If Gomez is 100% I like it.
-
You knew they'd get Young in there.
-
You knew they'd get Young in there.
I guess we should be thankful the game's not in Houston. Young would be guaranteed to have 4 hits and 5 RBI all by himself, and I'm not sure the Astros will be able to score 5 runs in this game.

That's the spirit.

Kruk is already splooging over the Yankees..."this is a team that nobody thought could get here..."
Of course not, why would anyone expect a $1B payroll team make the playoffs?

Happy Playoff Baseball!

Kruk can eat a bag.

That superimposed strike zone is kind of a nuisance.
-
T1:
Altuve...full count...strikes out swinging at a curve ball off the plate...threw him one strike in the 7 pitches
Springer strikes out swinging at a curve ball off the plate.
Correa flies out F8
No score.
-
That superimposed strike zone is kind of a nuisance.
It appears to be getting in the hitters' way too. They're lost on that curveball.

Astros with the bases juiced with two out for Altuve...

Excellent inning to start it off.. coming back into the heart of the order with Tanaka rattled. Me likey

I scheduled a conference call for 11:00, thinking four hours should be sufficient. But with Tanaka and ESPN, no fucking way this gets done before midnight.

Why isn't this homer broadcast team talking about Tanaka's pitch count?

Someone should tell this ditz...it's "see the ball hit the ball".

He's a Yankee. He can pitch all night and start game 1 of the next round

Dang Correa really needed to advance Springer there. That's a run lost right there
-
T3:
Springer doubles over CFer's head
Correa grounds out 5-3, Springer has to hold
Rasmus flies out F7
Gattis...quickly down 0-2...rolls one to 3B, baredhanded grab and gets him 5-3 on a nice play

I used to shop at PC Richard and Son. In fact, I got a window fan from them. It was pretty fancy. It had an intake fan and an outtake fan so you could circulate the air. The icing on this season just keep getting deeper and sweeter.
-
Dang that was satisfying.
-
Up yours Yankees!
Bring on KC!!!
-
Props to the bullpen for three scoreless innings.
-
Yippie!
-
Great rainbow gut!
-
What the ESPN talking heads don't understand is the Astros have Carlos Correa. He wins wherever he goes.
-
this isn't unalloyed joy. It means more Frito pie.
-
What a Game! This is great.

Just like April.
-
Might need to find a way to get to KC.
-
Gregerson was fantastic there. I don't think I've seen him sharper.
-
We needed that more than the New Yorkers and we deserved it more than the New Yorkers and we got that because we support the better team.
-
I'm headed to NY on Thursday. Guess I'll have to take my Astros cap and wear it everywhere to make friends.
-
Fuck that they're assholes

Might? Find a way to get there. Nothing better than postseason baseball.
-
Gregerson was fantastic there. I don't think I've seen him sharper.
Everything about him screams "slop throwing righty" until he laser guides pitch after pitch exactly where he wants 'em.

He was outstanding.

I'm going out to buy an orange jersey.

Alex Rodriguez: 0-4 in his final game at the hands of the Houston Astros.
That's some mighty sweet icing there.

He looked like he went into the game thinking his team wouldnt do anything against Keuchel.

Well, they've faced Keuchel twice before this:
7 3 0 0 0 9 0
9 6 0 0 1 12 0
and now you can add
6 3 0 0 1 7 0
That's 22 inning 12 hits 1 walk, 28 strikeouts and 0 runs
-
So proud of and happy for this team!
-
Congrats on the win!

It is amusing that you swear in front of the baby but not here.
-
I'm really happy for the guys like Keuchel, Altuve, and Castro who lived through the truly awful seasons. I hope this makes up for that, at least a little bit.

When you go in thinking you're going to get beat, you get beat.

All hail Jeff Luhnow. Amazing roster construction and faith in the players.

Congrats on the win!

It couldn't handle you not being around.

The little bearded man on ESPN is attributing the Yankees loss to the CC Sabathia announcement.

They all have their reasons.

Not working downtown on Thursday solely so that I have greater Frito Pie flexibility. Will be in galleria area and can travel for lunch.

+1000!
-
Hey now. At my worst I'm a lot prettier than Kruk.
This summer I got to talk to a guy for a while who played with Kruk a couple of years on the Phillies. He told me that on more than one occasion he walked in on him in the locker room shirtless. Eating a hot dog. Reclined. Ketchup on his gut. Dipping that hot dog on the ketchup.
-
overfreakingjoyed.

No doubt. Haven't seen hide nor hair of him lately, which is sort of weird, but a big fucking congrats to him, all of the front office and Crane. Must be real sweet for them.

Life is good.

I saw a brief comment from him in the video from the celebrations after the last game of the regular season.
I think I saw something 2-3 weeks ago from him saying he was going to maintain media silence while the season wound down.
Congratulations to them for sure!
-
That was epic. At Yank-me stadium and we sent em' home! The Astro crowd that hung around after the win was pretty damn big and enthusiastic. I ran in to quite a few good conversations with Yankee fans, and generally had a good time talking baseball with them.
It's been 10 years(!) folks! Think about what your cell phones looked like back then!

It McHugh proud to be an astros fan
