Kazmir had a 6.52 era and a 1.79 whip in 6 September starts and has a career post season 5.20 era and 1.73 whip. He faced KC 3 times this year - 21.1 innings, 12 hits, 5 earned runs, 3 walks while striking out 14 going 1-1.
McCullers in 5 September starts had a 3.19 era and a 1.03 whip. Adding in the figures from his October start does not significantly change the numbers. McCullers had one start against KC in June going 7 innings giving up 4 hits, 1 earned run, 2 walks while striking out 6 and getting the win.
-
McCullers announced as Game 4 starter (if necessary)
-
In 13 starts with KC, Cueto has a 4.76 era and a 1.45 whip; an increase of more than 2 runs in era and half a runner in whip over his Cincinnati stats.

Download the fox sports go app and use your directv log-in. I'm sure a similar process can be done through the fox sports website in the event you aren't using a PDA or tablet, but I've only streamed fox sports on mobile devices.

@McCulloughStar: Johnny Cueto got to Kauffman Stadium about two hours before first pitch. If he pitches well, no one will care. #Narrative

Yes. FS1 is one of the channels DirecTV steams via their website or mobile app.

Yes, in some instances. If you have cable through specific providers (most primary providers are included), you are supposed to be able to stream the game via Fox Sports Go (http://www.foxsports.com/foxsportsgo/) by logging in and following the instructions. I make no promises, but it is supoosed to work... Good luck!

It works just fine. Downside is you have to listen to Pete Rose on the pregame.

RBI-double for Rasmus...1-0 Astros
-
Rasmus!!! 2 out rbi double
-
Boy, that stadium got quiet.
-
T1:
Altuve pops the first pitch to shallow CF
Springer...quickly down 0-2...now works the count full...walks
Correa strikes out looking
Rasmus doubles to RF, Springer scores
Gattis singles to LF, Rasmus holds at 3B...shoulda scored
Valbuena strikes out swinging
1-0 Astros
-
No reason to hold up Rasmus on Gattis's single. Pettis cost them a run there.
-
Second guessing is easy. Petit should have sent Rasmus.
-
No reason to hold up Rasmus on Gattis's single. Pettis cost them a run there.
I'm shocked he held him up. He's been so aggressive all year
-
Rasmus did not break right away. If the Royals execute, he's a dead duck. Still I am surprised Pettis didn't send him.
-

Yes he did. He broke on contact. Pettis held him up right away and Rasmus just coasted into 3B. If he's sent, it takes a perfect throw to make it close, and even then they probably don't get him.
-
B1:
Escobar pops out F3
Zobrist singles to RF
Cain flies out F7
Hosmer pops out F5
After one...1-0 Astros

Gordon was shallow and got the ball when Rasmus hit the bag. Rasmus was meat with any decent throw.

Because Rasmus jogged into 3B. If he's running, he scores.

That bunt was a thing of beauty. And good hustle by Carter to get to third.
-
Springer swinging on 3-0. It was a strike.
Big bloop hit!
-
Springer!!
-
Springer with a 2-run single
-
Springer got JUST enough on that one 3-0

He's had trouble getting into third lately.

I can't remember the last time the Astros were the beneficiary of a bloop like that. Plenty fell in against them in September. That felt good!

T2:
Carter with a broken bat flair single to LF
Castro...full count...walks, Carter to 2B
Marisnick bunts, third baseman fields it, looks back to 3B, nobody there, goes to 1B and Marisnick beats it, Castro to 2B, Carter to 3B...scored a single
Altuve...quickly down 0-2...shallow fly to RF, runners have to hold
Springer...3-0...3-1...doinks a single over SS...Carter scores, Castro scores, Marisnick to 2B
Correa grounds into 5-4-3 double play
3-0 Astros

Correa scuffling a bit

The Royals dodged a bullet there.

Why no review at 2b there? Didn't look like he ever held the ball. Was juggling it as he came across the bag.

I've noticed they have different wifi providers across different aircraft. Must have different restrictions.
DirecTV wouldn't have helped you because i don't think they carry the FS1. You'd have been stuck watching the rangers.

Seems to me that it will be good to have McCullers available for Game 4 Monday at home.
-
Correa scuffling a bit
He ripped that ball just foul to RF, and hit the DP ball on the screws. I think he'll be ok.
-
Double and Carter's lollygagging have Royals on the corner with nobody out.
-
Just watching Kazmir pitch. Here is what I think (which means absolutely nothing based on watching on TV and of course not being a coach): He's aiming his pitches to try and hit spots instead of throwing nice and easy. Castro is trying to guide him through the batting order, but Kazmir looks a littlle bit like he is trying way too hard to hit the spot. He doesn't seem to finish his follow through all the way, so he's short arming the pitch. That can flatten a pitch.
So hopefully he can trust his stuff and complete his pitch and know he'll be okay. Because at some point, he's going to have to do this to survive for more than four or five innings.
-
Or finish some of those tattoos.
Colby thinks the unfinished nature of his tattoos is symbolic and represents everything in his life other than the 2005 Alabama 5A baseball state championship.

