With Rasmus at the plate, Altuve thrown out trying to steal 2B.

Well HH, you really have to wonder what the umpire is thinking when he calls a strike like that.
-
McHugh hasn't thrown a lot of curves tonight, but those were very nice.
-
T2:
Loney grounds out 4-3
Forsythe grounds out 6-3 on a slow roller...Correa made a nice play charging and throwing on the run

It's intriguing that's for sure.

Archer looks like the snare drum player in a high school marching band.

Rasmus, who was at the plate when Altuve was caught stealing, grounds out 4-3
Gomez grounds out 5-3
Gattis strikes out looking

Let PitchTracker do it. Then Ashby would know it is a correct call.

Tonight I'm good with that.

Where's Julia.
I think he is covering the Texans.

Dammit, my tv feed is slow. I knew they got a run before I saw it on tv.
-
that last out was interesting.

no need to do pbp of the astros at-bats since they are being no hit through 4.
-
question: will the Astros set the record for most times a team is no hit in a 4 game period?

I'll do the half inning.
Chris Archer gets three more outs. Altus, Marwin, and Correa. Archer still looks like a high school band member, but I think I'm moving him up to the bass clarinet.
-
woo-hoo no-hitter gone!!!
i think gomez ends the shut-out too.
-
that tampa cf has a nice arm.
and i was hoping the good vibes would work for gomez. they didn't

It's about time for the pitching staff to bust some furniture in Club Astros.

How can Ashby not know what the upcoming rotation is? He seems so surprised. He seems to incredibly unprepared.
-
Cabrera, Cabrera'd.
-
nice catch by the ball boy.
-
Tucker makes a nice play and ashby still finds a way to be a negative nancy.

Especially when he keeps harping on the same damn thing. Yes Ashby, we know you don't like them bare-handing the ball. We know that if ONE FUCKING SEAM hits your damn strike zone, then it's a strike!!! Where's my ice pick so I can jam it in my eye???

Not to be pedantic, but the pick will probably do more good if you jam it in your ear.

I'm not looking to kill myself. I just want to cause enough pain to forget Ashby's rantings.
-
Then just take off your shoe and kick the wall.
-
Sad that I'm starting to expect Carlos to make plays like that, and then be disappointed when he doesn't. I ask to much of him.

Good call

Been giving Archer extra room all night, which sucks mightily considering the kid's stuff is filthy and he doesn't need the help...

Make sure someone checked Ashby's trunk if not.

I knew in the first inning that Colin would need a great game to compete. He sure had it. Just that one freaking run.
-
Sipp hasn't allowed a run since July 5? That's pretty good.
Rays leave two on base in the top of the 8th. We're going to the bottom of the 8th with Tampa leading 1-0.
-
Great job by Sipp to get out of the jam and keep it close. Let's get some runs!!!
-
Julia just bought a new house and is getting married soon, according to her Twitter account.
Sipp with a couple of cool strikeouts.

You think that would stop Ashby?

Just two runs and three outs.
-

I had heard she had checked herself into a Witness Protection Program.
-
It's time for CarGo to be Clutch.
-
I wish that Gomez to the Mets deal had worked out.

Not much to be said. Astros pitching has been brilliant. Archer has been more brillianter. It's going to be a long weekend.
-
Castro is brilliant.
-
That was a perfect throw by Castro. Can't be done any better.
-
Castro is brilliant.
Conger thinks Castro'd've been better off to've bounced that one in...

This offense is just what the doctor ordered for opposing pitchers.

One bloop and one blast, please.

One bloop and one blast, please.
It's not April.
-
the only good thing about that game was the time it took. in regard to the offense. pitching did a pretty dang good job.
-
That was humbling.
-
Kudos to Archer. He still looks like a high school oboe player.
-
Saturday and Sunday are going to be incredibly ugly.
-
Hitting is an issue, but they just ran into a buzz saw tonight. Archer was magnificent. It happens. Go get em tomorrow.
-

Those Dodgers can be hit. I'll say an extra prayer for the Astros.

I wish that Gomez to the Mets deal had worked out.
I absolutely hate this snarkiness.

i don't like him beating the Astros but I like Chris Archer. I guess he's over that rough spell.

It's funny how many guys seem to get over their rough spells when they face the Astros.

Did you mean the first place Astros?
-
Did you mean the first place Astros?
Yeah, but they've been getting some help from parallel performances by the Angels and Rangers. Don't get me wrong, I love what they're doing. But the offense has been pretty awful over the last few weeks.

Doh!
