In a perfect world, no one would have to work and all games would start at 2:40pm CST.
-
Thank heavens. Gomez is back. Right when we were starting to look good.
-
Jesus, look alive George (ran into Altuve ground ball).

Correa eliminated George's mistake by walking.

Hardly. Bases should be loaded with nobody out.
-
I remember that guy.
-
Great play by Bourn to rob the caveman. I think MM is smoking the good stuff if he thinks Altuve would've gotten an infield hit.
-
White strikes out to end a frustrating top of the first.
-
ugh Bourn playing the role of avenger early in this game. First saves 2 runs with a catch and now a bunt single
-
Ashby admits he wasn't watching the game. Asks Blum, "was that a bunt?"

Sun was in his eyes

Had the ball not hit Springer he's a dead duck at third. If he held Altuve is out at first.
-
I don't know about McCullers. He has good stuff but doesn't employee it well.
-

Radio guy says he has had to make changes to his mechanics to protect his shoulder and reasons that for his troubles early
-
Ahhh. I'd missed those patient ab's by Gomez.
-
Gomez (shockingly) strikes out, but Marisnick scalds a two out double. Now just need LMJ to knock him in.
-
Springer 3 run dinger!
-
Springer!!!
-
What a job by LMJ to bring him up. Was sure they were snakebit when he hit the ball too sharply to let the run score.
-
Radio guy says he has had to make changes to his mechanics to protect his shoulder and reasons that for his troubles early
And even more troubles later?
-
Is Springer and All-Star? I know he won't get voted in.
-
Springer sure seems to like that leadoff spot.
-
And even more troubles later?
Apologies, I think I added the early. He was just elaborating how having to think about the mechanics instead of being instinctive could cause bouts of wildness. I found it interesting since I hadn't heard he changed his mechanics

This was Sparks I assume?
-
I'm impressed with Gattis catching. And Ashby is really getting on my nerves today.

And Ashby is really getting on my nerves today.
Maybe we should just add this to the standard gamezone lineup template to save typing.
-
This was Sparks I assume?
I think so. I have messed up their voices/names before so I don't guess anymore
-
It's 3-2 Astros through 3 innings if anyone was wondering.
-
I was. Thank you.
-
Marisnick would like to keep the starting role. rbi single up the middle.
Valbueana walked went to second on wild pitch with Gomez batting
Gomez failed to go the other way to move the runner but beat out the play for an infield hit
Marisnick laced one up the middle
-
Marisnick doesn't want to ride the pine.

Two nice at bats today for Marisnick!
-
I was. Thank you.
Jake has blistered the ball in both ABs today.
-
Gomez really knocked the crap out of that one.
-
Ashby's math skills are pretty rudimentary.

This is a bullshit post.
Ashby has no skills.
-
I've been watching off and on at work, and just now realized that's Mike fucking Milken they are talking to.
-
BTW - for BG's sake, Springer continues to be out of his mind, hits a single to CF that scores one (runners were at 2nd and 3rd after LMJ hit a high chop that impersonated a sac bunt). DBacks have seen enough of Corbin, going to the pen - 5-2 good guys, runners 1st and 3rd with one out.
-
I've missed everything after the McCullers single. Hard rain knocked out my Direct TV, but I like what I haven't seen.
-

Milliken: Men that like hamburgers can get rid of 80% of the carcinigens by flipping the burger four times in cooking
Ashby: So you cook them twice on each side?
Milliken: You flip them four times.
Ashby: Well, to me that's two times on each side.
-
I do appreciate the pbp since I have to work.
-
Altuve rbi single 6-2.
-
Altuve rbi single 6-2.
Missed being another brutal at'em ball by about 2 inches.
-
It seems like the D-backs are going to be glad the Astros are leaving town today.
-
It seems like the D-backs are going to be glad the Astros are leaving town today.
Yes but they are following them to Houston.
-
Correa walks on a full count.
Caveman up. bases juiced one out
-

Jokes on them!
-
Gattis pinballs one off the pitchers glove to second for an rbi ground out

Did his damnedest to hit into another double play.

