Kazmir had a 6.52 era and a 1.79 whip in 6 September starts and has a career post season 5.20 era and 1.73 whip. He faced KC 3 times this year - 21.1 innings, 12 hits, 5 earned runs, 3 walks while striking out 14 going 1-1.

McCullers in 5 September starts had a 3.19 era and a 1.03 whip. Adding in the figures from his October start does not significantly change the numbers. McCullers had one start against KC in June going 7 innings giving up 4 hits, 1 earned run, 2 walks while striking out 6 and getting the win.

In 13 starts with KC, Cueto has a 4.76 era and a 1.45 whip; an increase of more than 2 runs in era and half a runner in whip over his Cincinnati stats.

I'm in the same bind and my plane only has wifi, not direct tv, so I'll be following here. Hope that I can at least stream radio since I won't be able to get video.

Download the fox sports go app and use your directv log-in. I'm sure a similar process can be done through the fox sports website in the event you aren't using a PDA or tablet, but I've only streamed fox sports on mobile devices.

Yes, in some instances.  If you have cable through specific providers (most primary providers are included), you are supposed to be able to stream the game via Fox Sports Go (http://www.foxsports.com/foxsportsgo/) by logging in and following the instructions.  I make no promises, but it is supoosed to work... Good luck!

Yes he did.  He broke on contact.  Pettis held him up right away and Rasmus just coasted into 3B.  If he's sent, it takes a perfect throw to make it close, and even then they probably don't get him.

Gordon was shallow and got the ball when Rasmus hit the bag. Rasmus was meat with any decent throw.

I've noticed they have different wifi providers across different aircraft. Must have different restrictions.

DirecTV wouldn't have helped you because i don't think they carry the FS1. You'd have been stuck watching the rangers.

Post by: Noe on October 09, 2015, 03:48:30 pm
Just watching Kazmir pitch. Here is what I think (which means absolutely nothing based on watching on TV and of course not being a coach): He's aiming his pitches to try and hit spots instead of throwing nice and easy. Castro is trying to guide him through the batting order, but Kazmir looks a littlle bit like he is trying way too hard to hit the spot. He doesn't seem to finish his follow through all the way, so he's short arming the pitch. That can flatten a pitch.

So hopefully he can trust his stuff and complete his pitch and know he'll be okay. Because at some point, he's going to have to do this to survive for more than four or five innings.

In fairness to Kazmir, he seems to self-talk himself into letting go and he does well. But with the off-speed stuff, he looks like he's short arming to keep the ball down or away from the happy zone for the hitters. This may be his plan of attack... trusting his hard stuff and making sure to aim his off-speed down so even if the Royals hit it, it will stay in the park. Just a layman's view and opinion on that one. Fingers crossed he will keep it going well for the rest of his tenure on the hill.

Not sure that Lollygagging is the right word, just an average Carter play.  He is not that great at fielding position, pretty sure this conversation has been a few time before.

A fine example of framing by Castro on those last two fastballs. Soft hands, no jerky movement of the glove... let the ball come into the glove and softly move the glove towards the body with only the slightess movement towards the middle of the body. Excellent work.

No, he was not there.

I thought he would've gotten the out if he'dve thrown the ball harder than a lob. Altuve had arrived and was set at the bag by the time the lob got there. A good lead toss takes him to the bag quicker.

Against a team like the Royals that thrives on playing small ball and situational hitting, playing the shift against some of their hitters may not be the best idea, but I haven't run the numbers yet.

Because the throw bounced and took the glove into him. If it is a normal pickoff throw, he is safe. The talking heads said that immediately. It was not a reckless lead. Shit happens, people. Bad luck there and in the 6th, and we let Cueto settle in.
