whoa, White in front of Rasmus? Trying to add protection for White or baserunners for Rasmus? Probably just due to Hamels being a lefty but still interesting

Rasmus has taken Hamels deep. Gattis twice has.
-
First two Astros hit by pitch...two on, nobody out...
-
T1:
Altuve hit by pitch
Springer...full count...hit by pitch
Correa...2-0...swings at a ball in the dirt...2-1...swings at a ball in the dirt 2-2...swings and miss.. at a ball at his ankles...sees five pitches, none of them strikes, but punches out
White strikes out looking, double steal, Springer thrown out 2-4
Thud
0-0
-
Since being named player of the week, White is 4 for 25 with 2 RBI and 12 strikeouts.
-
Ashby has willed Fielder out of his slow start these last two games.

B1:
Deshields chops out 5-3
Mazara lines out F9
Fielder singles to RCF
Beltre...quickly 0-2...pops out F4
No score after one.
-
A couple of singles...Astros have two on with no outs again
-
Bases drunk with nobody out for Marwin...
-
And the class clown gets on base on a bunt. Sacks full.
-
GoGo?
-
Fuck me.
-
Are you fucking kidding me
-
Fuck me.
This team would fuck up a wet dream.
-
Wow. How can a Major League player be that stupid.
-
Is Carlos Gomez the stupidest player ever?
-
T2:
Rasmus...looks at two strikes...0-2...lines a single into RCF (of course, the third out last inning was made on the bases w/RISP)
Gattis singles up the middle, Rasmus to 2B
Gomez bunt single, Rasmus to 3B, Gattis to 2B
Marwin...2-0...swings and misses at a ball 4 feet off the plate...2-1...3-1...flies out F9...Rasmus holds, but Gomez does not...Gomez in a pickle...Rasmus now has no choice...takes off for home and is 9-2-4-2, Gattis moves to 3B and Gomez to 2B
Castro with a slow roller to 3B out 5-3
Incredible....three hits, no runs and one really, really, really, really, really, really stupid baserunning move.
-
I honestly would be happy if we cut Gomez tonight. Literally or figuratively.

this team needs a Bagwell/Biggio to chew ass.
-
Honestly, I still can't tell exactly what the fuck happened.
-

Luhnow traded a bunch of guys for Carlos Gomez, then everything went to shit.
-
Odor with a monster HR...2-0 Rangers
-
Luhnow traded a bunch of guys for Carlos Gomez, then everything went to shit.
Not to pile on Gomez, but I've never liked having him on this team...from they day he arrived.
-
B2:
Moreland grounds into the shift, 6-3
Desmond...wearing some good looking stirrups...full count...walks on a close pitch
Desmond to 2B on a wild pitch
Odor hammers one into the upper deck in RF, Desmond scores
Andrus ground out 5-3
Holoday flies out F7
2-0 Rangers
-
Another typical game against the fucking Rangers. It's like some sort of Bermuda Triangle.
-
T3:
Altuve singles to LF, tries to stretch it to a double, thrown out 7-4
Springer flies out F9 on the first pitch
Correa flies out F9
Quick 5 pitch inning for Hammels
2-0 Rangers
-
this team needs a Bagwell/Biggio to chew ass.
Clearly AJ ain't gonna do it.
-
Since the first week, Correa is 3 for 26 with 1 RBI
-

Living up here I've been reading in the paper all week stories about how the Astros are really overrated and over-hyped.
But I did not realize the team was sub -.500 since the 18-7 start last year.
-
Clearly AJ ain't gonna do it.
Exactly.
-
B3:
Deshields grounds out 4-3
Mazara grounds out 6-3
Fielder grounds out 6-3

They treaded water to stay in the race last year. But right now, this is a 110 loss team.
-
Clearly AJ ain't gonna do it.
You don't chew out Major Leaguers anymore. This isn't the 1920s.
-
T4:
White strikes out swinging
Rasmus pops out F6
Gattis strikes out looking
2-0 Rangers
-
B4:
Beltre grounds out 5-3 on the first pitch
Moreland doubles off the LF wall
Desmond grounds out 4-3, Moreland to 3B
Odor grounds out 1-3
2-0 Rangers
-

I think 110 losses is overstating it, but 90 losses seems frighteningly possible.
-

