What a fucking moron. (https://twitter.com/LMcCullers43/status/875057943460421632) I hope this helped inspire the offensive explosion last night.

Seriously, I would hit him with my car.

I liked Ron Washington a lot better. Shit, even Bobby Valentine, while a bigger jackass, was probably less of a dickhead than Bannister.
-
Bannister is like a dickhead villain from an 80s movie.

It says Texas across their chest because: DallasFtWorthArlingtonGrandePrairieMesquiteHurstEulessBedfordGrapevineRichardsonGarlandDeSotoMansfieldBenbrookHaltomCityNorthRichlandHillsCarrolltonDuncanvilleFarmersBranch, wouldn't fit.

I tip my hat Sphinx.

I think it might fit across his gut.

I think it might fit across his gut.
Plenty of room on his ego.

Well, I'll give him one thing - it's too bad the Astros didn't have the choice to use "Texas" because they came to Texas after the Rangers.
Eh? Oh.

Now they just have to change their name The United States Astros.

That still wouldn't work in most of Texas.
-
include all 6 flags and have a uni for each day of the week.. wait might get confusing that would NEVER happen with the astros.. (as a rainbow breaks out)

So for those of those that don't tweet... what is this about exactly?

He said something to the effect of "They have 'Houston' across their chests, we have 'Texas' across ours"
And LMJ responded with "That's because nobody knows where Arlington is"

Banny is a smug cocksucker of the highest order, and he's long since replaced John Gibbons as skipper I'd most like to clock in his goddam jaw.

You should tweet. Astros Twitter - at least the good ones - are not quite TZ/GZ level, and some of the shtick gets old, but I enjoy it.
Speaking of... Who among you is on twitter?

Twitter is the worst place on the internet. And it's often a fun place to be

Twitter and Facebook represent the decline of civilization.
-
Maybe so, but it's hard for me to definitively decry social media from a message board.
Twitter is awful. Twitter is great. All good.

I've never been able to figure out how Twitter works. So fuck it.
-
I have a little interest in Twitter but I don't have time to do a lot of the stuff that I'm interested in, so I don't fuck with it unless I follow someone's link
-
I do Facebook and hate it. Absolutely hate it. At this point I have to keep the thing up for professional reasons. God it sucks. If twitter is anything like it then no thanks I'll stick to one pit of narcissistic irrelevance.
-
I like FB mainly to keep up with people I don't get to see much. And I love Jim's posts to idiots that live in our neighborhood.
Sometimes Twitter can be too much to handle, especially when you see threads that go on forever about things that don't interest you. But since Google shuttered Reader 5 years ago and I have yet to find a blog/news aggregator since they I like nearly as much, Twitter is my preferred means for keeping up with news and current events. It fills a different void for me than FB.

You don't like talking movies much either, do you?

This is not "social media". This is a place for likeminded individuals to come together to fight like hell.
-
This particular board, sure. OWA is not representative of message boards in general, IMO.

I'm am but i don't tweet just check scores and sometimes random stuff.

i dont even do facebook tho i think i have a page
-
I really enjoy twitter, I all but quit FB awhile back.
Twitter enjoyment is completely dependent on who you follow, it is much easier to customize your feed than facebook with its ridiculous algorithm that picks and chooses what shows up in your feed.
Because of who I follow on twitter, i get a constant stream of sports (Astros, UH, Rockets, NCAA football), news, travel infor, work related stuff, food beverage, and stuff going on in Houston. In the order they were posted. There are quite a few Astros fans I follow and interact with during games that I find either funny or knowledgeable, I really enjoy twitter during games. For breaking news and following world events it is fantastic too.....if you follow the right accounts.

Especially around the trade deadline if you follow some of the national guys

Twitter is my only source for sports news besides watching PTI on ESPN everyday. Being able to customize who I follow is the greatest feature. I'm active on FB too but not for sports stuff.

. . . But since Google shuttered Reader 5 years ago and I have yet to find a blog/news aggregator since they I like nearly as much . . .
I use Google's replacement for Reader, Flipboard, but I liked reader better. Flipboard does have a few good features, and its the primary way I see tweets of people I follow. It doesn't do a whole thread on the tweets, i.e. I if Footer is responding to a question it'll just show her response and the tweet to which she's responding so it's less rabbit -holey than the Twitter app (That thing makes my head hurt).
But if anyone has a good aggregator, please share.

Exactly.
Facebook is where I see what old friends/acquaintances are up to in life. Twitter is where I get news (of all kinds -- politics, sports, entertainment, etc.) and commentary.

I use Feedly. It's good.

I've been pretty happy with the digg reader (digg.com/reader). It can be a little bit buggy at times, but generally took the place of Google Reader for me.

Texas coughs up one in the eighth and three in the ninth blowing a three run lead and succumbing to the White Sox.
