I looked at that lineup, saw Tucker was missing, then went up and down it looking for a left fielder 3 times.

Yeah, that's an odd one. What it boils down to is Hinch is choosing Valbuena's LH bat over Tucker's and Rasmus'. Or there's health concerns we don't know about.
-
Valbuena had an 0fer when these guys last met, Tucker went 2-4. Isn't Rasmus sick or something?
-
Rasmus is sick.
-
no GZ?
-
I just started listening, but can keep score a bit.
Orioles 1-0. End of the 1st.
-
Snyder - K looking
Joseph - Carter backhand catch, tosses to Keuchel for the out
Flarety - K looking
Middle of the 2nd. Orioles 1-0.
-
Showalter was ejected between innings. Unclear why.
-
Orioles run in the first was manufactured. Machado beat out an infield single to short. After 2 outs, took off to second just before Keuchel started his motion. And then scored on an opposite field flare by Davis. Keuchel struck out everybody else that inning. has 5 ks through 2
-

Arguing balls and strikes.
-
Carter - K swinging
Valbuena - K looking
Villar - K looking after long at-bat with about 5 foul balls
End of the 2nd. Orioles 1-0.
-

Came out to the my plate and argued balls and strikes. He's right about one thing ..strike zone is enormous.
Astros with 5 strikeouts through two innings, four of them looking.
-
Orioles also with 5 K, like its a contest for whiffs.

Arguing balls and strikes.
If Gameday is correct, Brian Gorman has been rough behind the plate so far. Davis should have been rung up before driving Machado and Pearce got K'd on a couple of pitches pretty far outside the zone.
-
Cabrera with a lead off walk in the third. Keuchel not looking sharp.
-
Single by Jones. Two on, two out.
-
6-3 ends the inning. Conger with some words for ump.
-
Davis GOs. 0-1 after 2 1/2. Keuchel tossing 64 pitches already
-
Conger DONG! 1-1
-
Conger Donger!!!
1-1 now
-
Cabonger.
-
Cabrera - BB
Machado - Pops out to RF
Young - K swinging
Jones - Single to RF, Cabrera to 2nd
Davis - Grounds out
Middle of the 3rd . Orioles 1-0.
-
I'll leave PBP to others. My co-workers won't leave me alone.
Go Conger!
-
Easy 4th for Keuchel. 1-1 Mid 4
-
Radio guys calling a "hustle double" for Carter. Gattis on third. 1 out.
-
Hustle double = he was dangerously close to being out.
-
And that boys and girls is why you hit the cutoff man. Sac fly by Valbueno scores Gattis who had stopped and headed back to third base until he saw the throw into the O's dugout.
2-1 Astros
-

When he slid into 2B, I thought he was going to stop before he reached the bag.

2-1 Astros
Good baserunning by Captain Caveman.

Good baserunning by Captain Caveman.
Villar would've found some way to be out on that play.

Resemblance is uncanny.
-
Ugh. Bad decision by Marwin. Gotta get te lead runner there.
-
And Marwin's boneheaded play leads to a tie ballgame.
-
Shitfuck. Boneheaded plays cost a run and put another RISP.
Tied at 2 now.
-
Springer walks, Altuve with a single down the thirdbase line. runners at corners 0 out
-
Captain Caveman pops up 1 down
-
Apparantly Carter missed a mistake pitch on 1-1 and proceeds to strike out.
-
Carter and Valbuena fail to put it in play and a promising inning goes thud through the heart of the order.
Still 2-2.
-
And Valbuena Ks to end the inning. (after Altuve stole second). Tough not getting a run there. Would have been nice to have Tucker batting after Altuve.
-

92 mph meatball right down the middle.
-
That was painful.
-
So was that! Harris gets a double play ball but broken bat hits him in the leg. Limps off the field.

Julia Morales: "Bat got him in the foot pretty good. Smiled at Hinch as he limped down the steps."
-
Here we go again...
-
Villar holds at 3rd on Conger double, though Pettis was sending him home. No outs.

He would have been out by 60 feet. Pettis is high.
-
Rasmus walks 1 out. Bases loaded.
-
For a good team, we suck.
-
Dammit.
-
Springer K's on long at-bat. Altuve flies out to CF.
-
Oh the pain.
-
Wow. 0 fer 6 with two pop ups and three strike outs with runner at 3B. Thats not getting it done.
-
Adam Jones is killing them. He's responsible for all three Oriole runs.
-
Jesus, Qualls. Just put it on a tee next time.
-
The scoreboard says Jones's HR went 401 feet. My ass.
-
What an infuriating past couple innings. My god.
-
Gattis walks, Carter Ks. Britton coming in for a 5 out save chance.
-
Valbuena doesn't even try when facing a lefty.
-
How many strike outs today?
-
Wow that went bad. Valbuean Ks, Villar Ks and Hinch wastes Tucker as a pinch runner.

Not gonna PH with Tucker at this point. That's a ton of strikes with RISP though.

Correct, not likely with a lefty on the mound
-
13 strike outs and 18 LOBsters. Wow. Just wow.
-
Bah, Orioles get the last game.
-
Bunt?
-
Qualls should no longer be trusted in high leverage innings. His stuff has flattened out.

I agree. rather have Fields out there. But he's a vet, he may figure it out.
-
Still in a bad mood because of this game. This was the same pitching match-up on Memorial Day and we lost by one as well.
<Shakes fist at sky>
-
wasted opportunities.

wasted opportunities.
Exactly. Not sure how you can blame Qualls for the loss. Twice the Astros had a runner at 3B and no outs, and neither time could they put a ball in play to drive him home.
Frustrating loss, but shit happens. They took 3 of 4 in the series. Go get 'em tomorrow.

What annoyed me more was losing 2/3 at home to the ChiSox and Sale did not pitch.

Losing to the non-Sale White Sox leads directly to the Rangers winning the division. Astros need to kick their ass next week and the Blue Jays in between.
