Great: Ashby's back.
-
Great: Ashby's back.
first post after the line-ups and it is pretty much an Ashby sucks post.
I got used to hearing Blum and now he's done. I think he may be done for the season. On the road trip Ash and Blum were talking about Blum going surfing in June.
-
I'm stuck with the audio, because, while I'm a mere 2 states and 300 miles from Baltimore, I'm such a self-entitled degenerate I don't have directV.

I'm surprised you think you're not in the Astros market area.
-
Obie doing well, but other than that, you aren't missing a thing. I wonder if the Astros hit a buck fifty as a team for the first three innings.
Wait, a hit. Tucker with a double.
-
It's a double-tucker! Or a Tucker double. Or something.
-
Not surprisingly, I was wrong about the first inning troubles. Basically, they hit as well the first three innings as the last three innings. 230 ish. I had convinced my self otherwise.
-
Steve Pierce is a former Astro. Somebody better report in former Astros news that he just walked.
-
A beauty by Marwin to save a run, keeping the tying run at the plate. 1-0 O's
-

I heard them say that also. I didn't realize that but I do wonder when and I'm not going to report it.

They seem to have an uncanny ability to space their hits just enough that they don't yield runs. And when they clump them Villar turns baserunners into outs.

Pearce. 2012.
-
For some reason all I am thinking is that Villar is our goat this season.
And the sky views they are showing are beautiful.
Khris Karter just took a swing and missed. Surprise!
-
incredible stop, spin and throw by Marwin.
-
Luis said he was glad May was over and I think he meant it.
-
Man, that's got to hurt.
-
I think Castro is going to have a big bruise. That looked incredibly painful. I do not want Conger as the main catcher right now.
-
Damn, that looked painful. Hope he is OK. Can't have Conger playing regularly.
-
On what basis should that call not be reviewable?
-
What a horrendous call at 2b.

why did Hinch not contest that????????

why did Hinch not contest that????????
apparently he can't, it isn't a reviewable play.
-
On what basis should that call not be reviewable?
Don't know. Seems like it's in the same vein as a trap in the outfield, which as far as I know is reviewable.
-
On what basis should that call not be reviewable?
Sometimes tough to define when the catch is made and transfer is started. That would be my guess. That play is pretty clear but many are not.
-
Specifically excluded as a judgement call.

It was not a "neighborhood" play. Even the Baltimore announcers agree and are perplexed.
-

You and Ashby are on the same wavelength.

are you mad at me??

STOP SENDING RUNNERS WITH NO FUCKING PRAYER TO GET HOME

Man we've got some stupid baserunning decisions this series.
-
Mr. Pettis needs to review the objectives of his job.

The glove never closed on the ball. Maybe Hinch wanted to get Castro out.
...and, omg, Marwin was slow.
-
I wouldn't have sent Marwin, he's not that fast and it wasn't that deep.
-

this is a new series, did you mean homestand?
-
Tough to score when one out gets taken from you, and you voluntarily give another away.

Yes'm.

I guess they're hoping that the throws will be off-line, but that strategy isn't working. Especially when the runners are so late that the throws could be 10 feet off-line and the catcher could still get back to the plate in time.
-
what's with those dancing cars?

I agree, bad call, probably should be reviewable just saying I can see the argument to not be able to review it.
-
It was NOT a good throw. Martin was still not even to 3b when the ball was fielded. Young could have rolled the ball home.

plus he was not that far out. I like being aggressive but damn, don't' waste the few chances they may get a game.

Especially against Jones. He has a good arm and it's no secret.

I wonder if Pettis noticed what the Orioles' third-base coach did there?

there aren't two outs.
-
that was a monster hook by Harris. (To strike out Pearce)
-
With a hack like that, Pearce should still be on the club.
Great job by Harris.
-
Anybody got the inning and the score?

Headed B6 2-1 Orioles

Headed B6 2-1 Orioles
Thanks. Stuck on a conference call and MLB app not working
-
We claimed Harris off of waivers? Given how effective he's been, that's just hard to imagine.
-
Still 2-1 O's, B7. Need some late inning magic.
-

It would be like letting go of JD Martinez.

Yeah, I looked it up last week. He didn't suck for AZ IIRC. Kind of weird, but cool nonetheless.
-
Weird to pull Ubaldo there. He did not appear to be laboring at all. He looked pissed.
-
There is something about this Col Sanders that is not right.
-
It would be like letting go of JD Martinez.
Ouch.
-
Oh good. Villar's in to run.
-
Crap. Conger batting for Castro and villar on 2nd running for Carter.
And conger gets a hit. Cool
-
so, villar in to pinch run for carter. conger in place of castro
base hit and no one out on the basepaths.
-
I can't believe how many things were done correctly there.
-
what's that phrase about nuts and blind squirrels?
-
Just make contact George.
-
Just make contact George.
Contact.
-
a run scored to tie the game and no one out on the basepaths.
-
sac fly to score valbuena and take the lead.
-
Jose!
-
Big boy vs big boy.
-
Tucker's patience at the plate is very impressive.
-
That's usually a gattis strikeout. Good to see him get it into right field for 2 runs
-
Tucker's patience at the plate is very impressive.
And welcome on this team. Notice that he plays most everyday now.
-
Tucker's patience at the plate is very impressive.
Yes, so is Gattis bat with runners in scoring position.
He's still sort of young in experience. If he learns to lay off the crap, he might be real special, cause he can hit.
-
Hank Greenberg always claimed that the only statistic that mattered for him was RBIs. You kinda feel that with Gattis.
-
Nice easy 1-2-3 for Neshek.
-
The baserunning is getting to be embarrasing.
-
Villar and Rasmus trading war stories on the bench.

They obviously think they're a lot more clever than they actually are.
-

To be fair, that was tough. It was so deep in the hole, I thought it was going through. 3b coach owns that unless Rasmus ran thru his stop.
-
Does anyone else see Hamilton when Davis bats. It's uncanny to me: the looks, the homers, the flailing Ks.
-
Nice play by Villar.

Announcers say the stop was on.
-
Nice win, Astros style: solid starting pitching, great pen and those late inning bats.

And less than 3 hours.

...after the windmill was on.