If they lose tonight, they'll be 5-10. That's pace for 54-108.
-
T5:
Gomez strikes out on three pitches, spinning himself into the ground
Marwin taps one up the 1B line, Hamels fields it then spikes it into the ground, the ball rolls into RF, Marwin moves to 2B on the TE1...Banister out arguing...because he's a massive dickhead
Castro grounds out 3U on the firs pitch, Marwin to 3B
Altuve walks
Springer...full count...strikes out swinging, screwing himself into the ground.
Still 0 forever w/RISP...
2-0 Rangers
-
Springer is becoming a Gomez protégé.
-
Guys, I did NOT see myself hating this team by the end of April.

Which is why they need a veteran or two in 'house to say "that's not the way we do it around here".
-
Which is why they need a veteran or two in 'house to say "that's not the way we do it around here".
Agreed. Instead they have Carlos Gomez.
-
Castro and Fister cannot get on the same page.
-

I've wondered if, once his kids are all out of college, Biggio wouldn't be interested in a bench coaching gig.
-
B5:
Andrus...full count...doubles to RCF...Springer does a nice job of cutting it off to keep it a double
Holaday...trying to bunt...can't get a strike...now full count...flies out F7
Deshields grounds out 5-3, Andrus has to hold at 2B
Mazara strikes out looking
2-0 through five
-
Two beautiful pitches by Fister. Of course Mazara is SHOCKED as any well oiled stRanger rookie should be.
-
If these fuckers hit somebody on the hand I'm going to be pretty pissed.
-
White!!!
Solo tater cuts the lead in half
-
Wow! Something good happened!
-
T6:
Correa...quickly 0-2...rolls one to 3B...5-3
White homers to LCF
Rasmus...0-2...works the count full...fouls off several pitches, works a walk. Good at bat
Gattis reaches 9 feet outside and rolls a soft grounder for a 5-4-3 double play on the fist pitch
But...Astros cut the lead to 2-1
-
I'd forgotten how utterly impatient Gattis is, and will swing at anything. I don't like being reminded.
-
Quite a grab by Springer there.
-
B6:
Fielder flies out F9...Springer with a spectacular diving catch in the gap!
Beltre singles up the middle
Moreland walks, Beltre to 2B
Hinch out...gonna leave Fister in...
Desmond lines out F9 on another nice play by Springer
Odor lines out F7
2-1 Rangers
-
Surprised they aren't pinch hitting for Castro here
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
-
Fucking Castro. They have to let these guys swing at these 3-0 meatballs.
-
Astros with runners on the corners with two out...Hamels out, Dyson in...
-
I would say that Castro is fucking worthless, but that would imply that his value is zero, and ignore how he actively harms the team.

Fucking Castro. They have to let these guys swing at these 3-0 meatballs.
Castro's not gonna hit it. Hamels threw him one strike and he still punched out.
-
T7:
Gomez walks on four pitches
Marwin grounds out 4-3, Gomez to 2B
Gomez steals 3B
Castro...3-0...3-1 on a belt high meatball...3-2 on ball four...punches out on ball five
Altuve...quickly 0-2...hit by pitch again
That's all for Hamels...Dyson in
Altuve steals 2B
Springer taps back to the mound...1-3
2-1
-
Astros now 0 for 8 w/RISP and 17 LOB this game.
-
That was certainly representative of key causes of the team's woes.

-
Hate to say it but here comes the two run inning after soiling the sheets in the top half.
-
B7:
Harris in...
Andrus grounds to 3B, Marwin kicks it...E5
Holaday strikes out swinging
Deshields strikes out swinging
That's all for Harris, Sipp in...
Mazara...works the count full...strikes out swinging
2-1 Rangers still
-
Time for a comeback. Before this forum goes on suicide watch
-
Correa seems to have lost all plate discipline.
-

Wow.... George Springer's catch: first step in 0.37 seconds, 98% route efficiency, distance covered 80 feet, max speed 19.1 MPH

Correa leads off the 8th with a double...tying run in scoring position, nobody out...

