this is the kind of game that can get this team out of its' funk if they can pull it off.
-
I think Springer likes a little buddy.
-
Not the pitcher I thought they would get healthy on.
-
Astros send 12 men to the plate and score 8 runs in the first, beat the living shit out of King Felix.
That's coming out guns blazing.
-
Anybody know why Altuve came out?

@astros: #Astros 2B Jose Altuve left tonight's game due to discomfort in his right hamstring. #VoteAltuve

T2:
Cruz with a bloop single
Seager flies out F8
Weeks with a chopper to 3B, Valbuena whiffs at it, reaches on E5, Cruz to 2B
Altuve out with hamstring injury
Morrison grounds to 2B on what would be tailor-made DP ball, but with shift on Correa fields it and nobody to cover 2B, goes to 1B for 6-3. Cruz to 3B, weeks to 2B
Zunino strikes out looking.
8-0 Stros
-
I am ok with the shift in certain situations, but runners on 1st and 2nd and less than two outs isn't one of them.
-
His approach is advanced beyond all of his teammates. Hope the old fellas are paying attention.

B2:
Gattis with a 4-pitch walk
Rasmus grounds into 6-5-3 DP (shift on)
Correa homers to RCF
Valbuena grounds out 4-3
9-0 Astros lead
-
Carlos Correa makes me feel all funny inside.
-
I don't know if I'll ever get over my awe of Correa. I can't believe how lucky we seem to be that he is on our team.
-
Carlos Correa makes me feel all funny inside.
I got a semi.
-
Me: so you have to watch everything Correa does
Kris: so he's like the Aaron Franklin of baseball.
Me: Yes. So he just hit his second home run.
Kris: This game?
Me: No, but he's only been up a week.
Kris: So what was he doing the first inning?
-
T3:
Bloomquist strikes out swinging
Jackson pops up to shallow CF...Rasmus calls of Marwin, F8
Trumbo pops out to 1B
Middle of the 3rd...9-0 good guys.
-
I love how Obie is pitching with a 9 run lead. Just pounding the strike zone.
-
Seattle wears soMe ugly socks.
-
Anybody know why Altuve came out?
Hamstring twinge.
-
B3:
Mariners on their third pitcher of the game, Wilhelmsen
Carter pops out to 1B
Castro walks

After three...9-0

Of course they do -- they are some barnacle-crusted MFers

Just got home from work. Turned on TV to see HOU was up by 9 against SEA. Checked Gameday to see who'd done what, and saw that HOU had put up 8 on "F. Hernandez" in 1/3rd of an inning. My first thought was "I didn't know SEA had two pitchers named "F. Hernandez"...

Cano grounds out 4-3
Cruz grounds out 6-3
Seager grounds out 4-3

You gotta get in your seat before the first inning.
-
You gotta get in your seat before the first inning.
You are a hard, hard bastard.
-
This is fun.
-
B4:
Springer strikes out swinging
Gattis takes belt high fastballs right down the center, then swings at a curveball in the dirt for strike three
Rasmus doubles off the LF wall
Correa strikes out swinging to end the inning
After 4...still 9-0
-
You are a hard, hard bastard.
This isn't Dodger Stadium...you snooze you lose.
-
"If this comes down, he's underneath it." Brownie's pretty fine.
-
T5:
Weeks flies out F8
Morrison singles to where the second baseman should be, except for the shift...single
Zunino grounds into 6-4-3 double play...Correa bobbles it a bit, but keeps it right in front of him.
-
B5:
Pitcher number four...Furbush. Which I suppose is better than "Furburger"
Valbuena grounds halfway between 1B and 2B...but there's someone there...a Mariner player...not sure why...4-3
Carter hits one that lands on a large bucket of pumpkins over the LF wall, Evan Gattis scratches Carter's ears like he was a cocker spaniel
Castro grounds out 4-3
Marwin, now from the right side...strikes out swinging
Double digit lead...10-0

Isn't Furbush a little repetitve?
-
Time to bring in qualls.
-
Obie performance has been very encouraging tonight.
-
T6:
Bloomquist with a leadoff walk
Jackson strikes out swinging
Trumbo with a high chopper out in front of the plate, Obie goes to 2B for the 1-6 putout on Bloomquist, but not time to get two...Trumbo reaches on FC
Cano lines an 0-2 pitch past Carter into RF...Trumbo to 3B,
Cruz grounds out 5-3 as Valbuena dives to his backhand to rob Cruz of extra bases...put a blue star next to that one Wrangler!
10-0, middle of the sixth.
-
Obie performance has been very encouraging tonight.
He's got that change of pace working.
-
I've always liked Oberholzer.
-
Blue star for Valbueno.
-
Whoopin! Just checked the score. That was Felix?
-
I guess I vote a few more times for Altuve. It'd be a travesty if that pedestrian jobber from KC beat him.
-
B6:
Tucker squares one up, but right at right fielder...F9
Marisnick, pinch hitting for Springer, pops out F5
Gattis bounces one past the first baseman for a single
Rasmus strikes out looking
After 6...10-0
-
I've kind of tuned out The volume, did they say why Marisnick pinch hit for Springer?
-
I've kind of tuned out The volume, did they say why Marisnick pinch hit for Springer?
Just to give Springer a couple innings off, an early night before the day game tomorrow.
-
Obie's looking pretty good.
-
T7:
Seager grounds out 4-3
Weeks grounds out 5-3
Morrison flies out F7
At the stretch...10-0

Valbuena pops out F6
Carter walks
Castro strikes out swinging
-
Not watching the game, how bably was Altuve limping?
-
Not watching the game, how bably was Altuve limping?
It was kind of a wee limp.
-
Anyone going to the game tomorrow?
-
Anyone going to the game tomorrow?
It's at 3? Are you in town?
-
T8:
Zunino pops out F6
Bloomquist grounds out 1U
Ackley walks
Trumbo strikes out looking
Middle of the 8th...10-0
-
Now pitching for the Seahags, making his lifetime debut on the bump...backup catcher Jesus Sucre
-
Oberholzer is at 108 pitches. He ought to be allowed a shot at a CGSH but with a short leash.
-
B8:
Marwin, now back on the left side, singles to RF
Tucker grounds into 5-4-3 double play
Marisnick grounds out 6-3
So Sucre, who threw nothing but meatballs down the middle, faces the minimum and outduels Felix Hernandez on the night
Headed to the 9th...
-
Rangers win on a 2-out dropped fly ball by the Twins' center fielder.
-
Astros have won four consecutive series against the Sea Whores.
-
Anyone going to the game tomorrow?
I was thinking I might get up and drive in to town for the day game.

-
I'll know for sure by 8am tomorrow morning if I'm going to be able to make it to Houston for the 3:10 game tomorrow.
-
Let me know.
-
I'm not going to make it. I just have too much I have get done today and will not be able to leave in time to make the game.
-
I'm not going to make it. I just have too much I have get done today and will not be able to leave in time to make the game.
Probably for the best for me too.
