I am pulling for the Blue Jays, but I expect the Royals to win. I still pissed at them and still trying to get over Wednesday, and I think they are a bit red-assed, but I haven't developed a deep hatred for them yet, so I will pull for them in the WS. I've never rooted for an AL team in the WS before this year and I can't blame that on Bud I just could never pull for the Cubs or Mets. But FYB anyway. And FTC

No score after 2 innings.
-
Royals take a 2 to nothing lead after three.
-
I'll pull for KC.
I use that term loosely.
What was Bautista worked up about in the dugout? At a restaurant so no sound.

Being called out on a pitch that was a few inches off the plate.
-
Volquez is due to give up a homer.
-
The umpire is not very consistent with the zone.

Sweet double play ends the 6th with the Royals leading 3 - 0.

I wanted to see a super slo mo at 1B. That was awfully close.
-
Herrera is awesome, retires the side in the top of the sixth. Six outs left for the Royals bullpen. This game is over.
-
Tom Verducci would sound better if he would take the Yankee cock out of his mouth.
-
Rooting for KC all the way. I admire their style of play.

You better be leading after six against those guys.
-
Perez is a tough son of a bitch.
-
If Josh Fields were in the Royals' pen, he'd be the soft tosser.

Amen, brother. You know it hurt like hell every time he caught one of those 1000 mph fastballs.

Herrera threw 9 pitches in the 7th: 8 srikes and a popup.
If you cannot stay ahead of the Royals, game over in the 7th. Reminiscent of Lidge to Dotel to Wagner.

I want KC to win but I admit, it was tough shifting gears from full-on hate.
-
I gotta go with KC. IT would be neat to think we almost beat the team in the WS.

I miss those days sometimes

I wish they'd shut the fuck up about Tulowitzki's glove.
-
Price had been brilliant through six but now here come the Royals.
-
Nobody is gonna knock this royals team out. They just battle and battle and battle. They are incredible.
-
Once again, absolutely incredible at bats by the Royals. None of the remaining teams look half as locked in as they do right now.
-
That's the Cueto that I was hoping the Astros would see.

Game 6: Umps go to replay and still get the HR call wrong. Wow.
-
Wow, what a great catch by Revere!

Price has pitched his ass off. He deserved better than this.

I can't remember who's doing color; Darling, maybe? I thought his observation that Price abandoned his changeup after the first inning was good, and actually helpful for casual viewers.
-
If I were a KC fan, I'd be just a little uncomfortable with Madson coming in.

Or maybe not. So much for being unhittable. Tie game.

Harold Reynolds. Who's actually pretty informative most of the time.

Verducci is in the booth, too.
-
I like Reynolds, but if the observation was insightful, it was probably Verducci. Reynolds saying that you can't fault the defense for Cain scoring on a single. Seriously? Hit the cut off man.

Yeah why aren't people talking about Bautista making a dumb decision on that play? Why is he throwing to second? You can't let that run score no matter what, the only reason Cain "scored from second on a single" is because Bautista threw to second.
-
Revere got totally fucked over by that strike 2 call in the 9th. Jays made such a valiant effort and that was a huuuuge call that again went KC's way.

I think JimR called this about a week ago, Perez "frames" strikes because he's a friggin cloud of mass behind the plate. Cain stole the show tonight. That was some exquisite baserunning. Wade Davis also kicked much ass.
I think this will be a fun WS to watch.

I had this same debate by text last night with a friend. Cain was at first, not second, and he was not running on the pitch. The ball was in the corner. Bautista conceded Cain moving from first to third, and he was trying to prevent second and third with no outs in a tie game. Cain and the coach took a daring, risky gamble that paid off, but I do not think Bautista was to blame except by 20-20 hindsight.

Borderline call that was called all night on other hitters. Tough, but he still had a strike left and chased a slider.

If it was about pitch framing, it likely was HH, not me. Agreed re Cain.
I love the way this Royals team plays baseball. They are my second favorite team.

I love the way they play too, but I hate the team even more than I hate the Mariners. Regardless, I hope they kick the Mets ass.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, and it may be that I'm still burned by this from the DS when Cain did this against the stros, but Bautista should know his base runners better. Of course he conceded third because the ball was hit down the line...he made a hell of a play even cutting it off. I mean Bautista was literally on the RF warning track in the corner when he makes the throw. I just think you make 100% sure that run isn't scoring. I'm not even sure he gets Hosmer going for second but Hosmer probably realized Cain was going to score and figured he would not waste another out so he retreated back to first.
When I was watching it live I thought when he was whipping around to throw it was to the second baseman as the cutoff to home, instead the throw goes in on a bounce to Tulo and there's no chance.
I'm not saying Bautista made an epic blunder. Just cutting that ball of was a hell of an effort. But he made the wrong throw (stating the obvious) more than Cain made some incredible play in my opinion.
-
Agreed. Not egregious, but you have to know the situation: tie game, bottom of the eighth, speedy, aggressive runner on first.
The cutoff man definitely knew the situation, he was positioned correctly. Hit him.
-
Cain did that to us because Gomez fell. There were no misplays last night. Great play.
-
I love the way they play too, but I hate the team even more than I hate the Mariners. Regardless, I hope they kick the Mets ass.
Why would you hate them?
-
It was a great play by Cain and the Royals just wear pitchers out with their approach at the plate and on the bases. It's also nice to see a small market team like this have sustained success. Other than them getting pissy about McCullers celebration when he left game 4 and breaking Springer's wrist earlier this year, I enjoy watching them play and feel good for their fans.
And Wade Davis showed the value of having a guy with overpowering stuff in the pen last night. How he wiggled out of that jam in the top of the 9th was impressive. I like converted starters as closers because they usually have a deeper pitch arsenal, making it tougher on hitters to key on one pitch when you only face them once.
-
Why would you hate them?
I only have room in my dark heart to not hate one team.

Now that Servais has betrayed us, I don't think there can be any doubt about who our most-hated enemy is.
