Wow, doom and gloom. Come on people, cheer up!
-
Well the Astros didn't hit a solo HR in the bottom of the first, so they can actually still win this one!
-
Astros waste a lead off single by Springer. Bregman K, Altuve K, Correa chopper to the second baseman.

Can someone tell Springer to stop attempting to steal bases?

In the second, Rasmus gounds out, Gattis stares at strike 3, Tucker pops out in foul territory.

They're still working on a way to tell Gomez tactfully to stop showing up.

Lots of innings with blanks, and this ump isn't helping.
It would be nice to see some adjustments as it's apparent how he is going to pitch right handers.
-
White's grounder gets past Stroman, Stroman chases it down, fires to first, ball sails ten feet wide of the bag, HPU calls it a strike.
-
I fuckin' hate that Pokey Man shit.
-
That's some kind of strike zone,

I fuckin' hate that Pokey Man shit.
That's what she said?

Okay, Pokemon... If they mention it again I turning off the game and going to read a book.

I'm glad Ashby isn't around to harp on all the crap going on.

Fister silently thanking his unborn child for not arriving today and thus prohibiting him from pitching on a night when the strike zone is as vast as the average waist size of dollar hot dog night enthusiasts.

One would think the Astros would relish the opportunity to hack at any pitch remotely approaching a strike.

Nope. Nobody deserves that. Even that guy from the ALDS last year. I'll have a shot of it at the next opportunity though.

Devenski was really solid against the top of the order. He threw some nasty pitches with two strikes that barely missed and still managed to retire them in order.

Watching a Gattis AB like that (and there are so, so many like that) makes you realize how often MLB pitchers must make mistakes, because Gattis has somehow still managed to hit .220 with a bunch of homers.

How else would you explain Gomez's 61 hits?

And I feel like I've seen it used all over the place.

Did Gattis just break his fucking bat on a 3-0 pop-up? It was off the handle, at the very least.
-
He's oblivious to what the pitcher will do
He just swung at a breaker at his shins on 3-0 to end the inning. Maybe the Astros can get a group rate for therapy for him, Rasmus, Gomez.

Could have sworn he yelled "captain caveman" as he did it.

Devenski still pitching... Badass.

Gattis lead the league in "pitches that would have hit him in the ankles had he not swung at it"

I want to see Devo start.

I love him out of the pen.

Holy Shit. I let our dog outside for his pre-bedtime piss... back in the top of the 9th. Totally forgot about him until a scratch at the door reminded me, just now.

On it.
All joking aside I thought it a little odd Bregman had no clue to help signal his runners on the wild pitch. The ball bounced away and he put his head down and started digging in for the next pitch without a care in the world (Correa just recently scored from second on one of these as you all remember). I know it's not his job... Just something I'm used to seeing. Feel free to blow that observation to wherever it should be...

He thought he had it all off the bat (so did I).

Altuve scored easily but he didn't start running in earnest until it became apparent that the ball was staying in the yard. Which was basically when it smacked off the wall.
-
I love him out of the pen.
I agree, the move to the pen has done wonders for him. I wonder if late innings are in his near future.

Big, big win. I just hope they haven't broken Bregman.