Man oh man.
-
White ground out to third. 7-2 Astros mid 4
-
Man oh man.
That was painful.
At least Milken has done a lot of good with his fortune, I wish all rich corrupt scumbags would do the same.
-
McCullers K, groundout, single, K. 7-2 Astros after 4
31 pitches first inning. 37 since.
-

He got caught. Then he did time. Then he got cancer. I wish all rich corrupt scumbags would do the same. But yeah, redemption is also part of his story.
-
Valbueana homers to right. 8-2
-
Gomez strikes out on 4 sliders. Took the first. none were strikes. Anybody have a fork?
-
Last two swings were at unhittable pitches.
-
Marisnick with a line drive to Bourn for an out. 2 down
-
McCullers gives one a ride for an out. 8-2 mid 5
-
McCullers looks far better at the plate than Gomez does.
-
Marisnick with a line drive to Bourn for an out. 2 down
3 good swings today. Whatever adjustments he's made have unlocked the inner slugger.
-
I wonder when the last time Gomez had his eyes checked. He can't see for shit, maybe glasses would help.
-

It has been remarkable, and heartbreaking to see a career meltdown so quickly.
I suppose there's a chance he could get "it" back, but it doesn't look good. The only thing I can think of is Steve Sax's sudden inability to make the easiest throw in baseball from 2nd to 1st, or perhaps Johnny Miller's epic career meltdown in golf.
It really is just godawful to watch.
-
McCullers got a quick out but has run into a control problem again. 2 consecutive walks
-
"I'm trying to be professional and help you out a bit on the broadcast."
Not sure how serious Blum was being there.
-

Agent Bourn tried to tag on a 390 foot shot off the wall. Bases loaded 1 out
-
Listening to radio. How the hell did that end up a single?

That was a the hardest deepest single you'll ever see.
-
K makes it 2 out bases loaded

Man on first and second, runner on 2nd fucked up and could only take third.
-
Wild pitch 8-3
-
K. 8-3 after 5
Guessing that is it for McCullers after that 28 pitch effort in the 5th
-
That could have been a lot worse than 1 run. Does McCullers pitch the 6th?
-

Hell no. Feliz time.
-

If he does then one of us might need to get to Arizona to pitch the 19th inning.
-
I missed that half inning. Went quickly. 8-3 mid 6. I'm out
-
McCullers is infuriating. He is his own worst enemy.

Love the arm talent, really wish he'd learn to pitch more effectively
-

He's only 22. I think he's got some time to figure it out.
-
Marwin always finds a way to contribute and he rarely fucks up.
-
Gomez takes a four pitch walk to start the 8th.
-
Jake hits into a 6-4-3 DP.
-
Man on first and second, runner on 2nd fucked up and could only take third.
Marwin begs to differ.
-
Marwin bangs one of the RF wall for a 2 out single
-
Marwin steals second with no throw.
-
Marwin begs to differ.
He had a different angle.
-
Feldman still pitching in the 8th
Brandon Drury struck out swinging.
Chris Herrmann grounded out, first to pitcher.
Chris Owings struck out swinging.
End of 8, 8-3 Astros
-
Feldman batting for himself in the 9th with one out.
-
Feldman strikes out, then Valbuena did, leaving Correa, who had walked before Gattis' infield pop up out, on first.
-
Tomas leads off the bottom of the 9th with a single.
Weeks to first on a fielding error by Jose Altuve.
Segura doubles in the RF gap, both runners score.
8-5
-
Gregerson now in...save situation.
-
Now a save situation. Pitching change.
-
Gregerson! Strikes out the side to end it.
-
Sweet!!! 7 out of the last 8.
-
17-12 in the month of May. That's a 94 win-pace. Not bad, but given the overall record of 24-29 it puts into perspective just how bad April was for the good guys. Hopefully they can dig out of that hole by the end of June. Another 17-12 would get them to .500 on the year.
