fly. 12-4
-
Bregman with a knock up the middle. Marisnick to bat.
-
They never quit talking. no one gives a shit about the '91 Braves.
-
Jake flies out to RCF for the second out of the inning. Springer batting -- needs a triple.
-
Springer's 4th hit of the night is an infield single. Altuve batting with runners on 1st and 2nd.
-
Altuve works the count full, foul, ball four. Bases juiced, two outs Reddick batting
Reddick hits a grand salami. 16-4
-
Aoki batting, two outs no one on.
-
Aoki grounds out 3-1 to end the Astros half of the 9th. Astros 16 Braves 4
-
Hoyt on to close it out. It's nice knowing he could give up 2 grand slams and still have a 4 run lead.
-
B9
Hoyt on the rubber
Hoyt get the first guy to ground out 4-3
Inciarte grounds out 1-3
Camargo strikes out.
Game over Astros 16 Braves 4
-
Gurriel is so damn good right now- he's everything Carlos Beltrain is not.
You mean 40 years old?
