2-1 'stros in 5the thanks to a gogo bomb. He's still a shithead.
-
Where the hell is everybody? Maybe it's raining in Houston again and everyone has lost their signal.
-
The 7 and 9 hitters have both RBIs for the Rangers tonight.
-
Holy fuck, Jake!
-
Holy fuck, Jake!
He looked like Spiderman climbing that wall.
-
Mazara thinks he's Andrew Jones. Too good to make a routine catch with two hands.
-
Smiley Beltre bounces into DP. End of 6...2-2. rangers have 6 hits to 2 for our guys.
-
If we had won 3 of the 7 games against these guys we would be within a couple of games of the division lead. Think about that for a minute.
-
Marwin leads off 7th with a double.
-
Fucking double plays. They just kill you

Another DP. At least this one wasn't the first pitch after a walk.
-
Marwin leads off 7th with a double.
And gets stranded at 3b.
-
Dammit.

wasn't raining earlier, might be now but i'm not going to look out the window. what's to comment on the fact that the astros are doing a great job of leaving runners on base again this game?
-
The leadoof double followed by Carlos the jaackass striking out with all body parts flying in different directions. (yes, I know he stumbled into one early) Then White singles up the middle advancing Marwin. Could have been a run if Gomez had just moved the runner to third with a ground out to the right side. Then Marisnick grounds into a DP and no fucking runs out of a lead off double. It is hard to play situational baseball with Gomez being involved.
-
The Gomez strikeout was equally as shitty. Falling down the first baseline on an inside pitch he had no prayer of touching.

Marwin has to know where the shortstop is on that play. He goes on the hit and he scores.
-
Margwin tries to steal a base with a good jump has to go back and that surprise is gone
Suicide squeeze would have worked ended up being foul.
Good ideas but enough hate from the baseball gods for them not to work. Makes me wonder what you assholes did to piss off the gods.

Yep, another play not made.
-
Gomez really bothers me. I think he is poison to this team. As a lifelong Astros fan, in my sixth decade, I can never remember wanting someone cut or traded as much as I do this freak.
-
Keuchel gets Muggsy Odor out on ground ball to open the Rangers 7th. Big Tub of Goo Fielder Ks. Rua singles up the middle and advances to second on a pitch blocked by Gattis. Andrus k's for Keuchel's 8th of the evening. End of 7. Bring it home boys.

I hear you. There was a guy the team traded for in the 60's named Dave Nicholson that was a one-dimensional OFer from the AL. He would hit an occasional HR and strikeout the rest of the time. He was a statue in the OF so Gomez at least has that going for him.
-
Wow, you know it's bad when Jose has an AB like that.
-
I wonder if Biggio ever walks into the clubhouse and says "Hey, bitches, I went an entire *season* without hitting into a double play."
-
Did he really do that?
-
ugh
-
I was wondering about the wisdom of bringing Keuchel back out for the 8th.
-
Fuck

This sucks.

I'll say this for Gomez: he made a heck of an effort on both of those homers.
-
Fuck, fuck, fuck.

I thought he had this one. Damn

Did you honestly think the Astros were/are going to win this game? It's just going to get uglier now.
-
Desmond was pretty shitty the past couple of years.
-
He still leaves too many pitches over the middle of the plate.
-
Fuck, fuck, fuck.
This.
x a billion.

I turned it off after the homer. I think I feel worse after the last two games than I did after the sweep in Houston.
-
After they didn't score in the 8th with the top of the order I was thinking how much I didn't want the Rangizz to get another walk-off... Guess I got what I wanted.
-

The good news is that I'm starting a week of vacation tomorrow, so I don't have to go to the office and hear about this from the resident Rangers fan. He's not a bad guy, and he's not obnoxious about it, but it still gets old.
Anybody got any don't-miss recommendations for downtown Denver? I lived there 45 years ago, but I imagine it's changed a bit. Our daughter is getting married Saturday up near Golden, Sunday we're going to the Rockies-Padres game, and Monday we're spending in Denver proper before returning home on Tuesday.

He's shitty now. At least when he's not playing the Astros.

Not when the top 5 hitters go 0-fer.
-
Neshek was ready to go, why stretch Keuchel?
Hinch really has some head scratchers this year.
-
Every game against the Rangers is more frustrating than the last. Fuck this

He was going to use this as *the* turnaround game, the one where Keuchel shows everybody that he's back, the one where they show the Rangers that they're done being doormats. It was a nice plan, except for one flaw.

LH hitters have an ops of 1.389 against Neshek and two of the scheduled batters were lefties.

his team can't score anyone in scoring position?
-
This Rangers bullpen is one of the worst in the league and it feels like we can't even get a fucking hit.

I just don't know who else to bring in? Feliz and Giles were used last night. Gregerson I suppose or Devenski.
Not great options, I just felt Dallas was done after 7.
-
All these double plays have made me pine a little bit for KK's HR/K polarity of being.

A place called Snooze for breakfast.
-
Gomez's swings are becoming more cartoonish by the pitch.
-
I really hate watching Gomez hit, but I can't turn away. It's my most morbid voyeuristic curiosity

Ok, two flaws. Or more.

How embarrassing for Dyson walking Gomez.
-
Amazing. He let two shitty pitches go by. Progress.
-
"Don't worry, fellas. I'm setting up the game ending DP."

Gomez catching his own helmet when it flies off should demand an intervention.
Dyson walking Gomez should demand a head exam.
-
We have the tying run at 3rd base with less than 2 outs. What could possibly go wrong?

Signs of a spine? Or do we end it with a signature DP?
-
don't get false hopes, they still get an at-bat.
-
Kemp PH for Marisnick? Sink or swim for that young man, I suppose
-
Dyson strikes kemp out on three pitches without throwing one over the plate.

Well, at least it won't be the DP. Of course, now Springer -- still on my fantasy roster, remember -- is up.
-
The Astros will never beat the Rangers. They try and I truly believe they try but it seems they will never beat them.
-
And of course they play Pat Green on the PA when they win.

Kemp for Marisnick? Uh.....I don't like it in that situation.

I don't mind Kemp for marisnick. Keuchel should have been done after 7 though

Credit to the Astros for fighting back in the top of the ninth. Given how demoralizing the bottom of the eight must have been, they showed some pride. This will turn eventually. Frankly, if this has to keep up, I want them to meet Rangers in a playoff series and beat Texas like a drum. They strike me as a-holes.
-
Not a great way to start a series, but both games could've gone either way.
This team is still fun to watch, although I wish they'd get rid of Gomez.
-
I do believe they have lost 8 straight to the Rangers.
And I also believe the Rangers are assholes.
-
Three years of historic misery for this.
-
28-24 against MLB minus stRangers. They have owned us but plenty of close games.
-

Consider them the last frontier. They will be conquered.
-
It is hard to root for a team that is its natural rival's bitch.
Maybe "hard" isn't the word. Agonizing.

If Houston had split 4 of the first 8 losses with Texas both teams would have 32 wins but Texas would lead the division by a game due to two fewer losses.
Ifs and buts.....