All I know is he got a great jump and got there in a hurry.
-
T8:
Correa doubles off the RCF wall
White grounds out softly 5-3 on the first pitch...terrible at bat
That's it for Dyson, Diekman in
Rasmus...quickly down 0-2...works it full...strikes out looking
Gattis strikes out looking
Ugh.
2-1
-
Astros now 0 for 11 w/RISP this game, 3 for their last 33.
Oops...forgot about Gomez's bunt single. They're 1 for 12 this game, 4 for their last 34
-
All I know is he got a great jump and got there in a hurry.
Basically, it was no Edmonds diving catch
-
This team has to be some sort of cosmic test for its fans.
-
Woof this team is absolutely snakebit right now
-
Wow.
-
White dropped a pop-up? Of course he did. And Beltre will probably jack one now.
-
Jeez, someone get a live rooster

This strikezone has been horseshit
-
The last inning has taken over an hour to play.
-
The last inning has taken over an hour to play.
Welcome to hell.
-
After the error, Rangers have bases juiced, nobody out...
-
Welcome to hell.
I thought I was in hell once. Turns out I was in Nebraska.
-
Turns out, Billy Wagner owes his career to Alan Ashby.
-
Don't back off now still one out to go
-
Turns out, Billy Wagner owes his career to Alan Ashby.
He can also smell the ball off the bat just like Teddy Baseball.
-
Wow, Giles.
-
Don't back off now still one out to go
atta boy
-
B8:
Giles in...
Fielder ...0-2...hits a routine popup to 1B, White camped under it...and it clanks out of his glove...E3
Alberto in to pinch run for the Fat Kid
Beltre...0-2...doubles over Marwin's head, Alberto to 3B
Moreland...infield in...full count...walks
Desmond flies out F9, runners hold...notice how the runner at 1B didn't go when the runner at 3B didn't?
Odor...3-1...3-2...flies out to shallow LF, runners have to hold
Andrus...0-2...strikes out swinging at a pitch in the dirt, Castro steps on the plate to force Alberto
Tremendous job by Giles
To the 9th...Astros chasing a run
-
Nice recovery by Giles.
-
Well, that was unexpected. After the Beltre hit, I was sure they would crater.
-
Liking Giles, early struggles notwithstanding. Way to battle back from the little league error.
-
Well, that was unexpected. After the Beltre hit, I was sure they would crater.
Now don't waste it.
-
If Giles is recovering then replacing Fields is about all there is to do with the bullpen.
-
This right here is when you announce that this is a team. Come on fellas.
-
Gomez is completely overmatched by Big League pitching
-
Did something happen to Gomez?
-
Gomez is completely overmatched by Big League pitching
It's hard to imagine he once had decent full seasons.
-
Did something happen to Gomez?
No
-
When Luis Valbuena is your best pinch hitting option, you're in world of shit.
-
Did something happen to Gomez?
Right words. Wrong order.
-
When Luis Valbuena is your best pinch hitting option, you're in world of shit.
Big world, deep shit.
-
Valbuena turns the lineup over with a seeing eye single...tying run on base
-
C'mon Altuve! (I fully expect Valbuena to be picked off)
-
Still think the strikezone is horseshit.
-
Rub some dirt on it. Plenty of season left. Go get em tomorrow. Fuck.
-
T9:
Tolleson in...
Gomez grounds out 3-1
Tucker, pinch hitting for Marwin...pops out F6
Valbuena, pinch hitting for Castro...singles past the shift to LF
Marisnick in to pinch run for Valbuena
Altuve flies out F9
Game over
Astros gag on their own dicks...again.
-
Son of a bitch, I hate the Rangers.
-
At least it's Keuchel tomorrow.
-
Thanks for the PBP, HH.
-
So many chances.
-
At least it's Keuchel tomorrow.
Pitching was great tonight. That wasn't the problem. You're not going to win many games making so many mistakes, losing a whole inning being slapdicks on the bases, and going 1 for 12 w/RISP (the one being a bunt single) and 21 LOB.
-
Thanks for the PBP, HH.
Maybe I'm the problem. Have they won when I was doing it?
-
Great pitching, but a complete shitshow of an offense. The base running and mental errors are even worse.
73-77 since last May 5th.
-
When Luis Valbuena is your best pinch hitting option, you're in world of shit.
Well, technically they used their best pinch-hitter earlier when Tucker came up. (Actually, they used their *best* pinch-hitter when they started Gonzalez at 3B.) But your point is still valid.
-
We need Mark!!!
