Last 99 at bats, 44 strikeouts. I wonder how many on three pitches.
-

44 k's in his last 99 AB according to Tags.
-
What is up with Springer? Needs to get his eyes checked...so many K's on hittable pitches for him in the past.
-
Ashby, you dipshit. Correa was pissed because he missed a meatball, not because he was trying to take the ball to right.
-
Man, both the foul ball and the double by Correa sounded like car crashes, not bat hitting ball.

Gattis' home run swing was one of the more unlikely home run swings I have seen in a while, especially in that park.
-
Dear A's drum squad,
1.) You're annoying.
2.) You make no sense.
3.) Shut up.
-
That's all the PBP I have to time to crib from MLB at bat. Glad it coincided with taking a lead.
-
Check out the big balls on Springer.
-
Check out the big balls on Springer.
That was fucking awesome.
Semen half assed his look back. Zoom zoom.
(and yes, that was intentional)
-
Sipp doing what he does...5-3, runner at 3B and one out.
-
Springer must have known we'd use Sipp.

5-4 now...two out

Nice job by Neshek to stop the bleeding.

Today? He's been killing it for a good while now.

Blum: Gattis put his head down like he felt sorry for that baseball.
-
That was career HR #100 for Gattis.

Gregorson in for the ninth. Wonder what's up with Giles.

He pitched last night and the night before. And he threw a lot of pitches last night.
-
Thanks.

Gregerson getting royally fucked by the ump in the 9th...struck out Pinder three fucking times that at bat, instead the tying run comes to the plate with two out.

Seriously? I'm on the radio feed.

Meanwhile Bautista hits a game tying home run.
-
Now he strikes out Vogt and gets fucked.

Was there a bat flip involved?
-
Jesus!!! Another fucking blown third strike.
-
Gregerson has already gotten six fucking outs this inning.
-
Incredible.
-
Altuve boots an easy ball right through his legs.
This is unfucking believable.

Altuve is just ridiculous in the field.

Nice job by Gregerson, who had to get NINE fucking outs that inning.
-
FORKING HUGE
-
As if anybody cares but, no champagne for Arlington tonight.

I would hate for that to have been Giles getting squeezed. He doesn't have Gregerson's composure.

Gregerson certainly seemed to be the right guy to pitch around the multiple bad calls and 2-out error.
-
Mark and I were listening to the As radio guys in the 9th. they agreed with HH. one of them said "Looks like the (home plate umpire's name) has decided Vogt has to put the ball in play if there will be a 3rd out." he also called Pinder's checked swing strike three.

I'm not normally one to bitch about calls like that and think the pitcher has to sometimes pitch around it. But geez, Gregerson made pitch after pitch after pitch and simply got screwed. If that whole inning would have gone to hell, Gregerson would have been the last guy on the field to blame. He did his job and then some, and appeared way calmer than I was in my living room losing my shit. Glad it all ended well.

the PBP guy on the (I think) 0-2 pitch to Vogt said "That was right down the middle" when it was called a ball.

If it was the 0-2 pitch, it wasn't right down the middle, but it was a nasty-ass pitch that clearly shaved off a good deal of the stirke zone. Gregerson was completely justified in heading toward the dugout, assuming the game was over. I agree w/ HH: bitching about ball/strike calls is usually lame and counterproductive, but yesterday's 9th inning display of poor umpiring was almost unique. It was worse than Angel Hernandez; it brought back memories of Charlie Williams.
On a positive note: When he's on, I think Gregerson might have more movement on his pitches than any non-knuckleballer out there.

Agreed. When Gregerson is on, it's almost like he can yell "here it comes, see if you can hit it", and they usually won't.

when the should-have-been-game-ending grounder was hit to Altuve I had this sinking feeling in my stomach that he was going to boot it. Not because I don't trust him but it was the anxiety based on what else was happening and that mausoleum they were playing in where weird shit happens. Also because it was hit straight to him and when I played ball I always found grounders hit right to me more difficult than most.