B3:
Rios doubles to RCF
Escobar bunts, right at Carter...fields it, takes his time, smokes a cigarette, has a cup of coffee and a sandwich...lobs the ball to Altuve, called out...gonna challenge...gonna get overturned...yep, runners on the corner
Zobrist...full count...grounds into 5-4-3 double play, Rios scores
Cain flies out F9 in foul ground
Royals get a run, but nice job getting the twin killing to limit the damage. A third through....4-2 Astros
-
Somebody get on base for Rasmus.
-
In fairness to Kazmir, he seems to self-talk himself into letting go and he does well. But with the off-speed stuff, he looks like he's short arming to keep the ball down or away from the happy zone for the hitters. This may be his plan of attack... trusting his hard stuff and making sure to aim his off-speed down so even if the Royals hit it, it will stay in the park. Just a layman's view and opinion on that one. Fingers crossed he will keep it going well for the rest of his tenure on the hill.
-
Hope that we're not going to regret the runs that we've lollygagged away and/or lollygagged to the Royals.
-
T4:
Castro grounds out 4-3
Marisnick strikes out swinging
Altuve flies out F8 on the first pitch
Quick inning for Cueto
4-2 Astros

Double and Carter's lollygagging have Royals on the corner with nobody out.
Lollygagging? I must be watching a different game.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, and most likely I am. But part of the issue on that play with Carter was the time it took Altuve to get to the bag. Altuve was hustling over.
-
B4:
Hosmer grounds out 4-3
Morales strikes out swinging
Moustakas flies out F7
4-2 Astros

Altuve was there, Carter can't lob that ball.
-
Correa's flirted with the right field foul pole twice now. Then.....ouch. How the hell do you hit a ball off your BACK knee?

Rangers and the 'Eh' team going into the 14th.
A bit of tension in the 13th, Kela is a dickhead.

He did not exactly charge that ball hard and make a crisp throw, from my recollection.
-

Not sure that Lollygagging is the right word, just an average Carter play. He is not that great at fielding position, pretty sure this conversation has been a few time before.

Kazmir getting tired, starting to nibble, falling behind...likely to be his last inning
If he's done, he done good.
-
Kazmir gave them what they needed.
-
A fine example of framing by Castro on those last two fastballs. Soft hands, no jerky movement of the glove... let the ball come into the glove and softly move the glove towards the body with only the slightess movement towards the middle of the body. Excellent work.
-
Altuve was there, Carter can't lob that ball.
No, he was not there.
-
Shadows to be a factor for the remainder of the game maybe. Good to have a lead.
-
No, he was not there.
I thought he would've gotten the out if he'dve thrown the ball harder than a lob. Altuve had arrived and was set at the bag by the time the lob got there. A good lead toss takes him to the bag quicker.

T6:
Valbuena...full count...singles to RF

Cain...quickly 0-2...doubles down RF line
Hinch out...Kazmir out, Perez in
Hosmer...down 0-2...pokes the pitch into LCF, Cain scores
Morales...shift on...rolls a tailor made double play ball to 2B, but no one is there... into RF, Hosmer to 3B
Moustakas...3-0...walks, Morales to 2B
That's it for Perez, Fields in
Perez...3-0...walks, Hosmer scores to tie the game
Gordon...0-2...1-2...strikes out swinging
Rios strikes out swinging
But Royals tie it up 4-4

That could have been worse...

You never know how somebody will react to their first playoff game. Just glad he was able to recover
-
May have to throw a strike first.
Whatever he was told by the pitching coach settled him down. May have been "If you don't settle down and breathe right, you better keep walking right after we pull you from the game.... that way I don't have to waste my time killing you on the spot."
-
T7:
Herrera on the hill
Altuve grounds out 6-3
Springer strikes out swinging from the heels
Correa singles up the middle
Rasmus...full count...pops out F3
Still tied at 4

It's tough to drop one between those guys. I thought it would hold up just enough for Marisnik to get there.

Both of them were extremely shallow
-
Double, error and the shift...Royals take the lead

Now their bullpen is a factor. Hosmer's lucky hit and Kazmir's too fat 0-2 to Cain turned this around. It is pointless to curse the shift because we are going to do it.

I often bitch about the pointless. I don't mind the shift on certain hitters, but not every single fucking one. No shift, and the Astros are taking a 2-run lead into the 8th.

One run lead. Hosmer's hit made it 4-3. Agreed that Morales hit a DP ball.

Against a team like the Royals that thrives on playing small ball and situational hitting, playing the shift against some of their hitters may not be the best idea, but I haven't run the numbers yet.

B7:
Harris in
Escobar doubles to RCF on the first pitch, Marisnick kicks it and Escobar goes to 3B
Zobrist hits one to SS, but imagine that, the shift fucks the Astros...Escobar scores

Hosmer flies out F7
Harris out, Sipp in
Morales grounds out 5-3

Between walking in the tying run and getting the potential tying run picked off in the ninth, with an AL batting champ at the plate no less, that was a craptastic final 4 innings.

Me too. However, getting picked off before the guy even throws a pitch might be a little bit further on the really-fucking-stupid chart than the be-aggressive chart.

Pretty sure he singled earlier in the game.

Yeah, unless you're planning on running on the first pitch, you at least try to time him. Not sure if Gomez was running on the first pitch or not, but Altuve's not exactly one who's gonna work the count.

To me the 4 pitch game tying walk was the punch in the nuts. Oh well, Astros split in KC! Cant wait to see Kuechel pitch a playoff game at home!

Lowrie hasn't had a good one in quite a while.

I find myself thinking about that would be rasmus run in the first. Not the reason they lost obviously but an extra run would have been helpful.

To me, the underrated play was Correa's DP in the 2nd. Removed the chance to really blow the game open.

Because the throw bounced and took the glove into him. If it is a normal pickoff throw, he is safe. The talking heads said that immediately. It was not a reckless lead. Shit happens, people. Bad luck there and in the 6th, and we let Cueto settle in.
